My sweet baby…

Both of my kiddos this week ended up with high fevers first it was my five year old now it is my three year old I thought that because she was nursing she would skip the fever part of whatever virus they caught from my older daughters school but now she’s warm too. Gave her some childrens motrin to help bring down her fever and when she’s sick she won’t eat much. Nursing is important during this time of fever as the breastmilk coats the little tummy and helps keep the Motrin from causin...

Happy family bonding moments.

It is natural and normal for a toddler to insist on having the milk area free from disruptive coverings. In my opinion what is NOT normal is for a mom to feel she must cover the breast area which was made for feeding babies. I wanted to share with you an article that I recently read on the news website about women who are fighting in the supreme court to get equal rights for all people to be able to be in public places bare chested. A woman’s breast is made for feeding her babies. The biolo...

Breastfeeding with injury…

It was a fine summer day when I was playing with my children at the indoor playground. They both sat down on my lap as we slid down a slide together. The weight of them on my lap as we landed on the padded floor caused my coccyx to touchdown gently bumping the pad. Surprisingly after the impact a wave of excruciating pain started to develop in my tailbone area. It was warm and radiating pain that was extremely uncomfortable I could barely sit down. It has been a few months now and it is still...

Don’t forget to wear nursing pads!

Breasts leak. Trust me they do. If you don’t want to stain your clothes like this don’t forget to wear nursing pads! This is a must if you are a nursing mother. All it takes is one baby to cry or looking at one picture of your baby and this can happen. The natural let down response of the human milk duct responds to sounds and images much like oxytocin. My advice is whether you’re pregnant and expecting, nursing a newborn or toddler, nursing pads are a must!

I had a mishap one ti...

The love of a mother…

The love of a mother can heal illnesses and her warmth and kindness can comfort her child. 46% of women breast-feed past the age of three sometimes even until seven or 10 years old. It is entirely up to her mother and child when their breast-feeding journey should be finished. It is unfortunate to me that society looks down upon this not knowing all of the health benefits and mothers have to hide the fact that they extended breast-feed because of society.

Breastfeeding passed the age o...
