It's show day! Now, I love performing. It's hella fun to help people forget about the unpleasant parts of life.

That said, I am so tired. Last night was my 15th John Mayer concert so I didn't get to bed until 1am. That wouldn't have been such a big deal ten years ago, but it really takes a toll now. (Which reminds me. Never use hemorrhoid cream under your eyes. Cold tea bags are supposed to work best with bags.)

Here's a little photo from Tiki Oasis last week. I didn't bother retouching or cropping. He thought I was crazy to climb in the pond. I was crazy to get as close to the waterfall as I did because my hair was like cotton candy. (Too much water would've made all that hairspray into a nasty, sticky mess.)

I took so many suitcases to Tiki Oasis. Lots of clothing, accessories and fake hair. I wore at least two outfits a day. I had spreadsheets for activities and wardrobe. I'm a bit of a minimalist in life, so this was nuts.

When I was hustling up Miss Motoblot votes, I was sharing videos and pin-up tips online. I was contacted to teach a class based on that content, so I'm teaching this Sunday!

I hope I'm not too ambitious with my plans. We're going to shoot each student at the top of class (quick "I'm a model" snap) and again at the end. My hope is for them to implement what I teach for that second photo. I'm going to use real-life examples...

Behind the Scenes 07.14.19

Here's a little bonus behind the scenes. I vary my warm-up music when I get to the studio, depending on how much I have to do. With the fans, I have to tighten them up so they stay open, warm up my whole body and pay extra attention to my hands, arms and shoulders.

And, I make a little time for some fuckery.

I learned this afternoon that I did not make the cut for Miss Tiki Oasis finalists. This is one of four things I put myself out there for in a short period of time that did not bear fruit. Well, not in the way one would anticipate. I was also surprised that a couple of burlesque performers from my part of the world didn't make the cut as well.

Behind the Scenes 07.12.14

All the stuff that takes place on the stage is a lot more glamorous than some of the backstage stuff. For example, I did this amazing show Friday at a venue that needed some backstage attention.

While these things can be uncomfortable and frustrating in the moment, they tend to become funny stories later. In this case, it was a funny story on the night. 

Panties. Right.

I've been so busy working on my Tiki Oasis go-go outfits and the outer dressings of my new act that I didn't even think about panties until last week. I want cage panties in nude, which are a little tough to find in the online marketplaces. My panty suppliers are all tied up with other commissions and activities that won't get things to me in time to embellish for August 3rd.

I had applied to hostess at Tiki Oasis this year since I'm enduring plantar fasciitis in my right foot. I'm on CBD because the "extra-strength" drugs my doctor prescribed do nothing for the pain. (Natural redhead and all that.) I rest, ice, compress, tape and exercise my foot to help it heal.

I bought this fancy What Katie Did lingerie set in late 2013. I loved the idea of sheer tap pants that have a cleverly-placed panel to cover the vice bits, so I blew a small wad of cash on the set. The trick is that I am not tall, so there isn't much space between the bottom of my bra and the top of the tap pants. They weren't as flattering on my not-tall body as they would be on a very tall person.
