How to Model a Dragon Egg - Addendum

A quick way to fill the holes left by the Tissue operator is to make a selection on the tile and apply that to the tesselated object by refreshing the Tissue. This and the Lattice has to be done after applying the Tissue, otherwise hitting refresh again will reset the changes. I've attached the new egg, which I've also unwrapped to UDIMS this time. Have fun!

How to Model a Microphone Mesh - Update 01

I found a faster way to create the hex pattern, making the crease technique unnecessary!

1. Activate the Tissue add-on in Preferences

2. Select the triangulated version

3. Click Convert To Dual Mesh in the Tissue settings (N)

Also, to uniformly shape each hex into a perfect circle, apply LoopTools > Circle after the Inset, while the faces are still selected, but before deleting them.

In this session we focus on beveling before and after creasing, and how creasing can be used before subdivision to ensure sharp edges stay sharp.

• With a Mean Crease value of 1 (maximum crease),  you could also apply the Subd Modifier using the "Simple" option without creasing, which would be faster.
