Latest GTA V and Enhanced update notes

Small update to manage expectations: it appears the latest update to GTA V caused some incompatibilities. As of now, Manual Transmission still works but is not fully compatible with Enhanced: one patch and one vehicle readout fail on the latest Enhanced version 1.0.889.15.

Legacy's latest version 1.0.3570.0 still works without issue.

The result should be minor (related to disabling throttle lift in some conditions, and wheel steering multiplier no...

This is an early access of an alpha release of the camera script with support for Enhanced. I wanted to release this early, such that people can play around with vehicle models and proper ray-traced reflections with vehicles in mirrors for Enhanced.

To enable it, go to "Settings" and turn on ...

GTA V Enhanced: Modding and script status

First off, the good news: Script Hook V for GTA V Enhanced has been released!
Grab it here: http://dev-c.com/GTAV/scripthookv
Script mods that don't mess directly with game memory should function on Enhanced.

Unfortunately I can also confirm that none of my advanced vehicle scripts currently work on Enhanced, and it will take a while before they do. They're deeply integrated with low level vehicle logic, so ...

Features and fixes in Manual Transmission

Manual Transmission 5.7.2

Unfortunately the camera-control-through-wheel feature added in 5.7.1 caused the camera to spin if the control was unassigned. That has been fixed with 5.7.2. Apologies for any inconvenience caused by this bug.

If you're coming from an earlier update, also check the 5.7.1 update post.

Fixes and improvements for 5.7.0

Some problems popped up due to major structural changes for new features introduced in 5.7.0, which have now been fixed. Specifically:

  • The last analog axis (Slider1) was not being picked up during assignment

  • Some buttons for analog actions could be nonfunctional

GTA V update v1.0.3323.0

Update 28 september 2024

ScriptHookV has been updated for version v1.0.3337.0! Since v1.0.3337.0, the ScriptHookV author has put in a menu of sorts inside ScriptHookV itself. I recommend using the version without UI! The version with UI blocks the ~ (tilde) key, which is required to open some of my mods by default.

License Generator 1.1.0, MT 5.6.3 & CGR 1.2.2

The updated License Generator combined with two patch releases for Manual Transmission (5.6.3) and Custom Gear Ratios (1.2.2) improve the license validation for systems with switchable graphics (such as laptops with separate GPUs).

If you use such a system, these updated versions fix issues relating to "License Expired" warnings in the scripts. For other systems, there is no change, but the checks are slightly more tolerant, so you may want to upgrade anyway.

Welcome! About this Patreon, Manual Transmission and more

Since build 1.0.3095.0 of GTA V, many of my scripts have stopped working, while I had decided to take a step back from GTA V and modding to focus on life and other things. This was unfortunate, as I did not have any intention on picking things up again, leaving many of my scripts in a broken state.

I've decided to pick things up again at a slower pace, but in a way that is worthwhile for me. Creating and maintaining mods is software development after all, which is the same as my normal ...
