Hello lovely people,
How are you all on this new Monday?
On my side of things, everything is pretty good, although I am very exhausted indeed.
You may have seen on my Instagram that we have been having problems with our neighbours being very noisy and ignoring our (polite) requests for them to be quieter, which resulted in us having to sleep on our sofa for a couple nights in a row.
They eventually calmed down, and the past couple nights were quieter, ...

Hi everyone,
Here is the sketchbook PDF for February!
I managed to fit in a little more sketching time this month than I had managed last month, although not quite as much as I would like yet. Hopefully Feb will be different. :)
Sorry for my silence the past week, I have been working on the commission I have mentioned before and struggling somewhat, plus I needed to revamp my studio, as it was becoming more and more oppressive to work in.
I will be doing a Youtube vid...

Hi everyone,
Here's a small painting I did today as a practice for the bigger painting along this concept I've had planned and sketched out for a few months now.
I wanted to practice painting the birds, along with the tattoos and the transition from tattoo to bird.
It was quite the challenge, but I now feel a little more confident about starting the bigger painting.
$20 peeps, would you be interested in having this piece as your print for January?

Hi peeps,
Thought you might enjoy this new piece I did today.
I had an odd bout of Inktober nostalgia, and decided this concept would look cool in red and black. I filmed myself inking this for my video on Saturday, but I thought you might all enjoy a preview of it before then. :)
You can see my preliminary sketch above, and the final inked piece below.
I'v...

Hey peeps,
I don't know how many of you read my update post from last week (if you haven't, give it a peak, I ask you a bunch of questions about future posts and rewards ;), but in that post, I mention that I have recently been commissioned to create a video series by a big company.
Well, apparently the workshop was announced by the company online today, so I guess I c...

Hi everyone,
As you will see in today's Youtube video in a few hours, I finally got round to trying Oil Painting!
I've had oil paints for a long time now, since we use them in the prosthetic make-up industry extensively, to paint silicone pieces, such as heads, limbs, creatures...etc...
The use of oils for that type of application is hardly "typical" however, sin...

My view from the plane when I was flying home after Christmas
Hi everyone,
I thought it was about time I put together an update post, so that you can all know what to expect to see in the coming weeks. I also have a few questions and changes to pass by you to get your feedback and opinion, so if you are only interested in those, and want nothing to ...

Hi everyone!
Happy New Year!
Apologies for my lack of updates in the last few weeks, I only came back to the UK a week ago, and had a lot to sort through. My January is looking very packed so far, with both general life joys, like taxes and car insurance stuff, and work related projects, like sponsored videos and a commission I need to finish, so I'm going to need to organise myself so that I can fit everything in smoothly.
I will have a full update pos...

Hi lovely peeps!
Long time no post, I'm so sorry!
Merry Christmas to all!
Do you all celebrate Christmas? How did it go?
If you don't, what did you do instead, if anything?
Over here, we had a very simple celebration, with a movie (Bohemian Rhapsody. Twas pretty great.) and some delicious food on the 24th, and a more extensive dinner with some presents and a bit more family, on the 25th.
I got an external harddrive, because I sorely need...

Hey guys,
So, I don't know if this is of interest to any of you, but in the interest of transparency, I like to be very clear with all of you about what rewards you will be getting for your pledges at any given time, and even more so during times like now, where things work a little differently than normal and feel a bit more hectic. (especially physical rewards, as they can be the most confusing)
So here's a breakdown of what you will be receiving as part of your physical re...

Hi lovely people,
Here is the finished piece from the WIP I shared a few days ago!
I titled it "Eternal", and I'm honestly really quite happy with it.
Working on smaller pieces that only take me maybe a day, or a couple days to paint has been incredibly beneficial to my practice I think. I feel like ideas are flowing more freely, I feel less tense about painting, and also more productive. It has also helped with my overthinking problem somewhat, which is an i...

Hey everyone,
Here's another Sketch to Ink Video, this time of the last day of Inktober, day 31 "Anew".
I apologise for the blurry footage at the beginning, because my camera is behind me, I don't always notice in time if the focus is wrong.
It's a pity too, because I think this sketching footage actually gives a good idea of what my process is like, with a lot of changing my mind, erasing, trying out poses, etc...
I hope you'll enjoy it anyway!

Hi peeps,
As promised, here is the sketching footage from The Conflict!
I think this concept came to me after attempting a different one earlier in the day and failing. I was annoyed, tired, frustrated and worried I wouldn't manage another drawing that day, but then I let myself relax, breathe, and reconnect with what I really love drawing ; eery, weird, slightly disturbing almost folklorique images. And here you go.
I love this piece and I would really like to...

Hi lovely people,
So today, I thought you might enjoy seeing my "failed" attempts at Inktober 2018 drawings. :D
With Inktober, especially in the beginning, there is always a risk I will really dislike a piece I created, but I need to be careful and make the call early, so as to have enough time to create another one in the same day.
Hence why the pieces you see below are unfinished and in the beginnings of life.
These are not ideas I hate, but more ...

Hi lovely people,
Here's a quick sketch I did today to relax, and try to exercise my sketching muscles after so long.
It felt good, although my first attempt at sketching yesterday failed miserably as I was just too exhausted (you'll see that sketch in next month's PDF, haha). So I just took it really easy today and went slow and steady.
This sketch is featured in today's Youtub...

I have a sponsored video to get out on Saturday, so I did a couple of quick paintings for it.

Granted, a week late, but hey, I still have 31 more drawings than I did a month ago! So that's something! :D
Right as I finished this one, it started pouring down outside, and it felt like everything was falling into place...
I wanted this piece to reflect last year's day 31, with the same sense of relief and renewal, of shedding one's outer layer and starting afresh.
I can honestly tell you that drawing the rain was the most frustrating exper...

I HAVE ONE DAY LEFT!
I'm so excited! (In case you couldn't tell XD)
I went for a design somewhat reminiscent of my 2017 Inktober series with this drawing, with a plainer background, and the focus more fully on the human figure. It felt good, and like a sort of small tribute to a year passed.
I think I will finish it all as I did last year, with more positive design for day 31...
I hope you lovely people are all well,

Hi peeps,
Here's "Autumn" for day 29. It was obviously heavily inspired from the time of year, haha, and from the gorgeous colours that have covered our garden. And from the view from my window.
I find Autumn beautiful, cosy, and inspiring, but also melancholic, and ever so slightly sad. I often feel a mixture of emotions during that time of year, and I'm sure I can't be the only one.
That season is the physical embodiment of everything I find fascinating about ou...

Another paper themed one...
This one, to me, is about feeling fragile and small, delicate and precarious, on the edge of a darkness that threatens to swallow you whole, in a world too big and too mysterious to ever notice you are gone. But it is also about noticing the stories around us, the tales from those going through similar challenges and emotions, and being able to reach out to acknowledge them and learn from t...

Hi everyone,
Here's day 25 of my Inktober series, "Papercuts"!
This one is about cutting yourself to mistakes of your own doing, wearing yourself down bit by bit, cut by cut, but trying to see it and be aware of it, and grow from it. Sometimes, we go through things, or we try to build things that we think are good for us, when in fact they are the results of the wrong impulses, and end up hurting us more than anything. Learning to accept that we went in the wron...

Hi all,
Happy Halloween!!
What are you guys doing for it? i was never one for parties and going out, but as a prosthetic make-up artist, Halloween was obviously exciting, and today, I miss that profession quite a bit.

Hi peeps,
Sorry for my silence the past few days, the wedding was intense, and then I've been extremely tired for a few days. Hopefully this is what is going on at the moment.
