Some have asked me if Yunan had a second parent.  Yan originally fed his daughter a line that the noble Lady Longclaw died tragically in childbirth.  When Yunan didn't buy that, Yan doubled back and stated that her hussy mother threw the baby at him and told them both to go kick rocks.  If he can be believed at all, I'm leaning towards the latter....

So this part is canon: in the basement of Newtopia Castle is an underground ecosystem/dungeon that holds a bunch of alien fauna stolen from conquered planets by King Andrias's family.  Our girl Lady Olivia used to sneak down to the catacombs as a child because t'was forbidden and she was a little troll.  Thereby when she and Yunan go skulking about in the catacombs later in the show, they don't get eaten by monsters.
