I have been wanting to do maybe a Favorite Movies of the Early 2000s video for fun sometime at the beginning of next year. Thought I would ask you guys to name a favorite film, or a few from the year 2000-2009 that you love, and why. Hopefully you'll help me narrow down my own list in some ways.

I'll likely be checking out PRISCILLA soon. I've struggled with Sofia's work at times. VIRGIN SUICIDES is by far my favorite. But I downright hated films like THE BEGUILED remake. Upstairs with Grandpa -TCM Post Part II

Again, this was years ago, so I'm sure all this looks different now. But the upstairs bar was closed when I initially arrived. But snuck by and I got a quick vid once the hostess stepped away. But here you can obviously see the window at the top of the stairs that Sally jumps out of, and the little corner window over there where she first sees the corpses of Grandpa and company. Visiting The Og Texas Chainsaw Massacre House

Got Halloween themed posts on the brain, for obvious reasons. I live semi-close to both the original 1974 TCM house and the one from the 2003 film version. Honestly, the new one is closer but...I say fuck that. First off...you can't get anywhere near it. There's a sign outside that states very clear to stay off their private property, or else you might get shot lol. So you can only photograph it from a distance. Happy Friday. Today...I am reminded of the moment when Quentin Tarantino won his second Oscar in 2013 for Best Screenplay, and rather than thanking other people, he congratulated himself for being such a legendary writer who creates such memorable characters. Oh Quentin....never change. XD

Random Useless Annoyances

I've been singing my own cover of Wicked Game a lot by Chris Isaak this week for...reasons. Every time I think of that song, I am reminded of the finale to that Smallville wedding episode where they feature "Don't Take Your Love Away From Me" by Vast. Ya'll....it's a straight up rip-off of Wicked Game. And when I go on youtube, all people do is praise the song. No one ever mentions Wicked Game. Makes me feel like there's some glitch in the matrix.

The Review No One Asked For

Ya'll...I feel like talking about Texas Chainsaw Massacre. No reason to review it. I've done it already. But...I don't care. I had it in my mind that I was gonna do The Exorcist. But...TCM is just calling my name too hard. Hope to have it edited soon.

LAURA (1944)

I revisited this film last weekend for the first time in years. No matter what, I am always struck by Clifton Webb's performance and character. He's just so interesting. Like this weird mix between Boris Lermontov in The Red Shoes and Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady. I stand by that his character introduction is one of the most bizarre of all time. >< What do you guys think of it?

For me this is easily one of the best scenes in Fargo. Nice to hear Park talk about the performance. It's so so underrated. 

Weird Food Question

I think its fairly common that a lot of kids end up acquiring a taste for the things they didn't enjoy when they were young. Our palettes widen with maturity typically. But do you have a reverse example? As in, a food you liked as a kid, or even all through your life...but now as an adult you dislike it? 

Workout Tracks (Score or Soundtrack)

Ya'll know I'm a workout junkie. I run a lot and I always have my pump me up playlists ready. But sometimes I feel like being a total dork and running to the score to chase scenes in movies, or something really lame. Makes your workouts feel like the stakes have been significantly raised. THE MATRIX

I hadn't seen the film since I reviewed it quite a few years ago. Watched it with my brother, and my mom a several weeks ago. For my brother and me, it was just returning to an old favorite we've each seen many times over the years. My mom on the other hand, had never seen it. I was surprised she sat through the entire thing, since it's not exactly her thing. Patton's Closet Picks

I love the closet picks criterion series as many of you know. I was very happy to see Patton Oswalt on most recently. I may not be a huge fan of his work as a comedian, nor do we agree on a lot of issues...but, I like him a lot, and he's the kind of guy I'd really like to get to know and talk about life with. He also really knows his movies. A closet picks with him needs to be 30 minutes long lol. But yeah, hope you guys enjoy it if you haven't seen it yet. 

October Films

I know I'm early on this one, but because so many of the movie scheduled releases are shifting around, trying to figure out what things everyone wants to see in October. Obviously I'm interested in Scorsese's new film probably the most. Also think Dumb Money looks fun. What do you guys think?

What movie or movie scene scared you the most as a kid and why?

Double Feature

What is the weirdest double feature experience you've had? I don't mean necessarily at a theater. Just...a time when you watched two movies back to back, maybe on your own, maybe with friends. But I've realized looking back on it that I've had a few strange ones. Like me watching Irreversible followed by Sweet Charity. Or that one Christmas eve where I watched 12 Years A Slave and Django Unchained back to back XD. I suppose there's at least thematic consistency there. 

DUNE

So what do you guys think about the delay of DUNE? I had a strong feeling that would happen. With the COVID restrictions that prevented the theatrical release for part I, and now this...seems Dune can't catch a break. Obviously the reasoning is due to the writer's strike, but I wondered your thoughts on the film, and how you feel about the delay. For me it's more what it represents that is what I'm interested in. Contemplating A Review...

There's been a review I've been wanting to do possibly in the fall, just as an extra one to put out whenever nothing new is out. I have no idea why this film keeps appearing on my radar, but I'm fascinated by the reaction to it.....But it's ROGUE ONE. XD Yeah, yeah...I know. I never saw it. What films are you guys looking forward to in September? Is it weird that I wanna see Saw X? I haven't seen a Saw film since high school, but as a zeitgeist prism, if you will, I find it an interesting series from that angle.
