Holy Smokes...Scuba in Maui is AMAZING!

Yesterday Jeremiah and I did our first Hawaii ocean dive! YES!! Not only was it our first time in Maui, it was also our very first drift dive along with a second wreck dive.

Our First Ocean Dive...Oh Boy!

Today was our first ocean dive, I will not forget it! 

Jeremiah and I got up at 5:00 this morning and headed for La Jolla Shores near San Diego. The plan was to complete our first two ocean dives! Surprisingly, I was pretty calm during the hour long drive, while I geared up and even when I walked along the small decline into the waves.

TO have dogs or to NOT have dogs!

Should your dogs sail away with you? That's a good question! 

It’s all personal preference, but I can offer you insight into what we do and how we handle our dogs while onboard. 

First, if we could go back in time and make the decision to get them or not, we would choose to pass. At that time, we just didn't know we'd be sailing away. With that being said, we have them, love them and won't give up on them. It CAN work.

New Lazy Gecko Logos!

We're finally finished with the process of creating our new logo! The main logo will be the one in color but we also wanted the other black and white choices for shirts, hats, koozies and other swag. We have some sweet ideas for swag that we plan to order soon.

We've always used the little gecko laying in a hammock which was great but he was generic. We wanted something more unique so here we go!

Ok, we're getting closer!

We're planning on purchasing number 1 for the front of shirts, hats and stuff like that. This will be our main logo though. 

We tried to incorporate the Gecko, sailing and some from the Marine Corps. The Gecko has a blood stripe which NCO's and Officers have in the Marines. The globe and anchor from the Eagle, Globe and Anchor plus the colors...So this is our Gecko, Globe and Anchor LOL

So we've got a few samples of POSSIBLE logos to replace our beloved gecko on a hammock. Each of these are finalists that have been submitted and can still be adjusted to match new ideas.

We like some of these more than others and we've already made a few requests for changes. Let's keep that under wraps though so we get some fresh ideas going!

Creating a new logo!

We know the sample says "hoping", it should say "hopping" but we're currently working on creating a new logo for LGS and we would like some feedback! This is a rough draft, as we plan to change coloring and are looking for a more sleek and sophisticated font. We may also add the coordinates to where it all began, but first we would like to hear the thoughts of our Patrons :) Please feel free to provide all the feedback you'd like!

Since we're moving forward with our new boat, Calypso, we’ve decided it’s time to get certified in scuba diving. We start our classes next week! The classes include some classroom time, pool time and two ocean dives including a dive off of Catalina Island, which you might have seen on a couple of our videos!

A Little Update and A Bunch of Stuff!

Wow! We've been super busy. I hope each of you are having a wonderful Monday so far! Along with a bunch of landlubber things like High School Graduations, Prom, etc...(Meghan is graduating this year), we're knee deep in prep for moving onto our next boat! 

Yes, things are looking good so far. The attorneys still have the paperwork and are coming up with all the specifics but as long as there are no surprises, we will be moving aboard in the next few months.
