Path of the Slasher Barbarian Subclass

It's October, and we all know what that means: it's time to get SPOOKED! I love Halloween with all my heart, so I want to put out a few halloween homebrews over the course of the month in celebration of the wonderful holiday. Here's a barbarian subclass I quickly whipped together, a homage to cheesy slasher movies from the 70s and 80s.  The playstyle is all about hunting down your victims and murdering them with supernatural efficiency, channeling famous fictional slashers like Jason and...

Wild Master Ranger Subclass

My second nature-themed subclass in a row! I like the ranger class despite its weaknesses, but I always felt its subclasses were either very niche (specifically the ones released in Xanathar's) or very weak (looking at you, Beast Master and Hunter). So I wanted to create an option for ranger that was neither of those things: a subclass that was mechanically powerful, but that could also be adapted fit any ranger character. And just like that, the wild master came to be.

As you've probab...

Extended Monstrous Races Part 2

Here's another batch of playable monster races! You can find part 1 here. This time around, we have the half-troll. Since giving players an option to play as a troll would be unbelievably broken, I instead opted for making it a mixed-heritage race so that I could nerf the creature’s regenerative abilities and still have it be lore friendly. I've also included 2 monsters from Volo's Guide to Monster...

Seasonal Soul Sorcerer Subclass

That's a lot of alliteration in the title.

For my last subclass, I went outside of my comfort zone and designed a subclass for a class I've never done before. Well, this time I did the same thing again, except I went even MORE out of my comfort zone: not only have I never made a sorcerer subclass before, I've never played as a sorcerer or even had one in any of my games. So naturally, I decided it would be a great idea to design FOUR SORCERER SUBCLASSES in one. For that reason, this sub...

Extended Monstrous Races

Something a little different to my usual content. Instead of trying my hand at original player races like I usually do, I decided it would be fun (and useful) to expand upon the list of playable monstrous races introduced in Volo's Guide to Monsters with some pretty obvious additions from the Monster Manual. I originally planned to do much more than just 3 races, but I found that many monsters (such as sahuagin) simply had too many distinguishing abilities, so I decided it would be better to ...

Luck Domain Cleric Subclass

I'm back with my first cleric subclass: the luck domain, for those that worship gods of fortune (or misfortune, if that's more your thing). My original inspiration for this was wanting to make a subclass that could excel at manipulating the outcomes of situations while still having that manipulation completely RNG based (i.e, without set increases to values like proficiency bonuses or armour classes). I eventually settled on making it a cleric subclass (since gods of luck are a thing in both ...

Guide to the Verminkin

I've just released the guide to the verminkin (my biggest homebrew project to date!) on my patron-only dropbox. The verminkin are a species of ratfolk inspired by the Skaven of the Warhammer universe, but with original lore designed by myself. They lurk beneath cities, plotting in the darkness, seeking to wipe out the races who banished them from the surface.

The full guide includes lore and a playable race for the verminkin (included here), as well as 5 NPC statblocks for verminkin gua...

Berbalang Patron Warlock Subclass

Hey guys, sorry for the lack of content lately (life has been throwing me curveballs left and right) but I'm finally back with another warlock subclass!

Berbalangs are, in my opinion, one of the most interesting and overlooked monsters that were included in Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes. They don't have a very high CR (and only have 17 intelligence for some reason, despite being basically immortal, having truesight and being able to speak every language?) but their lore and spectral dupli...

Path of the Highlander Barbarian Subclass

This is a barbarian subclass inspired by the fighting style of ancient Scottish warriors from the highlands. I'm Scottish myself, and I thought d&d-ifying these guys would be the perfect way to utilise all the useless knowledge I have about my country.

Highlanders were taught to rush down their enemies to close the gap between themselves and the enemy. Their wills were unshakable- even a volley of gunfire could not stop their charge. To replicate these tactics, this subclass encoura...

Thoraxia Race (Old)

For the new version of this race, click here.

Sorry for the short hiatus there, University is keeping me busy, but I finally managed to get this race done: the thoraxia! I've been playing lot's of Hollow Knight (which I would highly recommend, by the way) and the game made me realise two things: one, how diverse and creative you can get with anthropomorphising bugs, and two, how much of a waste it is that D&a...

Mounts and Beasts of the Desert

Been swamped with University but I managed to finally finish this, a pack of four statblocks for some original desert beasts I designed. 5th edition has a serious lack of encounters for desert settings in my opinion, and since I'm going to be DMing a campaign arc set in a desert later this year, I thought I'd give myself some more options for beasts that my party could encounter. Three of these beasts are designed to be used as mounts/beasts of burden for your party, and have prices listed fo...

The Glutton Patron Warlock Subclass

Welcoming in the second month of my patreon with my first subclass, the Glutton patron for the Warlock class. Gluttons are greedy beings who will stop at nothing to satisfy their cravings, and those unfortunate enough to make pacts with them are given a taste of their insatiable hunger. I've been playing around with subclasses for a while, but this is my first finished one. I got really creative with the features while still trying to retain the essential feel of the Warlock class, and I'd be...

Guide to the Fossilus

My patreon's been live almost a week now, and I've got my biggest homebrew yet: the Guide to the Fossilus. This PDF contains a playable race with 2 subraces, lore (which you can read on this preview) and 2 monster statblocks. The fossilus are an ancient race of humanoids descended from dinosaurs, who struggle to survive in the ever-changing world. They're big and handsome, and my favourite creation to date. If you use them in your home games, please give me your feedback!

The full guide...

Ceremeld Race

The ceremelds are mind flayers whose transformation was unsuccessful, perfect for those who want a character with plenty of eldritch horror (or maybe just a bard who makes lot's of distasteful tentacle jokes). I was really happy with this race: I would love you guys to try it out in your own games at home and tell me your thoughts.

As always, a high quality PDF version of this post is avaliable on my patron-exclusive dropbox. The dropbox has everything I've posted here on patreon plus m...
