Glowing Concrete (Add-On)

Hi everyone.
Glowing Concrete is Vanilla RTX's latest optional patch.
This patch makes all concrete blocks emit an equal, small amount of light, allowing for more customization & creativity while playing with light blocks in Minecraft RTX.

Black & white concrete are two exceptional blocks in this patch.
White concrete was changed to be the brightest possible material in Minecr...

Vanilla RTX 1.8.0 News

December update is brewing!

v1.8.0 will improve emissivity of blocks, ice and redefines (what I'd call) metals with blue tint, along with a lot of other changes which you'll discover in the release post.
Did you know, the little bumps on the new bamboo block top are based on average brightness of each bamboo top? Yes! that is how Vanilla RTX is made.
Vanilla textures themselves are sometimes a perfect guidance, in this specific instance, when a bamboo top has a darker average col...

Glowing Glazed Terracotta (Add-On)

A complete remake of Glowing Glazed terracotta patch.
This version is made to match the upcoming Vanilla RTX update (v1.7.8) which has overhauled normal maps & improved materials for glazed terracotta blocks.

In previous versions emissivity was based on heightmaps (only higher pixels in height glowed), but in this update I have hand-picked which parts of each block glows.
Emission is now consistent. (For instance, the yellow glowing part on lime terracotta matches the glo...

Vanilla RTX v1.7.7 News

v1.7.7 releasing in a few days is the last update of this summer.
Eight releases during 3 month, it is passing unbelievably fast (1.7.0-1.7.7), this has been an incredibly huge progress in the direction I've been taking things since v1.4.0

I'm really excited to share this update in a few days, it is a big one, changes are much more drastic, in a way that you'll definitely notice more improvements, as more of frequently-used blocks are affected.

Updates will be slowed down aft...

Story of Vanilla RTX

- This is the (almost) the full story behind Vanilla RTX
- This Patreon page was created today, September 1 of 2022, two years after the initial release of Vanilla RTX, and this is my first post, being posted on the first day.

Started mid-2020 with the goal of adding PBR support for Minecraft's default resources and textures, depending on how you look at it, it can be a really hard, time-consuming task or a quick/relatively easy one, and this is exactly what makes Vanilla RTX differe...
