For a long time, Patreon processed all recurring payments on the first day of every month. This could make the first month of membership confusing, especially if you subscribed toward the end of a month, got charged for the subscription, and then got charged again for renewal just a week or two later on the first day of the subsequent month.
Patreon has finally updated how they process recurring payments, allowing us to move to subscription-based billing.
