Instant silence blast

Me and my boyfriend grew up in different environments - I was raised in the city and he was raised with forest surrounding the house, so while I am perfectly fine with city sounds, he is not. To me, they are just ambient background sound, the same as birdsound or machines humming. He hates the sounds of cars and people.

The blame game

This is the only way me and my boyfriend ever really fight or argue: we fight over whose fault some issue was, but both are trying to hoard the blame and defend the other one.

I had a frustrating hiccup involved in my tax filings some weeks ago - I had paid the tax they had stated, four days late since I didn't get the bill on time, and for some reason my online tax files didn't show that it was already paid, despite of the money leaving my account. I dedicated a whole monday to calling around to get it fixed, but as I was sitting in the call queue first thing in the morning, I logged onto my online taxes and found that they had fixed it already.

Adventures of a skull

I've been practicing making animations with a VHS video vibe, and I just recently found a font that perfectly matches the style of 90s subtitles. The goal was to make something with the impression of random out of context clips of old lost films that would have been cool to see but can never be found again.

Also the filing of my taxes is being frustrating so I somewhat made this to vent.

Successfully rehydrated

Somehow my depressive moods just miraculously disappear as soon as I get some water and sunlight. I am not much more than a somewhat more complicated houseplant.

Animation experiments

Using an old animation loop as the base, I wanted to see if I could make an animation with "camera panning", so the focus slides across the same animation loop twice. I spent way too much time on this while procrastinating all the important work that I was actually supposed to be doing.

Tactical thinking

This was originally about warhammer, too, but since we've also tried to play chess once or twice, I figured that I'd translate it to a more easily recognised and readable tactical game. I like playing with tyranids as my army, as they play well with my "if I have no idea what I'm planning to do next, then neither do you"-method.

Call you later

We have no idea how, but my boyfriend's mother somehow has an uncanny ability to always call just when we're in the middle of doing something. We're not even that active or busy people, but if we have one thing planned all week and she'll only call once that week, she will absolutely certainly call just as we're doing the thing.

This happens regularly. I need a few hours of Phone Time In Bed to fall asleep (I know, I know, you're not supposed to do that, but none of the correct ways to sleep work as well for me), which usually happens after I've cuddled my boyfriend to sleep, which will happen in roughly 5-8 minutes. I literally remembered that it's valentine's this friday yesterday, and finished drawing this comic just this morning.

Heating systems

My boyfriend was built for the cold - he rarely encounters weather too cold. In hindsight, the incident that inspired this comic idea happened on the day he first developed the fever from the infection on his back (which we had no idea about back then), but it is nonetheless noteworthy that neither of us really noticed anything abnormal about him almost steaming from snowmelt as soon as we got inside.

In the eye of the beholder

We've had this exact conversation remarkably often.

I'm only on the first week of the regular three-per-week comic posting schedule, but so far it already feels like a weight off my shoulders. Going from drawing 3 comics instead of 3,5 on an average week doesn't seem like it would be that much less work, but knowing that I don't have to constantly keep an eye on when was the last Comic Day is already freeing more mental energy to other work.

First impressions

Neither of these statements are a hyperbole or a joke, by the way. We were both looking for love from the wrong place - on Grindr - when we started talking. Snoring

I did not know that I snore at all before my boyfriend told me about it. Also sorry I'm posting later than usual today, I got days mixed up and thought it was tomorrow!

I've been contemplating switching to a more regular three-day posting schedule, for example always posting on mondays, wednesdays and fridays, instead of just every other day all week around. Emergency cleaning

This comic idea has been sitting in my notes for so, so long. Mainly because my boyfriend's mom reads the comic and I didn't want to make her suspect what kind of condition our apartment might be in.
