WASAPI audio driver bounty off to an early success

A low-level, low-latency WASAPI audio driver has been written for RetroArch, and will likely appear in the next stable RetroArch version (1.5.1).

Windows users have requested this for a long time. Up until now, RetroArch on Windows could make use of either DirectSound (the older audio API ) or XAudio2 (available since Windows XP SP2+ and up). WASAPI has been available since Windows Vista and should allow for lower latency audio.

There are currently still some limitations in the current i...

Beetle PSX - SABR texel shading for OpenGL!

We just updated the Beetle PSX core with a couple of worthwhile new features.

To begin with, we fixed a longstanding bug that could occur with the OpenGL renderer.

Most importantly, though, we added a new texture filtering option for the OpenGL renderer. Called 'SABR', using this option will increase the load placed on your GPU but the graphics will look a lot better and less pixelly (if you like that sort of thing).

If you don't, then select 'Nearest' instead and everything will b...

3 new cores! 1st one - Rick Dangerous

Three new cores today! The first one to cover is a game program core called 'xRick'. This is a game engine for the old Core Design game 'Rick Dangerous'. This game was released in 1989 by the same people who would later go on to make games like Thunderhawk and Tomb Raider.

Our thanks goes out to 'r-type' who did the major work on this program core to get it up and running. Afterwards, we did some minor cleanups and revisioning to get it working on the widest array of platforms possible.
