I'm really happy with how this one turned out! It all came together once I added the stained glass pattern to her skin as well, and the darker background made the wings pop. I think there are a lot more possibilities with stained glass wings to explore, and I look forward to sharing the discoveries~

In my last sketch post, Amareen suggested adding images to the stained glass wings to make them look, well, more stained glass like lol. It was such a great idea, I decided to add in roses to the wings and they no longer look like Scarlet Macaw wings :D Thank you, Amareen!

Rumors about me using AI

My dear Patrons, there have been some unfortunate rumors about me using AI for my paintings. The only way to prove that I drew everything was to share the full painting recordings and the 3D model I built for the base. I had been saving these recordings and files as the July rewards to be sent out on August 5th. I'm really sorry to have shared the rewards you paid for publicly like this, but I don't know how else to prove that I had drawn everything.

A Thousand Skies

This one truly took so long to paint. The video recording of the process took 10 sessions instead of the usual 3. But I'm really happy with how it turned out!

I've always loved the impressionist art style above all other oil painting styles, so it's been a blast studying the works of Monet and modern impressionists, and adding my own touch to the skies as well.

The painting started with me building a 3D model in SketchUp to figure out the best composition

Inner Child

The older I get, the more I keep my inner child locked inside. I used to talk more about my past, about my dysfunctional family and how they've hurt me. But these days I feel pressured to be positive, to only paint happy things because the world is sad enough already.

A year ago I made some silly Trigun fanart that brought all the bigots out of the woodworks, so I told them that everything I draw is gay, including the Space Cat I had been working on. Now I'm happy to announce that Space Cat is still gay, and he has a boyfriend: Rainbow Cat!

I loved sculpting with clay but there's always that uncanny valley moment when the shape is just human enough but I haven't added the eyes yet. Or worse, the eyes didn't turn out right the first time and I had to smooth them away to redo them. Kind of nightmare fuel ahahaha

This image is inspired by the two Steller's Jay that have been nesting under the roof of our house, and just a day ago their eggs have hatched! I've been spending my days watching them go in and out their nest, feeding their babies, and just being all around adorable.

 It's hard to get a good photo from the webcam but here's what they look like, so vibrantly blue and magical, like the night.

Sorry for the lack of updates, something crazy happened at our house and I'm still recovering from it ;_; 

Long story short, the AC installer forgot to seal the hole in our wall left by the installation process, so a family of mice moved in. It resulted in at least 7 (maybe more) mice raining from the AC unit in the ceiling and onto my freaking pillow of all places.
