Cretaceous Seas - Jungle Dangers, Page 1 in full color

The "oh shit" moment of realization.

I tried a slightly different take on the colors, using the mix of cel shaded figures and painted backgrounds I'll be employing for the game. Pretty happy with it overall. More pages coming soon!  The first couple pages are going to be posted publicly but the ending pages will be exclusive to patreon supports or purchasers through gumroad.

Screenshot Mock-up, Concept Art

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone here from the states!  This concept art is a first look into how the Cretaceous Seas game should look during gameplay. It is only a mock-up but should very closely the final look. The environment is from a 2d game assets package that used to be on the Unity site but is no longer available.

Motion test

The world for the Cretaceous Seas game is going to be filled with dinosaurs, babes, and also some degree of magic. On that note, it doesn't seem like too far of a stretch to have some giant woman-eating plants lurking in the depths of the jungle. Here's a concept sketch for an Angler Plant, with just a hint of motion. Not all the concept art for the game is going to make it into the final version but if I don't have at least one or two plant vore scenes I think I'd have a riot on m...

Cretaceous Seas, Game Development Details

Here's a rough breakdown of my thoughts and aspirations for the game. Hopefully this will bring some clarity to anyone wanting to know more about what this project is.

- The game will have the look of a traditionally animated film, with every scene entirely drawn by hand.

- It's going to be a 2D platformer with a basic combat system.

- In terms of genre, it's sci-fantasy in the vein of the sword & sorcery niche.

- The demo will be free to play when it's...

Let's get animating!

I've begun work in earnest on the sprite animations for the Cretaceous Seas Game. The last two pages of the t-rex scene are also in production but I needed to take a few days away from working on those and sit in the animator's chair again. And you know what? I love it! :)

The attached gif is a behind the scenes look at how I'm creating the motions for Ayla and her world, starting from the most basic motion build and working through traditionally As a kid, I had a documentary from the...

Ayla Costume Designs

I've been experimenting with various different looks for Ayla, balancing the need for a design that won't be too laborious to animate but still gives a distinctive and recognizable look. On screen during gameplay she'll only be about 2 inches tall, so her design and her outfit need to come across clearly at that small size. These are just some of the design iterations, shown here with both flat and cel shaded coloring.

What strikes you guys as the best look?

Hiding? She went with HIDING?! Oh, that isn't going to work... the next page is the CHOMP page!

This scene has been crazy fun to draw. Just gonna say it - I think this might be the coolest comic page I've ever done. :) Can't wait to see these in color, and especially can't wait to see that t-rex get his dinner.

After this scene is done I'll officially be moving full-time in the comic development. I really wanted to keep the CYOA comic going but I'm not reaching my minimum target...

Halloween at Hogwarts, updated, take 2!

Here's a different color style, getting into the cel shaded territory. Colors by Nina.

Halloween at Hogwarts, updated.

Here's a color experiment on the halloween pin up. Not sure I love it or not, but I wanted to get something up. The next comic page is nearly finished, at least the pencils and inks, but won't be ready today. they may go largely unnoticed but backgrounds can take nearly as much time as the character drawing.

Look, she's naked! In the test animation I did a few months ago I have Ayla wearing a loincloth but (after tons of requests to have her strip all the way down) I decided to let her run around the jungle in the buff.

Hope you guys did the style direction this project is going. The next page is the first point where the story will split off and turn towards either the t-rex ending, snake ending, or escape.

Halloween at Hogwarts (Version II)

I couldn't resist doing my own take on this scene! Originally I wanted to render out EVERY DETAIL and really go overboard on it, but this already took longer than planned. It'd be fun but also takes forever. Might come back to it in the future but for now this is it. :)

SO! This unfortunate student found herself on the edge of the Forbidden Forest, way out of bounds from the safety of Hogwarts.  Being for Halloween, the concept behind the scene is that after the tree consumes a v...

Creteacous Seas - Jungle Dangers, Page 1

The first two pages of this story are going to be universal, then the story will start to branch off in the different endings. Up first will be the t-rex and snake endings. I've been brainstorming on how to best showcase the art as it comes out while still also giving that sense of reading a CYOA story, without just seeing everything... it's kind of impossible. So each story arc will just be released as it is finished.

But it was fun working on this page and trying to find the right l...

Halloween at Hogwarts (Version 1)

Guest artist DarkHorse really brought his gritty, horror inspired style into this month's pin up. It's no trouble believing this tree could be lurking somewhere on the grounds at Hogwarts, and this is one student that won't be sharing the secret of where she found it!

I marked this pinup as "Version 1" because I have the assignment to two different artists, meaning we'll have at least two different interpretations of the scene concept. It's very tempting to sketch up a 3rd version mys...

Cretaceous Seas - CYOA Comic Update

Below is the status of the pages that'll be going into this issue. It's a longer project than normal so my approach to writing/drawing it is a little different. I'm going to bring all pages up to the stage of finished inks before doing the digital painting.  Hopefully, that'll keep the look very even and consistent throughout the comic. Pages without data have been written but not yet drawn.

Halloween Suggestion Box

The Halloween store just opened up at my local mall so it looks like it's time to start planning something fun for a sexy-spooky pin up! Starting this early, it may be possible to squeeze in two this year.

Leave your suggestions in the comments for a halloween vore scene you'd like to see illustrated as a SINGLE PAGE pin up. Please limit three suggestions per person. Suggestions will be open for 4 days (until Friday at 12am, EST). I'll pick my top 5 favorites and then put them into a p...

Snake page, rough draft.

Here's a look at the first draft of Ayla's snake scene. This page had cleaner pencil work than anything else I'm working on so that's really the main reason it's getting featured. The rest of the rex pages are still very much in the super rough draft stage and the rest of the snake pages haven't been drawn at all yet. Obviously, there's still a ton of refinement needed throughout this drawing (especially the super rough middle panels), but I think there's enough here to give a sense of where ...

Cretaceous Seas Update - Finished cover inks

How fast could a t-rex run? Ayla is about to find out!

Fun fact, the real speed is estimated at around 12mph, and it'd be more of a power walk than a true run. The speed I had him chasing her in the animation test is actually intended to be a pretty accurate representation, which means I nerd out too much on dinosaurs.

This page is going to double as the cover for the finished comic and also as one of the t-rex story arc pages. For the cover I might also throw in mo...

Ink Commission

Alien babes, tentacle monsters, and vore - could there be a more natural combination?

This drawing was a commission for a friend that was generous enough to let me share it exclusively on here. I'm not planning to do any colors for it, since that takes much longer and I'm putting most of my focus into the current comic. Doing creature design is a lot of fun, on top of the drawing aspect itself.

Types of content beyond comics

I'm getting started today on the choose-your-own-adventure comic, beginning with the T-Rex and snake scenes.

While I'm working on that I want to get some feedback on what other types of content you might potentially be interested in seeing. I've recently been working in an art studio that focuses on sculpture and it's gotten me thinking about possibilities beyond the comics. For instance, anybody here collect comic action figures? I think I'm going to try to do some serious world buildi...

Finished!

I hope all of your enjoyed seeing this take on Oola's final scene from Return of the Jedi. It's a vore scene that has been done before but I tried to bring something new to it.

Up next, the first panels of the CYOA comic! Pretty excited to be getting started on that.

Cretaceous Seas - Scene Choices

I want to get a sense of what sort of vore scenes everyone would be interested in seeing for the upcoming Choose Your Own Adventure comic. Below are all the various ideas I've been considering illustrating - pick your favorites! :-)  Select as many as you like. The least popular options will most likely get dropped from production entirely, at least for this issue.

Oola Page 5, unfinished inks.

I'm pressing hard this week to get the last page out ASAP! I had hoped to have it finished today but I'm not quite there. I wanted to share this preview, at least.

The inks on it are about half way done, with the top right panel like 99% finished. The bottom panel is pretty close too, but the stomach lining that's currently drawn needs more development. The middle panel with Oola's feet going in needs more work rendering the rancor but is pretty close. The blank panel at the top left i...

CHOMP!

One more page will wrap up Oola's fate, bringing this comic to a close.

Small (or maybe big) announcement - I've decided to risk putting more time towards comics and game development by cutting back on the hours I work at my day job. Hopefully more time spent working on art, and faster releases of new stuff, will bring a rise in patronage.

Oola, Page 4 Inks

The biggest part of the next comic is all set! I'll be starting on the digital painting tomorrow, and that'll be it for this one. Although the page is incomplete I wanted to get this up so that you can all at least see the forward progress. This page is my favorite so far. It's fun to contrast the rough textures of the rancor against Oola's soft curves.

Side note - her costume gets added in the painting stage so make the coloring easier for me.

Animation Test

I'm still ruminating over possible game development ideas for this Winter. Here's a (very) rough test for the look I have in mind. What's more fun, you play the t-rex and chase down babes or you play the girl and try to evade a variety of creatures?

Cretaceous Seas - Unfinished Cover art

Another look into the potential CYOA comic, this time getting a peek at the T-rex scene. Run!!! But really, I had planned for this to become either a cover or the first of an image series (instead of a full-fledged comic. Leaning towards cover art.

Ok, that's it for now! I hope that helps inform you all on what the upcoming projects could potentially look like. :)

Cretaceous Seas - the snake ending sketch

If you didn't guess from the name, the CYOA (choose your own adventure) blonde cavegirl comic would be focused around the same girl that got swallowed by a mosasaur in my Cretaceous Seas comic. Eventually I'd love to expand this character and build her stories in a vore game.
