UNCENSORED - Guatemala Master (PT III)

(Part 3/3)  Rotten.com, Bestgore.com, Ogrish.com - the list of shocking gore websites that have appeared since the advent of the internet reveals a fundamental morbid curiosity with the human condition. The depravity contained in the grainy images and video capturing some of the most horrific and gruesome murders is enough to drive most to look away in horror and shame. But some people actively seek out this type of gory imagery on a daily basis. Others - are literally addicted....

700 Days (Part Two)

(Part 2/2) No one lives forever. We’re all familiar with the cliché, “life is short.” But have you ever wondered just exactly how short? Have you ever considered the manner in which you might leave this earth when it’s your time to go? Death by fire, drowning, or being shot & killed are only some of the greatest fears held by many that have contemplated their own mortality. It’s very rare that these worst case scenarios will ever play out in real life...

On the evening of December 27th, 2015, 19-year-old Thomas Chan was home from college visiting family for the Christmas holiday in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. After spending Christmas and Boxing Day with family, Thomas met up with friends at a local sports bar to watch a hockey game and drink some beers. The Bridge

On July 30, 2008, 38-year-old unemployed Army veteran Scott J. Johnson sexually assaulted a 24-year-old woman off a remote bike path in the woods of East Kingsford, MI. Along the Menominee River, teetering the Michigan/Wisconsin border, Johnson aggressively forced himself upon his unwilling victim, but the sexual assault committed that afternoon was only the precursor for one man’s murderous reign of terror. Scott Johnson changed the lives of several families in an instant - when he appeare...

Felony Friday - How Many Children?

We as humans are an imperfect species. We fight and lobby for change, yet sometimes - when we start feeling like systems begin to fail, we contemplate taking matters into our own hands. In this episode, we explore three separate cases where people had the best of intentions, but ultimately chose the darkest path toward their destination for change.

The Fake Beard Bandit

On October 20, 2007, just outside of Toronto’s city limits, 26 year old Brett Ryan would rob his first bank. Disguised in hospital bandages, he handed the teller a note that read “Stay calm. I have a gun in the sling,” referencing the fake arm cast he wore, fastened from a strap around his neck. This is the story of a seemingly average college student that had every opportunity to reach true success in life, but was only interested in taking shortcuts in order to get there. Bre...

Felony Friday - Love Thy Neighbor (2)

In the New Testament, the bible states, “love thy neighbor as thyself,” and refers to the ethic of reciprocity known as the Golden Rule. But what does it really mean to love thy neighbor? Maybe it’s extending a helping hand during a time of need, or simply providing a much needed cup of sugar. Unfortunately, we don’t always know those that we live next to, or what they may be going through at any given time. Doing or saying one small thing, could be the catalyst that turns fr...

In this episode we unravel a layered reality involving mental illness, shapeshifters, and fringe conspiracy theories - examining how a case of untreated mental illness forever changed ...

Felony Friday - Friends

What is a friend? To 25-year-old Jeffrey Knoble - a friend was someone who answered his text message requesting help at 1 o’clock in the morning. A friend was someone who offered to put him up for the night in a hotel and to fill his hungry belly with food - instead of letting him sleep alone on the streets. But 32-year-old Andrew “Beep” White could never have known, that the very “friend” whose call for help he so generously answered that night - would ultimately become his murdere...

Pass the Axe

New Bedford, MA - or, “The Whaling City,” is a quaint fishing town that is one of the most multicultural & diverse in the United States. With large Portuguese, Black, and several other various ethnic communities occupying the close knit neighborhoods, New Bedford would be the last place anyone would expect to witness a horrifically violent hate crime. Yet in 2006, that’s exactly what its residents would be forced to endure. 18-year-old Jacob Robida walked into a New Bedford...

Felony Friday - The Devil's Playground

People often describe a vastly complicated social contract within the walls of prisons, both formal and informal - including the protection of allies. 29-year-old petty criminal Adam Kargus entered Elgin-Middlesex Detention Center in October of 2013 - hopeful that an acquaintance with whom he shared a mutual friend would offer him protection after he had been severely beaten on multiple occasions prior. But upon meeting his supposed “friend” and new cellmate, Anthony George, Adam...
