in july 2020, we decided that we needed to get out of the house, and the most logical way to do it at the time was to go on a long road trip, and why not do it along the historical route 66?
route 66 used to be the primary way of getting from east to west in the US before the interstates were built, and tons of towns, hotels, restaurants, and roadside attractions were built around it. but when the interstate was built, most of those businesses went broke. some cities just ceased to exis...

the last photo is one of the cool features of the newer polaroid cameras, where you can take double exposure photos... which can produce a cool trick if you stand really, really still. :)

typically, alex is the one who films and edits (michelle does the research/prep and is obviously the one mostly in front of the camera), but in this video, michelle does it all.

early buncharted patreon adopters know that we have a polaroid camera! and we love to use it, even though it can be unpredictable and it's kind of expensive these days.
here are some photos around austin from back in 2019.

hey, our first nude beach experience in europe and the first nude beach video on the channel!
what an absolutely gorgeous place. if you're looking for a beachy getaway, we highly recommend lanzarote (one of the canary islands) and if you're willing, head up to charco del palo. the entire area is a nudist resort but the beaches, with all of their little coves, are so, so nice to explore.

we want to do a mini-vlog of us going to chain restaurants in the netherlands that we normally wouldn't go to on our own. this could either be funny because the chain is known to be mediocre or maybe an enlightening experience for us if the chain is actually good.
be sure to get your votes in before the end of the day this saturday (nov 2)!
which place would you like to see us explore first? β¬οΈ

michelle's pannenkoek tasted like a tortilla, so we bought a tortilla press and made tortillas. makes sense, right? well, we've wanted a tortilla press for a while now... we had one in texas, but it didn't make the cut for the move. and we love eating tacos. (hehe)

we found this photo when cleaning out some old files. it was a whole photo shoot we attempted years ago but it all turned out like crapβ¦ except this one? this actually inspired our body painting video, but i think doing something a bit more "abstract" is more in my wheelhouse... π

the cows were our neighbors. :)

we bought this fancy advent calendar filled with 5% ABV gummy candies that taste like popular mixed drinks and decided to use it for a good, old-fashioned game of "truth or drink".

we've had a few of you suggest videos for patreon in the past and thought "hey, maybe it might be fun to just let y'all suggest and vote on our patreon vlogs" so... here we are!
here's how it works:
1. leave a video idea as a comment on this post (if you have multiple video ideas, submit multiple comments).
2. review the other comments and heart the video ideas you like :)
as always, thank you... and we hope this'll lead to some fun adventures!

we're all stuck inside for who knows how long... why not buy a film camera?
on a whim, i decided to supplement my digital camera with a film camera... and thankfully, since i got in right before film became popular again, the camera really wasn't that expensive. my first camera was the canon ae-1 (and the second one which you also see a few photos from here was a yashica mat 124g -- yes, i bought two... it's a slippery slope).
anyway. michelle and i used to take walks every day ar...

so on the same trip where i met rey from star wars (mentioned in the "we review our phone's photo albums" video), we did a bunch of other stuff...
we did two of our favorite things to do in LA (other than eat, of course): we got coffee from one of our favorite coffee shops (philz coffee) and drank it at the beach in santa monica, and we visited and took photos at the old zoo in griffith park (where a lot of the enclosures still exist, empty).
los angeles is probably our favorite ...

after eating mcdonald's for two days, we needed a break. so... we ate more mcdonald's, except this time, it was mcdonald's salads. and there's no better way to encourage salad consumption than a good old fashioned game of "never have i ever". that's normal, right?

we launched the tier some of y'all have been waiting for. :)
it's called "bun fam VIP". you'll get one exclusive video or photo set every month along with occasional bonus bonus photos sprinkled in. and we've also added a nice little backlog of stuff too (it's all in the "VIP" collection, to make things easier to find).
hope y'all enjoy. we have some very silly videos in the works for the VIPs...
oh, and bun fam with benefits members, don't worry!

what do you do when you want to test out your new camera? take photos of michelle, of course!
there's not much of a story here, but you can see how i was working with various types of lighting and stuff, indoor and outdoor, trying to get a handle on how this whole camera thing worked. :)
which one is your favorite??

i'm not sure how to explain this one.
warning- if you don't want to hear typical "smut" words (like maybe something a bit more extreme than what you'd find in one of those romance books your parents read), skip this video. :)

if you're wondering: yes, we do have a full roll of film from porto sitting at home, waiting to be taken in to be developed. haha. i'm just waiting to get through another roll of film first...
so... longtime buncharted viewers may know that michelle and i had big plans in 2020 to do some extensive world traveling, starting with asia. however, with new covid shutdowns happening (especially there) seemingly daily, we decided to postpone the asia trip and take a road trip around the US ins...

yes, we are a bit obsessed with japan. ever since we watched terrace house on netflix in 2016. i didn't have a "real camera" until the fourth trip, unfortunately, so our first throwback thursday in japan will only have some firsts: our first trip to an onsen (a japanese spa) and our first trip to beautiful hokkaido (in the north of japan).
hokkaido is known for miso ramen (and the photo of michelle in the heavy coat is from sapporo's "ramen alley") where we unsurprisingly had the best b...

in this week's installment of throwback thursday, we take you to barton creek in austin, texas, which was one of the absolute BEST things about living there.
barton creek goes in a circle roughly around the outskirts of austin, texas, and has a few different points where you can hike in and hang out in the creek. it's a "watering hole". the photos here are from lost creek, which was our personal favorite spot (and typically the less busy one). on most days, when there weren't people the...

we hopped on a plane for the first time in nearly nine months and went to PORTUGAL! a new country for us. we had a lot of fun, ate a ton of great food, and, well...
also, a heads up- we originally intended for this to be a two-parter, but we liked the video better as a single video, so that means no new patreon video next week. however! we are going to post extra photos, so don't worry, you'll still get two posts per week from us. :)

for this week's installment of throwback thursday, we went to a food festival in austin, texas. shocking, right? this is the hot luck fest, which is a weekend food festival held annually by aaron franklin, the owner of the famous franklin bbq in austin, texas.
the schtick (one of them, anyway) is that they bring in guest chefs from outside of austin. and at this event, we got to meet two of our FAVORITE chefs: mason hereford, the owner/chef at turkey and the wolf in new orleans, and chr...
