Lasers and LEDs in Liquid HELIUM (4 degrees above absolute zero)

The lab I worked in had some leftover liquid helium so we froze some LEDs and laser diodes!! This vid is from my 2015 (and my commentary is pretty annoying lol) but the content is pretty cool. It's not every day you get to interact with something so unbelievably cold.

Terrifying new laser diode array with an interesting backstory

Check out this insane laser diode array. It's an early engineering sample for a tiny 25mm x 45mm laser diode array *rated* for 95W continuous of blue laser light. The funny thing is that this is supposed to be the solution for hybrid (laser driven) DLP projector manufacturers to people tearing down their products and making powerful handheld lasers out of them. Overclocked Luminglas

One of my biggest requests is to make a vid on the lightning orb that's in the background of my vids. I decided to go all out and build a massive driver for one. Now the final thing left to do is build a Faraday cage so I don't nuke everything in my shop. :D This will be one of my craziest videos yet.

New Lab

I finally got fed up of working in my old shop where it was either too cold/too hot or my measly 15 amp hookup prevented me from drawing big boy powers. I decided to rent out a bigger space with climate control and a 100 amp panel! Moving has been sort of a nightmare, as I have huge piles of junk and absolutely nothing was organized in any meaningful way. I am still moving, but I have all of my main equipment moved over. Recent temp ban

I'm sure most of you have heard by now, but I received a temporary ban from YT after getting strikes on both of my chemical formulary videos. If I get another strike soon, my channel gets permanently deleted. YT is showing their true colors there, allowing someone like logal paul to push a burning mattress into a pool, but won't let a chemist demonstrate recipes from an old chemistry book. Now I will find a way to let my patrons see my chemical formulary vids, so stay tuned for that.

explosive laser project updates

I have good news on the explosive laser project! I'm starting up experiments on this again. Esco optics will be sending me a bunch of various windows and optics for the project, and I may be getting sent a single shot optical energy meter from a company that makes laser power meters.  I've already been working on different explosive/flash mixes, and have some pretty gnarly ones that are promising for pumping a laser. I need to first finish the video on that laser sniper rifle though...

chemical formulary vid pt 2 taken down :(

YouTube just completely removed my chemical formulary part 2 vid, as well as applied a strike against my account. This was AFTER it had passed a manual review. Looks like that series ended about as soon as it started. :(

Recommendations for a good oscilloscope?

I want to explore the explosively pumped laser project again, and now with my awesome support from you guys, I can finally order an oscilloscope. I need something that I can hook a photodiode up to, and then record the intensity of flashes of light over time. I'd need resolution on the order of microseconds. Any recommendations for something like this?
