Disclaimer: because the names of the main actors differed completely on IMDb from the first movie to this one, I thought at first we would watch other protagonists. I apologize in advance for the confusion I have had in the intro 😂

Early Access to "THE GOONIES": it's adorable! - First Time Watching

In this video, I am watching for the first time a pure fantasy story made for children. I think this is the first watch-along of a movie that it's exclusive for children.

This doesn't mean an adult or a parent can not enjoy it, but we've lost the imagination in which we believe everything works by just saying it, and that a few precious minerals can save an entire neighborhood. This is a movie that has to be enjoyed the way it is: no logic, just pure joy, and adventure.

The best part of the movie, IMO? Slot and Chunk... they are the real heroes and their friendship is just beautiful

[[ I'm doing my best to upload the content as soon as I can under my condition (the after-surgery phase) ]]

Knowing that Big Trouble in Little China is a B-movie, I think it's safe to say that inside its category, it's a good movie. I know most of the time B movies are often labeled as automatically bad, and depending on which point of view you look at it, it's true. I mean: they'll never be able to have the same quality as the big productions like Warner Bros, Disney, Paramount, etc. But if we consider the effort of producing such movies with less budget, this one, in particular, had a really good idea.

I think I've never enjoyed this much such a simple story as I did with this movie. It was so accurate with every single detail. I never wanted a gun, but I can still relate to his feelings and thoughts. I know this depicts the 40s, but kids are kids, and good parents are good parents, regardless of the year.

I am watching 2 episodes instead of 1 because we have finished The Queen's Gambit and because The Witcher had me very excited, but the adaptation differed from my expectations unfortunately (this is a personal opinion on matters of taste, so let's remember it's ok to disagree). I am sure that those who watch it without knowing the books will enjoy it.
Let's focus on Firefly though: the following watch-along are for episodes 7 & 8, which for the moment are my favorites from the series. I've learnt a lot about the characters, especially Jayne.
