New Work Dropping on Thursday...

Remember I told you about the 'confidential commission' the other week? 

Well, I'm pleased to say that the project that features it will go live on Thursday at 12.30pm (UK).

So check back on Thursday for all the details from sketch through to completion on what turned out to be the most complicated fetish painting I've ever done.

Wow...what a year!

Exactly a year ago I posted my first fetish painting (Maid Ana) to Instagram under my phetishskin pseudonym.

Since then I've accumulated nearly 2000 followers over various social media platforms, been generously supported by you kind folk and chatted with a host of wonderful, supportive people who all share a love of fetish.

It's been a truly wonderful experience - it helped me through the frustration...

So here's the in-progress pics of how I painted up this one. I worked up the background in greyscale, did all the foreground chair detailed then pushed some 'infernal' lighting in back. Then moved onto our featured demonic mistress, face first, make-up, hair and then painted in a shiny red latex dress before going for final lighting in the finished piece.

I knew from the quote that this had to feature a heavy red palette so committed to it fully on this one.

So I've made a start, based on Gummifrau18's choice quote. I've been playing around with making our mistress look 'demonic' without going too obvious.  Lots of reds in this 'infernal' scene, I think...

Time to turn this into a tighter sketch.

Commission Finished & @Gummifrau18 Collab

So, I've FINALLY finished the '100% confidential' commission I was working on* and have immediately turned my attention to my next piece.

This I want to be a quick one as it'll likely be the piece that marks my first anniversary of this project. (And since I need a palate cleanser after a very technically demanding piece that had 7 people in it, a variety of complex outfits and props in a very specific setting!)

Update - On the Home Stretch

Just dropping a quick update to wish you all a great weekend. Sitting here on the home stretch (hopefully) on this commission - it's definitely the most complex and technically demanding fetish painting I've ever done - 7 characters, numerous props and a whole lot of shiny latex.

I'm documenting the process so if I'm ever allowed by the client to share it you'll have lots of steps.

Fingers-crossed I can get this wrapped up today/tomorrow so I can get back to normal work - especial...

The Contessa

Here's the final variations on this piece -she proved, with her many layers, to be quite an involved and technical paint.

I played around with colour schemes but found that pushing too much colour into the background was overwhelming the foreground, so, for a change, decided to go for a much more muted and delicate palette in the end.

Fun to do, but took a little longer than expected!

The Contessa - Progress

I enjoy painting layered, transparent latex - it's a fun challenge to capture the sense of slick, semi-transparent layers that shine and reflect while showing hints of what's beneath.

I also like building up images like this with different bits of clothing separated out as it means more fun variations to play with at the end.

But...it's also a bit of a mind-bending puzzler too - you think you have all your outlines drawn, your layers worked out...and then you realise that her righ...

Quick Update - A Victim of my own Success?

Enjoying working on The Contessa but letting you know that the next piece for you guys might take a little longer.

I've just been asked to do a very fun and sexy commission that the client has asked me to keep "100% confidential" - whether it's a really personal piece or intended as a gift, I'm not exactly sure, but I have to honour that.

I'll keep track of progress sketches nonetheless and when finished, if the client is happy for me to do so I'll share all the details with you.<...

The Contessa - In Progress

As you all probably know by now, backgrounds are like pizza crust for me*  - I'll prefer to attack them at the start of the meal so I can round the experience out with nothing but a delicious and flavourful cheese and tomato filled run to the finish. I don't skip them - they're an essential part of the meal and I intend to clean my plate/honour my commit to create fully rounded paintings and improve my overall skill set as a result.

So for this one it felt best to paint up from gr...

The Contessa - Flats

For a change I seem to have made it easier to create the flats for this one (famous last words) - lots of individual layers stack up on this outfit but because I took a little extra time to make sure the outlines were complete and tidy, it was much faster to do the filling and organisation.

Time to dive in and start painting proper, I think!

(Hmmmmmn.....just spots the puppy on the left has their foot in front of the Contessa's....oops...glad I spotted that now rather than later.....

The Contessa - Sketches

For this new piece, like many others of late, came from a brief image that bubbled up in my brain. I knew the composition of the scene, the angle I wanted to show it from and the content but wasn't too sure how the main character's actually fit together.

(I try to make sure that all the outfits in my paintings actually could work - including the addition of where the seam lines fall - it's a fun challenge to think those things through...and since I have ambitions to learn how to make l...

Super Quick Update

Morning everyone!

Here's a super quick update from my phone to fill in what's been happening this past week.

After posting 'Medusa' on Monday i had a private commission of a videogame cover to paint (an urgent job that meant I had to drop everything for the client). Happy to say that after a few evenings' work that's done, the client is really happy with the results and I'm back to normal now creating my normally, abnormal works.

Medusa emerged as an image during one of my daily meditation sessions - almost the inverse of the look of 'Salome'.

Medusa - Process

Medusa was a fast and fun piece to work on - once I'd got the background to where I was happy with it, it was time to devote myself to painting the main subject.

This is the first time I've painted full nudity before so turned out to be an interesting balance of just enough anatomy, smooth skin and getting enough colour variation within her skin tone to feel natural.

Medusa - Flats

Well, either that was simpler than most or I'm getting faster at doing this. Knocked the flats out in my lunch hour so I'm sitting down with the TV this evening and starting the painting.

You can probably see from the sketch and these flats there's definitely going to be a NSFW and a slightly more NSFW version of this lady.

Medusa - Sketch

Almost a sister image to Salome, this lady bubbled up from my unconscious during a meditation.  This, intended as a 'quick' piece before I dive back into more involved scenes. (Although, as you know, I couldn't resist putting something kinky and interesting in the background.)

Miss Kim Rub Portrait

And here's the portrait of Miss Kim finished.

Lovely lady, an absolute joy to paint and I'm so pleased with the fact that I could pull off the concept of the throne here.  (And the restrained palette that plays up our queen's pink locks.)
