The UFO vid is almost there, but… we’ve still got one final thing to film. We’re going to Lakenheath tomorrow to do that, and if you’ve been following the news… you’ll know why.

We were going today, but the weather is going to be foul apparently, so we’ve postponed it. I should get the rest of the video pretty much in order today, and then it should be relatively easy to drop the new footage in.

Hello, gang.

Firstly, apologies to Biffo's Brain folk, but we're going to bump this week's Zoom to next week. I'm stuck in the edit of the UFO vid, and feel a tad discombobulated by it all, so I just want to keep ploughing on to get it done - I need to move onto Digi Level 2 asap. We'll aim to make it a good Zoom next week, and open it up to Writer's Club too.

It's by far the most complex editing I've ever had to do on any video we've ever made - from Found Footage to Digi Level 2...

MONDAY BLOG - UF-OH!

Happy Monday, gang.

So, filming was… challenging. The weather was just not playing ball – full-on blizzard on Friday, then trying to navigate the Peak District through more snow on Saturday, followed by Storm Bert on Sunday. Audio struggles in places, and some of it we’ll have to replace with voiceover – I’ve actually just bought some new mics with better noise reduction - but it’s still shaping up to be a special video. DAY 3 FILMING PHOTOS... FOR NOW

We didn't task as many pics today, mainly due to Storm Bert reasons, but here are a few. Top one shows the bizarre temperature difference between Sanja and I. This aligns with what we already knew - she's always too cold, I'm always too hot - but it's nice to have it confirmed by science.

NEW VIDEO... NEW CHARACTERS... NEW GEAR

Tomorrow... we kick off three days of filming. Today... we're packing our kit. And yes: we've finally taken the plunge and invested in a drone (as well as some other new bits and pieces). I love this moment before we film... We plan as much as we can, but we deliberately leave room for happy accidents. Consequently, there's also a sort of excited giddiness because we never quite know what to expect. We'll keep you furnished with pics and updates.

THE DAD FILES

Happy Tuesday, you lot. The UFO theme I shared last week... I ended up extending, quite a lot, whenever I had a bit of time over the past few weeks. And I rather like it. Listen above (though I appreciate most of you aren't here for that.

Anyway. Please… allow me to whinge briefly.

In exciting news, Sanja and I can’t shift this bastard cough. We were both awake for a chunk of last night just coughing and coughing and coughing. Other than that, I feel a lot better at least, so...

UPPER TIERS: BIGFOOT AND ALIENS... THEY WANT TO BELIEVE

Morning, Patrons. It’s Saturday! Hurrah. This week has been a slog. Had a load of work stuff to get out of the way – so we can film next week – but getting through it all with a cold was a right grind. It’s not even that bad a cold, just bad enough to make me want to switch off my brain, and it’s still lingering. Sanja seems to have it worse than me though. She tested for you-know-what, but it seems to be merely a stinker.

Anyway… that’s enough health-whingeing. 

UPPER TIERS: UFO...? No - U-FO!

The UFO ep is coming together. I think it's going to be another epic. We may not get videos out every week, but at least you get your money's worth when we do! It's such a huge topic that I just hope we can do it justice; my goal is to keep it as pacy as the big cat video.

Also: we've found our astrophysicist! She has an up-and-coming YouTube channel, and the right sort of energy for Digi. She should bring a dose of rationality to the subject.

WATCH THE (BLUE) SKIES

Hello Patrons!

I’ve got a cough/cold/sore throat thing. It's not bad, but the next vid may be delayed slightly. We’d planned to go away to film at the end of this week, but we’re going to bump it to the start of next week instead. Sanja also seems to be coming down with it now, so at least we’re ill at the same time, and should be back to full health by the time we do filming.

However, this week we’ll still be working on the research and voice-over bits of the video, and...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY 'MY PARENTS ARE ALIENS'...!

This week marked 25 years of My Parents Are Aliens. I came onto the show in its fourth series, with an episode called Fish Fingers. I’d been recommended after writing on two series of Sooty, and I ended up writing until the end of the series. Heck: I wrote what turned out to be the final episode. It wasn't meant to be the final ep - but ITV stopped making all kids' shows, which brought things to an abrupt end.

WHY MY CATS GONE?

Hello, gang. Apologies, but I won't be able to get the new video to you tonight. After four hours of it uploading, we just finished watching it back, aaaaand.... two bits of footage hadn't rendered properly.

So, I've fixed it, and it's ready to go, but I'll have to get it to you first thing instead. I'm not doing a premiere with it now, so you'll have all of tomorrow and Thursday before it goes up for the hoi polloi.
