Progress Update

Thistlemine Bouquet

Translations are about 95% finished. Might be done this month, I don't know. Once everything is cleared out, there's JP playtesting, further bugfixing, and the eventual release. Not much else to say.

I've been entertaining the idea of porting Graveyard's dialogue, choice, and battle UI to Bouquet. I may do so in a future post-release update.

Unscheduled Update (v1.11 "Rift")

Major changes:
- 90% of Glass Eye descriptions have been rewritten, alongside some dialogue
- The Black Watch Rift has been added

Minor fixes:
- Changed some of Yselle's skill priorities to allow her to move first
- Micro adjustments to some battles to allow unconventional strategies
- Fixed some item costs
- Various changes and fixes I forgot to write in the change log

I've also been working on the gameplay trailers. There's 4 of them that's ab...

Thistlemine Patreon Build v1.08

End of the line. Good luck, and have fun. Steam release soon.

The final act, the End Garden, has been cut due to the scale of it doubling the size of the base game. I'd hope to make it a free update in the future, but only my health and sanity will tell. Thistlemine's structure is, in a word, maddening. There's about 5 layers of mechanics to sift through with each test session, all of it just barely balanced to work across the spaghetti of subroutes. Wo...

New Ambience Crossfade

Thistlemine's soundscape has been altered to reflect the setting and tone a little better. Less gamey than before, but it should make it more pleasant to navigate through the puzzles. Especially when hunting down alternate paths and taking on the "true" puzzles of each area.

I spent more time making these than I'd like to admit. I think I did manage to get a unique sound and tone in the end, however. Neither gamey or realistic, alien and still familiar, unsettling but calming, dreamlik...

Final Days

Ironing out the bugs and finishing up what's necessary. May be done at the end of this month or early next month. I'll see if I can distribute the English version to Patrons early as its still being translated to Japanese, but in the mean time, this chapter of Thistlemine is concluded and just about ready to go.

There's still a few things to touch up like audio, a few attack animations, and maybe a couple QoL improvements. Besides that, there's really nothing left to do or add.

Progress Update (That patreon apparently didn't post in December)

Seinneia's theme finally came in, composed by かたほとり and sung by 愛原圭織. I've been a fan of their work since プチリズムCHU and the formation of ちぃむdmp☆ back in like 2010 or 2011. I still can't believe they made something and I honestly have no idea if I'm having a psychotic episode. It was an incredibly stupid request turned into an incredibly good song. I don't know how they did it.

Progress Update

Several new animations added for a number of attacks. And the soundtrack for the Light Garden has been completed, entirely done by the wonderful kidlit.

There's not much to write aside from development concluding either sometime this month, or early next month. Updates going forward is largely going to consist of animations, art book progress, and probably music. Release date is still undecided.

Assuming I can figure out how to implement the content I've cut, which had to be done ...

Thistlemine v0.9 Update

The primary showcase for this update is the revamped tutorial area, item upgrades, stat rebalances, and the opened solo route. 2 super bosses have been added, one optional with her own puzzle area, and the other is a mandatory encounter in the solo route. They are stupid hard, and one demands a 70 turn attack string (no items, no scrumpy).

Enemies have received various changed. Some changes are mere numbers, others are entire attack patterns. The basic solution to their battles remain t...

Thistlemine v0.8 Release

Thistlemine is now playable from beginning to end. There's still a lot of placeholders present, and plenty of polishing that still needs to be done, especially in the alternate routes. It is, however, in a satisfactory and playable state.

You can temporarily download it from here.

Good luck.

Thistlemine PROTOTYPE

The prototype of the game. It's buggy as all hell and more or less a thing of pure comedy, but it outlines what to expect in the later parts of the game. Whatever psychological damage you receive is by all accounts self-inflicted, caused by your own morbid curiosity.

It isn't a sane decision to play a prototype in the first place, especially for a game like this. But it does work once you get past the jank.
