This is one of the only "modern" setting artworks I've done where no one is a vampire, or some kind of monster. The other one was also a BDSM thing. I've entertained the idea of doing some kind of modern-setting BDSM club/dungeon project, but... I think I've got a lot more important things to do before then!

I thought you guys might want a second look at her. I think "Librarian" might be a sort of general term for the castle's in-house keepers and investigators of facts and knowledge (since they've both got some alchemy-related accoutrements in their rooms).

They're still kind of lowly servants though. Mostly, they curate and copy books and maps owned by the royal family, they can assist in inquiries of history, noble genealogy, royal records, act as scriveners or not...

Any crew would be lucky to have a Grey Hybrid navigator on the team. She's smart, responsible, tech savvy, and her enormous brain can intuit the mysterious calculations required to fold space. I have this idea that the characters in the SFK are actors who go and shoot scenes on stage sets, and then go home afterward and just exist in the modern world. Maybe sometime I'll do another image like this, of SFK characters in everyday life.

There are elves in the SFK who regularly work with humans, usually as servants or chambermaids. They don't necessarily keep their affiliation with their birth clans, and may be known as "City Elves". A librarian at the Royal Library may get to live in the palace, but is still little more than a clerk....

Carrots for Catgirls
