I have a lot of yammering to do in this video. I'm busting my butt on this GLCC project and preparing for a local move. You see, I got a short-term lease when I moved to Dallas much like I did when I moved to Hollywood. We just needed a place to land and get our bearings. At the end of August we're moving to a bigger place so I can get my spare costumes out of storage.
You know how brilliant I am? I booked a gig in Tulsa the weekend we're supposed to move. Ha ha ha!

This gem is from the first and only pin-up safari I did at Burlesque Hall of Fame Reunion Weekend back in '08. I went back to BHOF the next year (opening a play the night before) and did Dr. Sketchy's. I haven't been back since. It's not the cheapest way to spend a weekend. :)
Staying in the wayback machine, there are subtleties in this photo that show you I was brand-spanking new to modeling. The arch of the back, the tilt of the chin, the angle of my right foot.
I had good impuls...

I love this costume so much. I haven't done this number in a couple years because I want to rebuild parts of the costume. This was before I hand beaded and rhinestoned the panties. Photo by PhotoJenInc.
It's killing me to not share the details of my latest number-- the one for the Golden Legend competition. Seriously. I've been creating some very clever costume pieces. I worked on shaping the act with Coco Lectric. I'm dancing to such a catchy song.
Dammit! I really hope they sh...

I shot this last weekend after my gig and passed out after I left the tub. I was absolutely beat. The week has been committed to costuming for the competition. At long last, here is the latest tub tale with me yammering.

This photo shot by PhotoJenInc. in Burbank. The costume wasn't done yet. The air conditioning was out in my Mitsubishi and it was summer. My hair was melting. I couldn't find the right lip color. This act was still very new so I was a bit awkward with it.
I loved this costume and this act. Still do but I rarely perform it. I learned so much making the costume that I wanted to rebuild it with the lessons learned while making it. Of course, by the time a costume is done there are so many hours a...

This is from a set I did for Bachelor Pad Magazine a few years ago. Photo by Modern Noir. This photo had too much buttcrack for their standards then. HA!
I'm working on my Golden Legend Champion Challenge costume. It's killing me that I can't talk about the act on social media. Of course, I'm the reason the gag rule is in place.
Last year I was supposed to compete. Two months before the initial competition date, they moved up the date by a month and changed the location. I had to bow out...

You may have seen this over the weekend. I won Most Comedic at the Oklahoma City Burlesque Festival on Saturday! I now have a golden buffalo. Woo hoo! I performed my very classic showgirl number. It was a wonderfully curated event. And I fucking won.
OMGorn! I WON!
I named the buffalo Moe. I want more prizes like this. I love the nonsense of it all. I can learn to dust if I can fill my mantle with these ridiculous things and Kings bobbleheads.

It took me a damn week to get this up! I blame Stanley Cup Playoffs. There were plenty of other things, but mostly I blame the Playoffs.
I had to go low res because I couldn't shut the hell up. Surprise surprise.

It looks like I'll be moving from this place with the giant garden tub at the end of August... to another place with a giant garden tub!

Why have I never considered a glove peel like this before this act? I mean, I can peel a glove with my butt but I never did a glove peel that was so... butthole centric.
This is from "Up All Night" at Metalesque in Austin at the end of May. You can see my LED-lit hair and my LED-lit costume. I had to whip this costume together but I relied on a pattern I've used for other things.
This photo isn't available in the world. You get to see my nonsense.

This is from last month's appearance at Texas Burlesque Festival. I don't share this video publicly because I promote the act as Very Classic Burlesque. I want the audience to believe that things are actually going wrong. I was delighted to find out that there were people in the audience that bought it.
I was also delighted that the crew enjoyed the act. They've never seen someone perform to this song until me.
Enjoy. And thank you for your support. It helps me do things like the Texas B...

You guys get raw Snapper. No makeup, messy bun, bathtub relaxation time.
I was so busy running around for gigs and stuff this month that I didn't have time to take a bath until Monday! I had gigs in Dallas, Los Angeles, Dallas again, and I head to Austin tomorrow. It's been a feasting month for gigs.

Photo by Mr. Snapper at Deep Creek Hot Springs a couple summers ago. This one didn't make publication. Of course, if it was published it would've been in black & white.
I'm headed back to Los Angeles for a few days today. I have three gigs and two classes to teach. It's going to be different visiting California. I never visited; I only lived there.
What is hilarious is that I'm performing three different numbers on this trip that I've only performed once.

I'm pleased to announce I'm doing my tribute to Slaughter at Layna D'Luna's METALESQUE!!! in Austin on May 27th. I grew up listening to glam metal and transitioned into grunge as a young one. My hair was too heavy to really tease very well. I went to so many concerts in hacked jeans and t-shirts, bikini top beneath so I could peel off my shirt when I got too sweaty. (I liked getting close to the stage.)
I bought this wig from Amazon. I styled it and installed the LEDs over the weekend. I'm pro...

It took me a hot minute to get that video loaded! Here's the link , password at the bottom.
The hailstorm that passed through Dallas totaled my car! Pretty crazy, right? I was so young and naive when this video was shot on Monday. My car was assessed Wednesday and we got the news Thursday. I've been sorting my life out since then. Looks like I'm shopping for a different car. Whee!
I appreciate your support so much.

This is from an unreleased photo set with Evie Lovelle shot by Madison Hurley Fuentez in Hot Springs a couple years ago.
A very generous patron loaned us his many bedroom Airbnb house. This place could easily sleep eleven people comfortably. It also had a hot tub in the back but Decembers in Arkansas are typically a little too cold for hot tubbing. I loved the furniture in this bedroom so we had to shoot in it.
We pitched the photo set to a magazine. The photos weren't retro enough.

I'm familiar with this issue where someone has a really cool idea. Sometimes it's me, sometimes it's the photographer, sometimes it's someone on my "creative team." (I think you guys now qualify as creative team now.) "Oooh! You know what would be cool?" So we try it.

I created many acts my first year in burlesque. Any time a theme show would pop up, I would say yes to doing it. This was my Tiki Room act, created for a pirate-themed show that happened once or twice at the Redwood in downtown Los Angeles.
This was back when I still wore a navel ring. I was terrible about changing it out to match my costume. I worked a desk job in an office during the day and wasn't really showing it off much anyway. I took the ring out later that year.
I stopped perfor...

This is secret video. It's from my performance at Viva Dallas Burlesque at the beginning of the month, but the music is by an artist who has passed. Said artist was notorious for eliminating his music from any videos that used it. The performance is mine, the music is his.
I made the gown, gauntlets, pasties and boa. I embellished panties and a corset made by someone else. I wanted bright, fun colors for this act. My current branding is quirky-classic, playful sexuality in my burlesque acts.

This is what happens when I'm left with my imagination. I turn a standard parade and pose strip into a shrimp transformation. I happened to have all the components except the headdress. The mister helped me crank that out in less than 24 hours.
I can make a better headdress. I can let my imagination run wild, yeah?
What is wrong with me?

I've been in Dallas for just over two weeks. Moving cross country is a bit... traumatic. I'm a problem solver and enjoy challenges so I adjust. It took a little over a week for the dogs to realize we weren't just staying in another hotel. I still haven't finished unpacking the stuff I'm utilizing in my short-term apartment.
There are little things that I haven't problem solved, like my new local go-to restaurant. I lived down the street from a family-owned and operated Greek place that had bee...

I've been in a long break-up with Los Angeles. It's like the lover you know that's bad for you but still excites you.
It costs way too much for me to continue living here and to afford travel. I can live somewhere less expensive where my dollar stretches farther.

Here's a shot from a recent performance as Sailor Jupiter. Photo by Sven Stucky.
Last year I was asked to create a Sailor Jupiter act for a show. That act has been booked so many times! I dance around to that one Divinyls song and celebrate the deflowering of Sailor Jupiter. (She's the sailor scout with the biggest... talents. She's rough and tough but also romantic.)
I end the act by pulling petals out of my underpants and tossing them at the audience. This year there was no end to the ...

The final in the set from Madison Hurley Fuentez.
I took a workshop with burlesque legend Satan's Angel years ago. She said to never put your finger in your mouth because that's what pedophiles like.
She told a room full of grown-ass burlesque dancers not to do something. We weren't children, so why tell us it was something pedophiles like. It was so strangely specific.
And I thought it was hilarious. I try to work the finger-in-mouth thing into different acts and photoshoots becau...

The hair is fake. Not all of it. Just the top poof. I found a good fake hair match back in '08 and got a few styles to beef up my hair when needed. It was raining so hard the day I shot this that I needed the reliability of a little fake hair. Shot by Madison Hurley Fuentez.

Another one from my shoot with Madison Hurley Fuentez. I love these pants! Shoes are from Kitten Natividad and are so high I have the worst time walking in them.
I'd love to do an act where I strip out of these pants, but I could never do an act in these shoes. Of course, I'm busy working on three other acts right now.

Hi friends!
I have a lot of stuff happening in my little Los Angeles world. I'm moving out of my residence since 2003 in the next few months and I have accumulated a lot of crap! I'm working on a few new acts, travel plans and trying to get rid of stuff I forgot I had. I'm sure you can relate.

When my friend over at Modern Noir said, "Let's do a holiday shoot!" a couple years ago, I had no idea I'd be tied up in a gift ribbon. Gals do photos in rope harnesses like this all the time. I promise you it is not comfortable.
I hope 2016 has given you some happiness and hasn't chafed in all the wrong places. Looking forward to 2017. :)
