SkyHorn's Adventures - The Court of Sharks

Here we are. Those are the mersharks. It was demanding, but I had much fun designing all of them. Tell me who's your favorite :-)

Damn Flash Drive

So guys, I'm writing a blog post about the JK Rowling recent controversy, more or less on the tones of my Beastars review, and like Beastars, it featured an illustration of mine, this time much more accurate than the previous, where I imagine my perfect kind of magical school, still with an Hogwarts' vibe, but where all the sentient species live together (humans, orcs, dwarves, centaurs and so on) and receive the same education.

But I've unplugged the flash drive too soon and that file,...

SkyHorn Adventures - An advanced species

Ok, tell me if I should stop writing infodump in the caption and then expose it in the following page.

Maybe you noticed that those pages are lacking the "HUD" present in the previous chapter. That's not why I'm an unreliable artist, well, I AM, but it's not the only reason.

Consider the story to this point as a sort of cutscene where the player had no agency. You got to choose the companion, the merman species to meet, but till now this story was decided by external factors...

SkyHorn Adventures - Expository High Relief

Three Dragons and their beefy sons in an eternal confrontation. Who is the best dad?
A bit more experimental with this page. A small animation and brushes with a charcoal-effect to give the impression of an incision on a stone.
And a lot of creature designs.
Not the full list, because it's still an in-universe piece of art, so it could lack some pieces of information, especially because it's made from a species of mermen. That's also the reason why the Ocean Dragon looks bigger and m...

SkyHorn Adventures - Silly Gorilla

One thing you should learn about Gokong: he's smart but unfocused, so it's kind of easy to distract him from plot-relevant questions. And yeah, those lights are exactly what are you thinking about.

The pool about the companion for the leather guy now has no end date, so you can keep voting, especially if you yet didn't do that. The idea of imagining fantasy creatures in a modern setting is quite ...

I'm undecided

So, if I wanted to use again the leather guy concept, keeping it still PG13 but spicing things up with introducing a furry companion, should I play with size differences, giving to the companion an humanly impossible size, or making them similar?

(You can make multiple choices this time)

Aaarrrgghh! and Varvatos Vex

I've made this illustration I've made over an old sketch that I've sidelined three months ago. You can't imagine the suffering of inking over the three-months old me.

And you can't imagine as well my surprise in discovering that not just this illustration won in the pool, but that so many of you know who those two characters are.

Tales of Arcadia is such an obscure show. And, sadly, for good reasons. I talk about them 2020-06-08 20:54:06 +0000 UTC View Post

So, should I focus on rule 34 of Aaarrrgghh and Varvatos Vex from #Trollhunters or go on with the leather guys subject?

SkyHorn Adventures - With a clap of my hands

Despite their appearances and their bad rap, sharks aren't aggressive.

If they can use kinky magic instead of blunt violence to make their hostages obey, they do.

In case you're wondering, the gorilla and the bull aren't hubbies or lovers, their nonchalance in their respective nudities and intimate contact is just a product of their culture. People in this world, even in the Country where they come from, wear clothes only for protection, not modesty.

Ha, what's the name of t...

I'm confused

Hey, do you remember the pic 'just a leather guy" I've posted yesterday?
It's one of the better performing posts of my history on Twitter, and it's a PG13 solo human.
What I've done right this time?
Is it the more relatable premise? The fact that I'm finally figuring out how to work with light and shadow effects? The fact that I've hit a good color scheme?

Just a leather guy

I hope that the Patreon Team won't find it too smutty for being a free post. Maybe some of you know that my account risked the suspension an year ago because this platform was trying to clean its image after the Sargon of Akkad shitshow. He's dressed after all. In leather, but he's dressed. Can you imagine working out in leather?

SkyHorn Adventures - "I hate my job"

I'm having such a great time drawing the expressions on this face. Could a shark look frustrated or pissed off? This boy can! Also, I really enjoy designing the gorilla with a more real-life posture, often walking and running on his knuckles. It makes him even more animal.

SkyHorn Adventures - The kinkier, the more powerful

Gokong is having an hard time accepting that in this island magic magic be used to create imprisoning cockrings. Yes it can be. It must be.

By the way, I hope you like this jawed guy. Drawing his facial expressions will be a lot of fun.

SkyHorn's Adventures - Choose your Merman!

Our MerMay has come to an end. Between twelve designs four have been  preferred over the others, the newt, the crocodile, the shark,  double-headed monster, and now it's time to choose the merman of  SkyHorn's Island.

For expressing your preference (and become my supporter) follow this link.

Mermen Designs #12 - Chelone

Here we are, the 12th and last merman for this month. From now on just selections and some additional doodles. The last of the roster is kind of a whimper because turtles aren't quite present in Greek Mythology.

The name comes from a nymph that didn't attend the marriage of Zeus and was punished for her laziness, transformed in a creature that has to carry her house around all the time.

Quite a softcore story compared to the majority of Greek myths.

I just wanted to draw tur...

Mermen Designs #11 - Scylla

Scylla was a sea monster of Greek Mythology, most notably mentioned in the Odyssey because Odysseus had to avoid the strait between Italy and Sicily where the monster dwelled.

There are various descriptions of this monster, one more bizarre than the other, but the leitmotif is it having an abnormal number of heads of limbs. What better opportunity to draw again a guy with two heads and four arms?

Imagine him patrolling the straits between islands and kidnapping seamen.

Mermen Designs #10 - Capricornus

Anyone born in January here, he?

If some of you are wondering why in the Zodiac there's such an odd-looking beast, the explanation is very funny.

It intertwines with the myth of Typhon, a monster so powerful that overpowered Zeus, imprisoned him and removed his tendons.

The remaining gods fled to Egypt, transformed into animals, and created the Egyptian pantheon, that, as you know, is made of anthros.

Pan, the bucolic god of sexual drives and inebriation, that has saty...

Mermay 2020 #10 - Ichthyocentaurs, the water centaurs

Maybe you've seen them on some wall paintings of ancient baths, pulling the chariot of Aphrodite.

Exactly, Greeks were into mixing hooves with fins, and if Poseidon and all the other Men of the Sea settled with sea horses, this sassy goddess wanted half men, one-fourth fishes, the last fourth horses, to carry her around the seas.

I guess she loved to stare at wet muscular backs while riding. Can we blame her for that?

From an artistic viewpoint, for me, that's a perfectioned...

Mermay 2020 #8 - Acheilius the Shark

Sharks in the last week got a bit of coverage, thanks to a certain King Shark, he? I can say, at least, that the idea was conceived long before.

But the wink scene was too hilarious to avoid mentioning it.

Anyway, Greek Mythology has few stories about sharks, or better, shark-looking sea monsters.

Lamia, daughter of Gaia and Chronos, sometimes has shark attributes and gave her name ...

SkyHorn Adventures - Shipwrecked

The seabed was bumpy. Bumpy like the week I just had.

Drawing so much background was quite out of my comfort zone, and making up water effects is some kind of Zen practice for me now.

I hope you appreciate a bit of atmosphere and story between the sex scenes.

And yeah, the figure of the merman saving the captain and the lieutenant is ambiguous on purpose, because my selection for the first merpeople of SkyHorn's Island isn't yet finished, and I will prioritize that series fo...
