Callisto 0.3 - Week 15 Update

Firstly a little business upfront. I have adjusted the Patreon Tiers very slightly:

- $1 Tier can download game 3 days after initial release.

- Patreons are charged up front.

The main reasons for doing this is to reduce the probability of the game getting pirated immediately on release by Patreons that either subscribe at $1 level or by signing up and then immediately leaving. Callisto 0.3 - Week 14 Update

Well first off the basketball game renders are complete. I have also included some simple animations for the ball flying through the air after a jump shot. As I will include some randomness in the coding, it will provide a little bit of suspense as to whether it's a basket or not. Callisto 0.3 - Week 12 Update

Back into the swing of things after the Christmas period. Have managed to crunch through all of the Alice backstory content and also the related images on the ship. Hence managed to get back into the main story line renders of which the image below is an example.

Image below relates to the Alice backstory event believe it or not. Had some fun customising Kara's sleepwear.

Callisto 0.3 - Week 11 Update

Unfortunately ran into a couple of snags this week relating to the final two Lia animations, which postponed other work. With these animations, I have been experimenting with animated surfaces. This was achieved via an external script, however Daz3D didn't handle rendering the image series particularly well. Callisto 0.3 - Week 10 Update

Firstly all the best to everyone for 2020. May you achieve the goals you set at the start of the year.

Things have been fairly quiet for me over the past week, however have rendered out most of the Lia animations. There is only 1 more to pose and 2 to render, which I should complete tomorrow. I have also been working on the Alice background story renders and as promised last week, there are a few samples below.

Callisto 0.3 - Week 9 Update

Currently finishing off the Lia animations, which the new video card has been handling well. For Lia alone there is already over 1000 animation frames, with about another 500 to go. There will be a total of about 25 animations for Lia, which as mentioned before will allow gameplay similar to the lewd content in Rogue Like Evolution. These should be completed in the next few days.

Next week it will be back to the still renders for the main storyline. Once I have these in the render queue...

Callisto 0.3 - Week 8 Update

Installation of the new RTX2060 video card went very smoothly, which allows far greater rendering speed. Whilst the fall back to CPU problem still exists if you go outside the GPU dedicated memory, the new video card with 8GB rather than the old 6GB makes a big difference. Whilst it doesn't sounds like much, as the old card is handling the normal display, the entire 8GB is available to Daz for rendering.

Callisto 0.3 - Week 7 Update

It has been a fairly quiet week with the issues of CPU fallback still being present. The Daz3D and nVidia technical groups are aware of the problem and are trying to fix. In the meantime, I have completed the renders for the first news broadcast and have posed 12 animations for Lia. Hopefully I can get these rendering next week.

Callisto 0.3 - Week 6 Update

Unfortunately the last week has been a bit of an exercise in frustration. As a result of a memory bug in 4.12, when rendering animations the rendering switches to CPU only from frame 2 onwards. As CPU rendering is about 10 times slower than GPU rendering, this has crippled my production this week. I have submitted a ticket to the Daz tech group (no response yet), but it doesn't look like this is going to be resolved any time soon. New Render Engine - Octane Experiment

A few days ago, Octane released a free plugin for Daz, that allows for Octane rendering from within Daz itself. So on to the more important matter, what does this mean for Callisto itself.

- Significantly increased rendering speed which allow additional animation and more complex scenes.

- Some slight changes to character appearance. I'll try to make as similar to original as possible, however the engine functions differently.

Callisto 0.3 - Week 5 Update

Had a few other matters to attend to this week, so I have spent less time developing the game than I usually would. Despite this though, the following has been completed.

- Renders for the first step in the Battle of Dione main story line event. Still have 2 more steps to do for 0.3.

- Martial arts animations for Kara and Kara / Rachel. With scene optimisation (minor quality loss), have managed to get these down to 3 minutes per frame on my GTX1060.

Callisto 0.3 Update - Week 4

Just a quick update this week, as I am immersed in the Liberation of Dione (LoD) renders. Over the past week I have finished the Kara backstory part 1 renders and made good progress on the LoD renders. The LoD renders are likely to continue throughout the course of next week.

I have also picked up some really nice martial arts aniblocks. These will not only improve the quality of the content created for the Kara martial arts training, but also save me a significant amount of time. These...

Callisto 0.3 - Week 3 Update

Hit a couple of snags this week related to the station animations. As such had to re-render these animations as a result of the following:

- Pleiades station - messed up animation of one of the emissive light sources.

- Orion station - the rotation rate of the station rings was too high.

- Beehive station - weird rendering effect from using emissive cylinders to light scene. Rendered fast, however lighting fluctuated from frame to frame giving a strobe light effect.

Sam - Human Form

The Sam character (android) in the game has a human form as in the images above. The android suit is only a clothing item within Daz. The development of this character into human form may occur starting a few updates from now. Development Update 1/11/19

With the feedback following the release of 0.21, I have created a new fast travel interface as can be seen in the first 2 images. This not only allows rapid travel between different sections of the ship, but also indicates the current location of your crew members. Still to be implemented within this interface is the inclusion of the main story line hint system.
