Hi Folks,
here is the next video of Erynis from Inu Kingdoms.
It´s a rather short but very informative video of how to tackle the rough leather cape.
We want to create a look as if the leather would consist of two layers, the harder, darker, and more glossy top surface the Papilarry layer, and the lighter, softer appearing the underlying Reticular layer.

Hi Folks,
here is the second chapter of Erynis- the grief bearer from Inu Kingdoms.
We will be painting the beautiful NMM armor.

We will be mainly using contrast paint to create our nmm, but we are not using it just as a wash , which we apply generously , we are treating it as regular paint.
We are using it for layering, glazing, wet-inwet, and also the loaded brush.

Hi Folks,
I am very excited to share with you today the very first video episode of the in-depth tutorial series dedicated to Erynis.

Erynis is a stretch goal bust for a Kickstarter campaign that is currently running, and I had the honor to paint her as a boxart.
My friend Matt Cexwish was responsible for creating the background world and the character stories.

Hey Folks,
here is the final version of Erynis from Inu Kindoms.
I got really obsessed with this bust and really wanted to create something stunning that is dark, yet glowing and full of color and texture.
The whole process took longer than I thought, so sorry for the silence inbetween.
I am working on the videos and you should be having the first episode in the next days.
In the meantime I hope you enjoy the photos of Erynis and take this as an outlook on what will follow in t...

Hey Folks,
time to paint the last little element on the body of Lauka Vai, today we will paint the nmm sword together.
For me the detail of that little pointy sword is especially impressive, it really shows the development of plastic injection mold fantasy models over the past couple of years.
Remember how swords on your Warhammer model could be so thick that you had to shade the additional surface as if it would be a part of the blade or sand it down, you ...

Hey Folks,
in today's episode, we will paint the body of Lauka Vai together. The body features a lot of different materials, we are starting with the purple armor, working our way up to the gold filigree, we are detailing out the plate mail-like diamond-shaped silver nmm elements, as one of the last things on the body we are painting the little sparkly detail of the translucent veil, filled with blood that is dangling around her waist.
Hope you like this video, that´s for be...

Hey Folks,
sorry for being so quiet, last month has been crazy with organizational and bureaucratic stuff. We also got our second covid shot, so I should be able to start real-life coachings and workshops soon, and hopefully meet you guys again on a show - once they are happening again. I have to say I miss sharing miniature passion with friends in real life.
So with a little delay... here is the in-depth color guide for the detailing process of the wings and the face. I hope you ...

When we have a look at the sculpt of lauka vai, we can really see what plastic models of today are capable of, it´s crazy to see the amount and the fineness of the details.
A female face in miniatures is for the most part finer proportioned, with fewer deeper wrinkles than male faces.
To achieve the same level of contrast, we have to focus more on the highlights and keep the darkest shadows very short and only softened out minimally.
We ad the deepest shadow only unde...

The wings are one of the parts, that have benefitted from the pre-shading technique. We have a great placement of the highlight color and still see the base color shining through in just the right amount, but we want to tie things together a bit more.
We will be using glazes of translucent paint to reestablish the color transitions. We are using a combination of wet-blending and washing the surface with the glaze.
Here the word "glaze" just describes a color that is thinned down t...

Hey Folks,
This is the second part of Lauka Vai, Mother of Nightmares. In this Episode we will see how fast we can achieve a stunning result for the monsters skin on our pre-shaded base.
You can learn a lot about glazing and feathering if you look closely, paint consistence in conjunction with the direction of the brush movement creates the magic.
The progress on her slowed down a bit because the weather here does not really allow to get much painting done, its been around 96 Fah...

Hi Folks,
here is the first chapter of Lauka Vai - Mother of Nightmares, one of the most stunning releases of the new Vampire line from Games Workshop.
We will be using a technique that I haven't been showing before, we will be using the so called pre-shading technique to introduce the initial light situation to a complex figure/monster.
For this Technique we will be first introducing the various base tones to our model, and then continue with a light glaze dusted over the whole mode...

With the help of our reference photo that we have created in the last episode of straight from the desk, we are introducing two different light sources.

If you follow this campaign like a blog , you can follow, and find the content quite well, but already going back longer than 6 month to find something can be quite annoying tbh.
Patreon has it pros and cons... but a big con for sure is how the content is structured.
