In March 1996, Karina prepared to leave her small village of fewer than 100 people for Dover, which had a population of around 4,000. Although outgoing and social, Karina was quite dependent on her friends and family. By working in America, she hoped to show her parents that she could stand on her own two feet.

Karina was happy and excited as she farewelled her family at the airport. Just before she boarded the plane, she said: “I hope I’m doing the right thing.”...

Case 199: Truro

When Valda heard about the bone, she was rattled. The bushland surrounding Truro was dry and brittle and definitely wasn’t suitable for cattle grazing. It was an inhospitable area for anything other than rabbits and native wildlife, and Valda couldn’t recall ever seeing cows during her previous visits out there.

Case 194: Lake Bodom

Nestled in the centre of a clearing hidden amongst tall birch and pine trees was a small, light-coloured A-frame tent. Ruth Koli had spotted it as she wandered through the glade with her five-year-old daughter. The secluded campsite overlooked Lake Bodom’s clear and tranquil waters from a vantage point along the eastern peninsula. The tent itself was not an unusual find.

Patreon Picks: Voting Now Open

Hi Patrons. We had to take down the previous Patreon Picks poll due to an error.

Apologies to those who had already voted. Feel free to vote again or for the first time by picking an option below. For fairness sake, we've provided some new quotes to choose from. All four quotes are from just two episodes. We'll do the math and whichever episode gets the most total votes will be the one released.

Sorry for the mix-up.
