Tried a new strategy for resin galaxy that we REALLY like! Did one later that was mostly dark with just some subtle glitter and swirls:
Then once it cured, we did some white paint stars (like we did on the black hole table) and after those dried, we did a rAiNbOw nEbUlA burst from the center. SOOOOO fun bringing in a full rainbow of colors!

Hey guys! Now that the craziness of the underwater stream is officially wrapped up, we're gonna start doing bonus cooking videos again in between project videos! Next up: Vodka Pasta Sauce! Update on the underwater streaming video: sponsor has officially 100% pulled out, and we got full clearance to post it however/whenever we want. We've updated the video to remove all traces of sponsor input, and we're starting to process captions and get everything finalized for Friday! While setting up for our acrylic paint live stream I must have messed up the focus settings which threw off the next video we filmed 😐 (everything turned out fine in the end, you'll hear more in our 8/7 aftershow lol).
But that just accelerated some plans I had to upgrade our setup, which includes a bigger monitor that is right above our workbench! This is going to help us frame things but more importantly make sure everything is in focus. I also added the beginning of some cable man...

Whew! You guys, we did it! Ok guys, we've taken on a really big project. We've actually been working on it for weeks already, and we have just a few days left til it happens. You guys.... IT WORKED!!!!! IT WORKED SO WELL!!!!!!
Look at that glorious thing!! It's SUPER sturdy, barely any wobble, we can pick it up, rotate it upside down, put stuff on it with no loss of structural stability. We are so dang excited. This was a very stressful project because the biggest unknown - will the tension system work - couldn't be tested til the very end. Phew!

Well both pieces of the tensegrity table are done (and painted! We used the same acrylic wood stain that we used on the rainbow bench). It's interesting to see the reality (above) vs the photoshop mockup (don't mind that it's just floating in space. Evan held up the top piece and I photoshopped him out).

Since everything needed to be very precise and balanced, we used the CNC to cut a template and then used that template to cut out our pieces. Hey guys! Wanted to share what we'll be working on next - a tensegrity table! Above is a small scale model we printed just to play with it before we designed our own.
They work by being held up by the tension of the middle string and that tension is balanced by tension of strings around the outside. You may have seen these on Reddit or YouTube but we wanted to do our own spin on it.

When we first took the keys out of the mold, they looked so great! Absolutely love that silicone putty now, definitely using that again in the future. We knew the end would be ugly because of how we filled it... but one thing we did not expect: they whole key was skinnier than the original because I got carried away clamping the mold together and the cavity got compressed too :/ which does not bode well for Katelyn's chances of a quick escape from the shed hahaha -E
