Abandoned Temple

"Sometimes I just can't believe our luck! A hideout, not far from the main crossroads connecting the twin cities, with several entrances obscured by foliage and the terrain. Boss really struck gold with this one...

It wasn't an easy move. It was once some sort of place of worship, but something must have happened here far before us. The first few days was moving the bones of the previous tenants out and doing some "house cleaning"....

Marble Ruins

With a flick of her ears and a stamp of her hoof, the doe regarded the approaching folk with suspicion. The woman with the staff made from mossy oak, gnarled and knotted at it's head, and clothing held together by flowering vines made her way slowly towards her.

Gently, the woman touched the head of her staff, and spoke unfamiliar words in a calming manner as she moved her hand from her staff, to her own mouth towards the doe. "Now...

Wrecked Ship Village

"As we came upon the shore, before us was the promised land. Our people had suffered so much, and finally we felt the freedom promised by the Prophet of the New Gods.
Our ships became our homes, and it wasn't long before our new world shared it's endless bounty. Ships laden with fishes of all kinds, fields of foreign fruits and tillable soil, a paradise we could not have imagined was being shared with a people who knew nothing but depravity, a concept as ...

Ship Flotilla

"The Captain, monitoring his crew's progress from the quarterdeck, remained unsettled. The Freeport was the only safe place they could unload their cargo, and safe was a relative word.

"Branded a pirate, a brigand, a traitor..." he thought bitterly to himself, "when my only true crime was not surrendering my ships, my livelihood, to the crown."

In an abundance of caution, the flotilla was ordered not to dock at the Freeport, but instead to lower the cargo ...

Galleon Interior

"Such a ship must withstand anything the unknown can throw at it. Waves higher than our highest tower, that could split a lesser vessel in twain from the sheer force of impact and stress, creatures strong enough to splinter the tallest trees from their trunks, to name a few. Every plank is planned in advance, bent to shape, and built with care."

As the Master Shipwright spoke, he traced the lines on the building plans of the galleon's frame as it bolted to the keel, to the ou...

"Is there not a corner of the seas we haven't sailed? I can't say I take ya seriously with a question like that, lad. Ships like this, they only shewed us an ever-growing boundary of what we know exists. The Tall Ships, aye, they take us far, but the ocean stretches farther. It's not like ye can just sail off in any direction and find land.

"As such, Brackenridge Keep was rebuilt to it's former splendor. The lord and lady cemented the alliance between the neighboring regions. They ruled together, a living testament to the pact they forged in marriage.

Those who serve under them and the commonfolk they protect, at one and the same time sing their praise. Everyone sworn to duty upholds their law, as the weight of responsibility rests with them, not just for peace for th...

Broken Fort

"Once a noble bastion of peace in the outer fringes of the Known World, the ruins of Brackenridge Keep persevered, standing tall against the wilds. The name alone reminds many of the history it survived. Over it's many years, it withstood the rule of many lords, both noble and corrupt. It's walls protected many a villager and their kin through a great many sieges, wars, and territorial disputes, acted as a safe harbor for trade caravans between several nations, even changed hands bet...

Sandstone Tomb - Level 02

"After half a day's travel through the deep and interwoven chambers and interconnecting passages, one may find themselves within the central chamber of Akenhepsut, the Fallen Sybarite, buried alongside his servants.

Such a massive tomb would have been thought to be reserved for someone of the greatest importance, a leader, a king, not one such as he. A glutton and hedonist, his desire for all things that bring pleasure knew no bounds. His life, and the lives of hi...

Sandstone Tomb - Level 01

"As we stepped through each chamber, statues of a forgotten idol, clad in gold plating, gazed imposingly upon us. It's true that each idol remained still during our exploration, this stillness didn't reassure inanimacy. I wasn't alone, as I came to realize. Whilst they hid it well, I couldn't help but notice that Gambi and Breminan cast uneasy glances as they collected relics, or pried gemstones from the walls. My interest remained on the petroglyphs found on every surface, and the s...

Entrance to the Sandstone Palace

“As the River Nacepht receded from it's crest, it revealed architecture buried within it's sands and lost to time. The rains further up stream near the Ahpocret Oasis, originating from the reckless transmutations of those who dwell there in their attempt to preserve their oasis as the wellspring failed, were too much for the sandstone and dunes to contain.

Fate finds them now wrapped in a tragic irony, for in their attempts to pr...

“The Lord Lieutenant was most pleased that I had accepted her assignment. The locals had been growing increasingly restless, and it was becoming more and more difficult to quell their anxiety.

"I believe it was here that our native phrase was coined: "Never is there a moment's peace by the sea."

Today, the Tartauran Freeport bustles with activity in the midsummer sun, attracting trade ships from the distant reaches of the sea. Spice merchants unload their galleys on the seaside quays, while on the south side fishing trawlers unload the morning's catch from their holds, preparing for their evening return to the waters. The Titan's Maw

"We have always delved into dangerous and dark places to find that which glistens, the riches that inspire our hearts with lustful greed. The objects of greed, however, are as varied as those who seek them. For the most loathly and appalling of souls, such desires have been twisted into deviant and heretical obsessions. For one such as this, what hellish place would need to be uncovered to find such aliment to satisfy their corrupt appetency? To what corner of what plane of existence...

It's been a longtime coming! I've wanted to do a stable map for some time. I don't know about you but my players seem to spend a lot of time either picking up or dropping off their horses. This one could either be place on the outskirts of a village, town or even city.

The next map coming up, hot on the heals of this one, will work very nicely with it! :)
