[Update 1.1][Skyrim SE/AE] Goetia Animations - Female Idle Walk And Run

As per popular vote, I'm glad to bring you the first mod in my third animation series "Goetia" which consists of a 25 seconds Idle, two-cycle walk and run for female characters, this series will be revolving around the mage/witch archetypes, and overhauling magic and casting animations while going for a darker character personality than "Vanargand".

This can be used as a vanilla replacer or as a "Dynamic Animation Replacer" folder structure that is compatible with my previously released mods through "Conditional Armor Type Animations", and their respective CATA Addons.

If using the CATA Addon version, the characters (PC and NPCs) will use these animations when non-armored, wearing a piece of clothing, has a magicka pool of at least 300 (items/buffs apply) and is at least level 65 in any of the 5 major magic schools (can be changed from "_conditions.txt").

Let me know what you think!

On a side note, here is my first Skyrim animation set for comparison ^^ https://youtu.be/KnbURUA-s9s

Use any mod manager or manually copy the content from the attached file's 'Data' folder into your Skyrim's 'Data' folder.

True Directional Movement is highly recommended.

--------------------------------------

[Update 1.1]

  • Tweaked and polished all the animations (Preview video).
  • Added 5 seconds to the final segment of the idle, the idle is now 30 seconds long.
  • Updated LE version as well, 360 movement behavior LE is highly recommended.

[WIP] Multi cycle walk animation for magic users

I've spent about 8 hours so far working on this new walk animation, which consists of 3 subtly different 68 frame cycles (204 frames rendered in Blender at 60fps) to help reduce the repetitive nature of hand made walk animations.

As I've learned from the previous series, the base animations (idle, walk, run and sprint) are going to be crucial to the overall quality of their series as they'll have to blend fairly well with the combat animations, so your feedback is most welcome!

[Skyrim SE/AE] Vanargand Animations - Sneak Crossbows

After lots of testing and taking notes (and coffee ^^), I'm glad to finally bring you the (probably) final set for a while in the Vanargand series, sneak crossbow animations, in addition to the new animations, this will ensure that the character will keep facing the same direction while aiming and moving in any direction, as opposed to the vanilla animations.

As for what's coming next, I'll make a poll so we can choose what to work on in the near future.

These animations will replace, while sneaking and holding a crossbow, the idle, walks, runs, draw/reload bolt, aimed idle, aimed bolt turn, bolt release, equip and unequip, including specific adjustments for Dwarven crossbows where possible.

The main DAR folder is 68392, the folder 68393 was needed due to how the "IsSneaking()" condition works and will help provide better blending between the standing and the sneaking crossbow animations.

Use any mod manager or manually copy the content from the attached file's 'Data' folder into your Skyrim's 'Data' folder.

Dynamic Animation Replacer is required.

True Directional Movement is highly recommended.

[Skyrim SE/AE] Vanargand Animations - Crossbows

Phew this one was tricky, unlike bow animations, crossbows don't have standalone files for movement while aiming, instead it blends some bones from the aimed idle with the non-aimed walking animations, which already blend with the running animations as I've come to expect from Skyrim, keeping notes of which bones' data take priority on which animation was key to getting balanced blending.

Also seems to apply to sneak crossbow animations, which I'll be getting into very soon.

Special thanks to Kars! Who brought neat quality of life improvements to the rig I used to make this, which allowed me to visualize crossbows (sheathed and unsheathed!) in Blender instead of relying on trial and error.

Make sure you uninstall the WIP version.

New pc build, up and running!

Tremendous thanks to you guys for being so kind and understanding!

Time to pick up the momentum again and resume working on new animations, you make the effort worth it!

An unexpected delay

I'm sorry to inform you guys that my pc has decided to suddenly stop working, after some troubleshooting we've found out that the PSU has died, and changing it resulted in the pc powering on but getting no POST. However, most of its hardware was getting quite old and I was looking for an incentive to get a new more up to date rig, and sure enough, I'm working on it as I'm writing this! From the looks of it, this new rig should be ready sometime next week, after which, I will be able to resume working on the crossbow animations.

[WIP] Vanargand Animations - Crossbows

Time to show some love to Crossbows as well, and to potentially close, for the time being, the Vanargand series and move on to something else, still not entirely sure though, I'll probably make a poll after this is done so we can decide what comes next, let me know what you think!

Attached, you'll find the test files showcased in the video. I'd highly recommend using True Directional Movement if you don't have it already.

[Skyrim SE][SkySA] Vanargand Animations - Sword Dual Wield Moveset

After finishing up the power attacks and polishing the animations, I'm glad to finally bring you the SkySA version of Vanargand dual wield, these attacks will trigger when dual wielding and holding at least one sword in either hand, let me know what you think!

[WIP][SkySA] Vanargand Animations - Sword Dual Wield Moveset

Moving on to dual wielding for SkySA users, these animations will trigger when dual wielding and holding a sword in the left hand, the normal attack combo is now pretty much done, the power attacks should soon follow, let me know what you think!

Attached, you'll find the 4 normal attacks showcased in the video, requiring AMR, DAR and of course SkySA.

[Skyrim SE] Vanargand Animations - Dual Wield Sneak Thrusts

Happy new year! Wishing you peace, prosperity and joy!

This is the Sword and Dagger (Thrusts) version, and will replace these sneak animations:

  • While dual wielding daggers and/or swords the Sneak movement, the dual attack and the special 3-hit power attack, as opposed to vanilla, the character will now remain in a stealthy position while performing these attacks.
  • While holding a Sword or a Dagger in the left hand, the left hand normal and power attacks.
  • While dual wielding and holding a Sword or a Dagger in the right hand, the right hand normal, power and forward power attacks.

This can be used alongside "Vanargand Animations - Sneak Thrust Attacks" which should now automatically play its animations when not dual wielding and avoid clipping with the left hand equipment.

Use any mod manager or manually copy the content from your chosen attached file's 'Data' folder into your Skyrim's 'Data' folder.

Animation Motion Revolution is required.

Dynamic Animation Replacer is required.

True Directional Movement is highly recommended.

One Click Power Attack is highly recommended for everyone and especially so for SkySA users: allows for perfect transitions between the idle animation and the power attack animations since the character won't try to perform a normal attack before transitioning into the intended power attack, while also allowing SkySA users to perform sneak power attacks which are otherwise disabled by SkySA itself.

[Skyrim SE] Vanargand Animations - Dual Wield Sneak Strikes

After taking a few months break from creating further sneak animations mainly due to their convoluted motion blending, I think it's about time to get back to it again! This time to overhaul dual wield movement and attack animations.

This is the Axe and Mace (Strikes) version, and will replace these sneak animations:

  • While dual wielding and holding at least one Axe/Mace in either hand the Sneak movement, the dual attack and the special 3-hit power attack, as opposed to vanilla, the character will now remain in a stealthy position while performing these attacks.
  • While holding an Axe/Mace in the left hand, the left hand normal and power attacks.
  • While dual wielding and holding an Axe/Mace in the right hand, the right hand normal, power and forward power attacks.

[Skyrim SE] Vanargand Animations - Dual Wield Attacks

I'm glad to finally bring you the dual wielding combat set "Vanargand Animations - Dual Wield Attacks", this was quite fun and really challenging to make and has at last reached a quality state I'm happy with.

Next up, I'll be working on the dual wield sneak movement and attacks, followed by the SkySA version of both the dual wield moveset and the sneak attacks.

Let me know what you think!

These animations will replace, While holding a one handed weapon in the left hand, the standing, walking and running left hand normal attack, the standing and directional left hand power attacks including the special/combo dual attacks with all one handed weapons.

This is the vanilla replacer version, to be used as is, or to be placed  in your folder structure of choice (Nemesis PCEA, Combo/Stances Animation Framework, etc...)

Use any mod manager or manually copy the content from your chosen attached file's 'Data' folder into your Skyrim's 'Data' folder.

Animation Motion Revolution is required, and serves to give the character custom motion data while attacking.

[WIP 2] Vanargand Animations - Dual Wielding Attacks

These animations will replace, While holding a one handed weapon in the left hand, the power attacks while walking or running in the 4 directions. Next up, the standing power attacks for different weapons and the special power attacks.

This took a while to achieve, but hopefully you guys will like the idea behind it, the animations still need some polishing though.

As opposed to vanilla's left hand directional power attacks, which use the same upper body animation for the 4 directions, this provides unique animations for each direction.

The aim is to give dual wielding an extra utility, through the power of AMR, sideways/backward power attacks can now help the character evade incoming attacks and respond with a quick counterattack, the dodge distance is not too large to keep the attacks a bit more balanced.

Let me know what you think!

Attached, you'll find the test files showcased in the video as vanilla replacers (Also includes the previous WIP version's animations), which can be used as is with no requirements, or to be placed in your folder structure of choice (Nemesis PCEA, Combo/Stances Animation Framework, etc...)

[WIP] Vanargand Animations - Dual Wielding Attacks

These animations will replace, While holding a one handed weapon in the left hand, the normal attacks while standing still, walking in the 4 directions and running in the 4 directions. Next up, the left hand power attacks.

No idea why, but unlike the right hand normal attacks, the ingame left hand attacks while walking are a blend between their workfile counterpart and their running attack counterpart, making it nearly impossible to get the intended walking footwork to match its ingame counterpart, the vanilla animations have that same issue though to a greater degree.

Let me know what you think!

Attached, you'll find the test files showcased in the video as vanilla replacers , which can be used as is with no requirements, or to be placed in your folder structure of choice (Nemesis PCEA, Combo/Stances Animation Framework, Diverse Random Normal Attack, etc...)

[Update LE 1.0b][Skyrim SE/LE] Vanargand Animations - Archery

Finally managed to extend the archery animations into the standing archery aswell, hopefully this will make your third person archery experience jitter free and more enjoyable.

While aiming with a bow, the character will now consistently keep facing the same direction while turning or moving in a similar fashion to how they behave with Vanargand sneak archery, let me know what you think!

These animations will replace, while holding a bow, the Vanilla Idle, walk, run, turn left/right, Sprint, draw arrow, drawn arrow idle, drawn arrow walk/turn, arrow release, equip and unequip.

This mod combined with Sneak Archery will cover almost all bow animations, it goes without saying that this shouldn't be used alongside Archery Gameplay Overhaul since they replace mostly the same files.

This is made on top vanilla's behavior while AGO's animations are made specifically for AGO's behavior edits.

Use any mod manager or manually copy the content from your chosen attached file's 'Data' folder into your Skyrim's 'Data' folder.

True Directional Movement is highly recommended.

Man this took more time than I expected, finding a consistent balance between my job and my animating hobby has been quite the challenge so far, hopefully it'll get easier as we go, nevertheless, I'm happy to finally bring you the one handed power attacks to wrap up my first take on replacing one handed weapon animations.

These animations will replace, While holding a one handed weapon in the right hand, the power attacks while standing still, walking or running in the 4 directions. Next up, I'll be working on the SkySA version.

This is the vanilla replacer version, to be used as is, or to be placed  in your folder structure of choice (Nemesis PCEA, Combo/Stances Animation Framework, etc...)

These animations will replace, While holding a one handed weapon in the right hand, the left and right normal attacks while standing still, walking in the 4 directions and running in the 4 directions. Next up, the one handed power attacks.

The hard part is done, after multiple days of work, the attacks have reached a state I find acceptable, however, I will be coming back to the workfiles at a later date to iron out smaller issues like clipping, and also add annotations like footsteps (edit: footstep annotations won't work properly).

This is the vanilla replacer version, to be used as is, or to be placed in your folder structure of choice (Nemesis PCEA, Combo/Stances Animation Framework, Diverse Random Normal Attack, etc...)
