Hellmouth

“After days of surviving the insane heat of the flowing lava fields, jumping from one jagged broken rock to another, the party finally spot their destination. Through the heavily ashen clouds two red horns curve upwards towards the sky from a bone white skull.

50ft across the giant devil skull lies staring at the red sky. It’s eye sockets oozing a ceaseless stream of lava down it’s sides, weeping at the injustice of it’s fate.

Supposedly their quarry lay beyond...

Remains to be Seen

Hey Ya'll,

Hot on the heals of last weeks release, and absolutely not inspired by the WOTC new module Decent in to Avernus, I have a nice hell scape for you. This plus size gargantuan dragon, long since felled, lies dormant within a flux of constant lava flow. Used as a landmark by those unfortunate enough to live within this hellscape it's best avoided but still some adventurers wander unknowin...

Journeys Respite

Hey all,

Sorry for the hiccup in releases, I’ve been away from my drawing materials with one thing and another but I’m hoping to make up for it with a couple of releases in quick succession.

First up we have this travellers camp, where those on the long and dusty road can hitch up and share stories. I always find these kinds of maps perfect for random wilderness encounters that the party might get themselves in to. 2019-09-19 18:17:31 +0000 UTC View Post

Frozen Dungeon - Sage's Library

Hey all,

Books and possible loot everywhere on this one. I found myself getting caught again in the little time consuming details on this one but eventually managed to pull through.

I see this chamber inhabited by an eccentric Mage, slowly hoarding all the information they can towards whatever nefarious or misguiding ideals they might have. I was particularly happy with the dragon skull in...

Sneak Peak - Sage's Library

Hey all,

I'm currently busy working away on this Wizards Retreat or Sage's Library, a hidden room within the cavernous sprawling frozen dungeon.

The idea for this map came from Charlie and his suggestion on my last map for a library. I've drifted away a little bit from doing a straight library that you might expect to see and turned it more in to a solitary researchers extensive collection of books and curios.

Overall I still haven’t learnt my lesson app...

Frozen Dungeon - Fallen Tomb

Hey all,

Here we have it, the latest in the Frozen Dungeon series, the fallen tomb of an unknown hero. This was really good fun to do and I enjoyed the extra details that I could go in to and I feel like in this map I've started to hone and improve on my style. Making it a bit more crisp and cleaner whilst still maintaining detail and texture is a challenge but one that I've enjoyed.I have plent...

Fallen Tomb - Sneak Peak

Hey all,

So after our brief isometric interlude I'm back to the modular Frozen Dungeon - I still have a few chambers to go on this before I will rise once more above ground.

"This round chamber was once a burial room for a fallen champion in centuries long forgotten. Over the hundreds of years since being laid to rest and sealed within this room it's suffered two attempts to gain access to any treasures that might be within. The first would be grave robbers se...

Map Release - Warren Run

Hey all!

So here is part two of the isometric bridge map - a warren of tunnels that connect the two sides. Plenty of dead ends and some rather tricky underwater navigation that only the fool hardy would attempt should have your players tearing their hair out as they traverse this mini-dungeon. My thought with this dungeon is that either the players get word of sunken treasure beneath the bridge,...

Sneak Peak - Bridge Folly: Part Deux

Hey all,

Perhaps the main driving force for the previous map was the idea for this one - an isometric dungeon crawl down from one side of the cliffs to the other. There are a fair few dead ends and false exits to frustrate your players as they try to cross from one side to the other, but also plenty of places to pick up loot to make it all worth it. If you’re concerned that the players might p...

Map Release - Bridge Folly

Hey all,

A classic, 'your party arrives at a bridge' encounter. Perfect for lower level adventuring parties who are yet to have access to any flying abilities or spells. Any number of trolls, bandits or goblins could be lurking - ready to shake down the adventurers for their hard earned gold.

The fall to the rock strewn and fast flowing river could also prove fatal to many an unwise traveller. To increase this risk in the future I'm thinking I will update this map with...

Sneak Peak - Isometric Bridge

Hey all

As I mentioned in the last post we’re having a brief break from the Frozen Dungeon series to go back above ground so I can pull out some greens and blues for a change. I’ve only released one isometric map in the past but I’ve been itching to do another one and with the opportunity to get above ground for a bit I couldn’t resist to take on a bridge over a deep gorge.

This map will be released in two parts - the first will be the one above ground view as you see here...

Frozen Dungeon - Living Quarters

Hey All,

Here we have it - the guard or bandit quarters within this hollowed out cavern, it comes complete with a hidden room full of goodies that have been found within the sprawling dungeon.

I found it a bit of a challenge to populate the chamber with enough assets to make it feel lived in and ‘realistic’ but not too many to crowd the space.I think in the end I struck a good balance between the two. Plenty of boxes, chest and little things for the players to rif...

Bunk House / Bandit Den - Sneak Peak

So your intrepid adventures have made it past the trapped guardroom and find themselves confronted by another door - this one of a more hasty construction and a firm couple of blows breaks it open to reveal a repurposed cavern. Immediately visible is a canteen and mess area - wooden partition screens divide the rest of the cavern off with bunks and beds within each.

This map is the start of a c...

Guard Room - Frozen Dungeon - Map

Hey all,

Here’s the map release for the Guard Room and the first four connector pieces for the Frozen Dungeon Series. This classic locked door guard room is designed to be simple to start with but reveal more as the players are either set upon by hidden guards, who pull leavers to bring down the portcullis before firing through the arrow slits. Or perhaps the guards are the four statues within...

Cave Entrance - Frozen Dungeon - Map

Hey all,

So here's the new map, a frosted cave entrance, to go with the Frozen Dungeon series. I'm really pleased with how this map came together and how the whole series is starting to look. I'm sure it'll be a good challenge for your players as they struggle to gain a foothold within this labyrinth of caves. The next couple of maps I have planned include a bunk room and a trap / guard room tha...

Frozen Dungeon - Throne Room - Tier 01

Hey all!

"Deep within the undisturbed caverns lies this long forgotten throne room. Once having been the seat of power of the under-mountain king it’s now hollow and abandoned. When the war came for the pervious inhabitants it picked them apart in a series of silent underground battles and before they could rally a defence their most inner sanctums where being overrun.
In the years that have past since, anything useful or of worth has been ...

Campfire Stories - Free Map

Hey all,

The next map in the frozen dungeon series, Throne Room, is very much coming together but I thought I'd share this bonus map as a little freebie for the whole community in the meantime. I used some of my assets from previous maps to make this as a nice random encounter map. When creating it I had in mind somewhere the party might stop on the trail, share stories and get ambushed :)

And so this map comes in three flavours; day, night and campfire so you have a bit mor...

Frozen Dungeon - Forgotten Icons

Hey all,

So as I mentioned in my last post this is the start of a grand modular dungeon map pack. Next week I’ll be releasing another large chamber and then after that a series of connecting pieces so you’ll be able to start putting together your own multi-level dungeon or use them as one off maps.

Trying to put together a frozen feel to this chamber was certainly a challenge for me, but I’m pretty pleased with how it’s turned out overall. There are a lot of el...

Toppled Tower - Map

Hey all!

This tower once stood high and proud on the hill as a lookout post and tax station for the surrounding lands. It now lays toppled and disused, destroyed years ago by marauding hill giants invading the lands. Used now as a way marker and camping spot for passing travellers it offers a good view over the surrounding countryside for advance warning of anything approaching.

What would surprise many who use the tower is that if they where to move certain stones the...

Cavern Waterfall - Map

So here we are, one finished isometric cavern map. My players certainly had a blast on it, here they came up against a pack of Gnolls who rained arrows down upon them from the top ledge whilst others rushed out from the stalagmites to face them in close combat.

The higher ground, dim light and fast flowing river provided the party a host of terrain obstacles to overcome in this encounter. A couple of them ended up in the river, one unconscious, and where quickly pulled along by the rive...

Thieves Nest

Hey all,

Here we have it - Thieves Nest. As I mentioned before I wanted to create the classic underbelly of the city, a place players might be sent to rout out a troublesome band of thieves or perhaps join them in a series of underhanded quests. When designing the space I kept plenty of entry and exit points for all the nefarious comings and goings - and so if the party did rout the thieves they’d have plenty of bolt holes.

And here we have it - a nice open random encounter map perfect for the busy DM looking to ambush their party on the go - running out of prepared content for today’s game? BAM! Let the players chew on a random encounter for the next hour whilst you work out where it leads.

So with this map you've got plenty of cover and options to ambush the party - highwaymen, roving barbarians or in my...

Desecrated Temple

Hi All!

I’m excited to release this first map to my early patrons. This large desecrated temple has lots of versatility with hidden doors and secret exits. The driving idea behind this map is that a group of creatures; Goblins, Hobgoblins or Gnolls, have claimed this temple as their own and the players must dig them out.

When creating this map I wanted to give players plenty of op...
