Rough draft for the Raptor's death if Ayla manages to defend herself against the jump attack. Her spear thrust would be just as effective, naturally. There's going to be a bit of a range on where the spear hit nails it.

Most of the content in Cretaceous Seas is wholly original, with this noticable exception - I'm pulling the carnictis worms straight from King Kong because they're just the coolest monster worm design I've ever seen on the big screen.
All the artwork on this scene is being done by a newcomer to the studio who hasn't decided yet if he'd like to remain anonymous or not.

This issue will be 7 pages, and might be my favorite scene in the series so far. I've never shared a comic script before, so this is something a little different. Here are the first two pages, as they're sent out to be worked on. Enjoy!
Page 1:
Panel 1:
Ayla looks defiant and determined. Her is spear raised and ready to defend herself as she stands in the murky, ankle-deep water. In front of her is a massive carnictis worm, intent making her its next meal...

Hey guys, I'd love to get some feedback on something. I'm known for being a vore artist with a focus on babes and monsters, but I need to start expanding my content to keep the studio healthy. Since I'm working on the game and that'll keep me occupied for a while, it's in the comics where we'll be exploring new directions, or possibly even bringing on another animator if the interest grows enough.
So my question is this - what kinds of stuff outside of vore would you all b...

Seeing some awesome renders on the Secret Stash's Discord channel inspired me to brush off my 3d software, salvage some files from an old hard drive, and create a reference render for the start scene of the game. The lighting isn't quite the same as my original animation sketch concept, but using the HDRI background limited my options a bit.
The rocky outcropping was made with photoscans, arranged to roughly mimic the original composition. The model for Ayla is Genesis 2 with a lot of ...

We realized the game was going to need a few enemies and scenarios that could inflict damage but not always lead to a big vore ending. Variety in enemy types and whatnot. So here's an attack animation for the raptor, complete with feathers. There's just enough time built into his jump that you'll be able to counter the attack with a spear thrust.

We are adding some movement to the giant toad so that it can move in and out of the scene between attacks. This jump is the start of the move that would have it leap out of sight into some bushes for cover if it starts taking damage, or to setup for an ambush.

Nobody else took a stab at the animation contest to use these keyframes!
Damn!
Well, moving on, here's what I ended up doing with it.
To go from the key poses to this pencils test was fairly straight forward but time-consuming in the details. I decided to mostly hold off on doing the in-betweening until it's time to clean up the animation. That'll give the last little bits of easing that a few frames need to smooth everything out. For now, this is enough to pull the mo...

***I ended this poll early because we hit statistically significant results within two hours.***
We could do a few different things here this month - the first would be to keep the short comics with Ayla and various hungry beasts going as is. The second would be to start a series that can do more expanded stories. I've been considering a mini-series which would be a prequel to my Ambrosia animations. A mini-series also be a good way to actually tell Ayla's story in greater depth ...

Ayla needs a standard die animation, not always a vore ending for the game. I know, I know, that idea might trigger a riot, but it's true!
Here is the start of that animation. Still needs a LOT of tweaking but I wanted to share something of the process.

This 6 page comic reimagines how the horcrux search in Godric's Hollow could have gone if Hermione had gone in alone. Quickly overpowered, the young witch struggles helplessly against Nagini's powerful coils before being swallowed whole.

It's time to get spooky! Well sort of, with this not-quite-haunted house scene featuring Hermione and Nagini. This 6 page comic will re-imagine how the horcrux search in Godric's Hollow could have gone if Hemione had gone in alone. Should be out before Halloween.

Do you want free vore comics and also like to animate? Then this post is for you!
The winner of the contest gets a free annual membership to Secret Stash Comics! Woo!
I got into animation for the fun of it but it was a voreville contest that really got my name out there into the community. I'd like to do something similar now.
Super simple, here's how to play - These three frames are the keys for Ayla's "injured" death animation. It'll be triggered after she reaches...

For the last 6 months patronage has been very stable, which is excellent! Thank you all for making that happen! Having a consistent membership each month has made the production and budget for comics more predictable, and has also made it possible for me to keep MonsterChu hired on part time as a coder to help with the game development.
Ok, this is about to get a little ranty and is largely me thinking out loud about what needs to happen with the studio...

Ladies and germs, check out this legit pencil to paper rough animation for one of the next creature designs in Cretaceous Seas!
I wanted to see about putting one of the artists normally handling comics on an animation assignment. So I asked Paul to make up some basic key frames, based on some descriptions and sketches. He went above and beyond and drafted the whole animation!
These are still primarily the keys, with some straight forward in-betweening, cleaned up and...

For anyone interested, I’ve enabled annual memberships with a 16% discount. That works out to two free months per year. :)
If you’re already planning to keep pledging for the longterm (many thanks for that!), this gives you a little more incentive to do so and helps keep things stable for the studio.

I almost forgot to share this preview today! I'm feeling a little swamped with work lately, getting all of the loose ends on the game art tied up. It has me slightly more scattered and less interactive than normal. I'll work on it, I swear.
One change in Ayla's design - I had to drop the skull necklace. I friggin' love it, but for now it adds to much extra production time. It might not seem like much but it is a complex ite...

Hey guys! I wasn't originally planning to release this issue on here, since it was an experimental issue, but the fish scene has had some delays and isn't ready yet. I've had less than stellar luck with artists lately. While you're waiting, here's a non-vore scene with Ayla from a poll that won on DeviantArt and which I funded outside the patreon.

It’s still a work in progress but this is very close to the final animation for raptor. From a gameplay perspective I don’t want him to be too fast that people can’t respond, but still fast enough to be awesome. The footfalls will be adjusted once we settle on the speed for sure.
This is the first preview showing how the animations will look when animated on ones (every frame drawn, not every other which is called drawing on twos), and is close to done.

Color test on the raptor. The animation hasn’t been cleaned up yet, but it’s in the tie down stage on about half the frames. 16 frames, on ones. The colors are roughed in just to see how it’ll all look together with Ayla and the level designs.

Exactly as the title says, this animation is for when Ayla takes light damage from an enemy. I wanted something that had impact (and jiggle) but nothing severe. Being a draft, it still needs quite a bit of clean up and I want to refine some of the motions a bit more before then. For now it'll work fine as a stand-in for the final draft.
This is 10 frames at 24fps, with most frames drawn on twos.

I have a big message to share on the next chapter of Cretaceous Seas, even though we aren't quite there yet - the next round of funding so we can keep making this game. :)
Cutting right to the point, after the first two levels of Cretaceous Seas come out I need to look at the options for continued funding to keep the game development going. This is my least favorite part of the job, but the funding is what keeps the project alive. Just to be super clear, I'm not asking for an e...

It's a little late but here's a preview of the upcoming plant vore comic. This one had originally been handled by a different artist but he dropped the ball. Paul really rocks it with the plants so I'm glad it got switched! This will be coming out later this month. The Fish scene is also in the works but not as far along.

It still needs vegetation and some foreground elements but what we have here is the foundation for the first stage of the game. Doesn't Ayla look way sexier now that she's been reduced to some basic geometry? That symmetry looks DAYUM fine!

It's still very rough and doesn't have all the details worked in yet but this is the core movement for the full snake vore attack. It took quite a while to get all the coils sorted out. Clean up and inks will take quite a bit longer still.
