It struck me that wandering around a desert in full plate made none of the sense, so here's a paladin oath that takes that into account! Addendum: Any similarities to warriors of any other sun-worshiping tradition are purely coincidental. (Praise the Sun.)
In related news, the Desert Update is coming around swimmingly, and we should be able to show you some of the fruits of that labor shortly.
Also, if anyone is interested in playtesting a mostly-complete class, shoot ...

This class is the result of a year-long collaboration on the Giant in the Playground boards, which is actually where I (the Finger) and Submortimer (the Palm) met. We've poured countless hours into its development, and it's finally time to call the Binder complete.
The binder represents a new type of spellcaster. Rather than learning spells, a binder negotiates with vestiges, remnants of spirits that exist in the void outside reality. In exchange for sharing his body and soul with thes...

*This awesome subclass, originally a version of the Invisible Blade, comes from Darkdinoguy Derek!*
Random updates: this month, we've got another big base class on slate for release, and next month, the Desert Update will probably occupy most of the project space. After that, it's just a matter of which gets done first: the Complete Warmage, a class-specific bundle, like a Complete Fighter or Complete Wizard, or something in Manifest. And we have even more (albeit le...

Sorry this preview is a day late -- I've been busy working on the Very Big Book. In fact, here's a couple of pages from it!
Take a close look at the page numbers at the bottom. I didn't just put those there; this thing is really that long. I'm so excited to share it with you guys at the end of the month!

I wanted to drop by, let everyone know what we've been cooking up, and drop off a sample of the fun.
There's two major books in the works: the Desert Update, and something special. Because we wanted the Desert Update to be a little more complete, with monsters and magic items, specifically, we're pushing it back another month to July 1st. Meanwhile, this month, we've got a mammoth of a book.
If you remember 3.5, you might already know what book this is -- yes, we're ...

UPDATE: After a ton of great submissions, consider the search closed. We're going to start narrowing down the candidates, and making some tough decisions, next.
Hey, everyone! We’re looking for an artist!
We're searching for someone for paid monthly character art commissions for our books. If you're interested, send an email to middlefingerofvecna@gmail.com with the title "Artist Submission" and the following things attached:
- Your full name
- Three exa...

The blacksmith swings his hammer, sending sparks sailing through the air. Some adventurers are nothing without their equipment, whereas the craftsman is master of his gear. Endlessly crafting, customizing, and prototyping, the craftsman is the model of the medieval inventor.
Now, this isn't the 'Complete' Craftsman. We're not done tweaking, playtesting, and remixing this class, but we wanted to put it in your hands regardless. I don't think we'll be moving or gutting any major componen...

You can play a bard of battledancing, a rogue disconnected from his own shadow, or a chicken-infested sorcerer. But what's just a bard look like? What's just a wizard look like? Just a barbarian? Included here are a few archetypes which try to answer that question, and in doing so, paint a picture of the iconic class expression underneath.
More than being pure expressions of their core classes, Iconic Archetypes are ideal for introducing newly beginning roleplayers to the class, cutting aw...

Unlike a few builds I've seen for hexblades, this one is a merging of the fighter and the warlock with the primary emphasis being on fighter. While this is a ready substitute for the Eldritch Knight, it's focus is more about debilitating and locking down single targets in lieu of straight damage.
Changelog: 4/26/16: Eldritch Aura: Only add half proficiency bonus on saves you are not proficient in.
Eldritch Aura: Add full proficiency bonus all saves against spells

Thus begins the practice of previewing new MFoV content right here, starting with the wonder Hammer of Moradin, brought to us by one of my favorite contributors, Takiskal. Feel free to comment and critique as on the regular site.
I just checked my watch and it's.. uh... yup, it's hammer time.

Introduction to Manifest is your first step into the Manifest Campaign Setting, our very own RPG world, which we'll soon be publishing adventures within. This is your chance to get acquainted with the gnomish Archive, the Rending of the Elves, and the mighty Nevarene Empire. This six-chapter book also comes packaged with high-quality maps detailing the nations and world of Manifest.
(This book might very well by my magnum opus. I'm very proud of it, and I promise you it's worth an extra do...

Boom!
An explosion rattles the room as a goblin alchemist cackles maniacally.
The Complete Alchemist is the definitive Alchemist class, complete with 5 subclasses, three of which are exclusive to this update: the Formulaeist, the Mutagenist, and the Xenoalchemist. There's also a bunch of new Discoveries.
Also, we've included the Drugs supplement, so you can introduce fantasy narcotics into your campaign world (what else would an alchemist be working on in his spare time?)<...

Ever find the races of the Player's Handbook a little limiting? There's elves, halflings, and half-orcs, but the humanoid monsters are really a player's envy. Who would choose a boring elf over a four-armed mantis man or sneaky bird person? Monsters and Men is our first race bundle, which includes the first release of our full Orc race, along with a handful of our favorite conversions from the Monster Manual.
Monsters and Men includes the following races: Goblin, Kenku, Kobold,...

One of the keystones of science fiction is the much beloved time-travel story. Who can resist the lure of traveling to the forgotten annals of history, or the long distant future? And there's no reason your 5e campaign should be spared the classic science fiction archetype. The Chronomancy Update introduces 5 new class archetypes and an expansion to the core spells that brings the magic of Chronomancy to your tabletop. With it in hand, you can integrate any time-hopping story into your campaign ...
