I have a lot of yammering to do in this video. I'm busting my butt on this GLCC project and preparing for a local move. You see, I got a short-term lease when I moved to Dallas much like I did when I moved to Hollywood. We just needed a place to land and get our bearings. At the end of August we're moving to a bigger place so I can get my spare costumes out of storage.

You know how brilliant I am? I booked a gig in Tulsa the weekend we're supposed to move. Ha ha ha!

Look Ma, I'm a model or something!

This gem is from the first and only pin-up safari I did at Burlesque Hall of Fame Reunion Weekend back in '08. I went back to BHOF the next year (opening a play the night before) and did Dr. Sketchy's. I haven't been back since. It's not the cheapest way to spend a weekend. :)

You may have seen this over the weekend. I won Most Comedic at the Oklahoma City Burlesque Festival on Saturday! I now have a golden buffalo. Woo hoo! I performed my very classic showgirl number. It was a wonderfully curated event. And I fucking won.

Butthole glove peel time.

Why have I never considered a glove peel like this before this act? I mean, I can peel a glove with my butt but I never did a glove peel that was so... butthole centric.

This is from "Up All Night" at Metalesque in Austin at the end of May. You can see my LED-lit hair and my LED-lit costume. I had to whip this costume together but I relied on a pattern I've used for other things.

Texas Burlesque Festival 2017

This is from last month's appearance at Texas Burlesque Festival. I don't share this video publicly because I promote the act as Very Classic Burlesque. I want the audience to believe that things are actually going wrong. I was delighted to find out that there were people in the audience that bought it.

Back to the Golden State

I'm pleased to announce I'm doing my tribute to Slaughter at Layna D'Luna's METALESQUE!!! in Austin on May 27th. I grew up listening to glam metal and transitioned into grunge as a young one. My hair was too heavy to really tease very well. I went to so many concerts in hacked jeans and t-shirts, bikini top beneath so I could peel off my shirt when I got too sweaty. The hailstorm that passed through Dallas totaled my car! Pretty crazy, right? I was so young and naive when this video was shot on Monday. My car was assessed Wednesday and we got the news Thursday. I've been sorting my life out since then. Looks like I'm shopping for a different car. Whee!

This is from an unreleased photo set with Evie Lovelle shot by Madison Hurley Fuentez in Hot Springs a couple years ago.

A very generous patron loaned us his many bedroom Airbnb house. This place could easily sleep eleven people comfortably. It also had a hot tub in the back but Decembers in Arkansas are typically a little too cold for hot tubbing. I loved the furniture in this bedroom so we had to shoot in it.

We pitched the photo set to a magazine. The photos weren't retro enough.

Comedy, tragedy and the beaver

I created many acts my first year in burlesque. Any time a theme show would pop up, I would say yes to doing it. This was my Tiki Room act, created for a pirate-themed show that happened once or twice at the Redwood in downtown Los Angeles.

This was back when I still wore a navel ring. I was terrible about changing it out to match my costume. I worked a desk job in an office during the day and wasn't really showing it off much anyway. I took the ring out later that year.

This is secret video. It's from my performance at Viva Dallas Burlesque at the beginning of the month, but the music is by an artist who has passed. Said artist was notorious for eliminating his music from any videos that used it. The performance is mine, the music is his.

Howdy, y'all!

I've been in Dallas for just over two weeks. Moving cross country is a bit... traumatic. I'm a problem solver and enjoy challenges so I adjust. It took a little over a week for the dogs to realize we weren't just staying in another hotel. I still haven't finished unpacking the stuff I'm utilizing in my short-term apartment.

Goodbye, California

I've been in a long break-up with Los Angeles. It's like the lover you know that's bad for you but still excites you.

It costs way too much for me to continue living here and to afford travel. I can live somewhere less expensive where my dollar stretches farther.

I've been saying goodbye for months. I've been busy throwing things away and packing for the past couple months.

Tuesday we leave for Dallas. I was born in the South and Dallas has been good to me.

Last year I was asked to create a Sailor Jupiter act for a show. That act has been booked so many times! I dance around to that one Divinyls song and celebrate the deflowering of Sailor Jupiter. (She's the sailor scout with the biggest... talents. She's rough and tough but also romantic.)

Fake with a side of realness

The boobs are real. I mean, they're homegrown.

Closing out 2016 with a holiday cocktail

When my friend over at Modern Noir said, "Let's do a holiday shoot!" a couple years ago, I had no idea I'd be tied up in a gift ribbon. Gals do photos in rope harnesses like this all the time. I promise you it is not comfortable.

I hope 2016 has given you some happiness and hasn't chafed in all the wrong places. Looking forward to 2017. :)
