Changes

Changes are inevitable aren’t they? I’ve had this Patreon for so long and I’m so excited to have so many wonderful patrons, followers, fans, friends, such a beautiful tribe. As I’m working behind the scenes to upgrade, streamline this forum, I’m realizing how far I have fallen behind since my hysterectomy, even before that when I was feeling at my worst. I want to be able to organize everything in my life, including my Patreon, so that it’s clear and simple to maneuver. Right now ...

Dinner!

Today was a good day. The chickens produced a lot of eggs aso I baked three quiches, one Asian, flavored with broccoli, chives and chicken and a hoisin type seasoning. one southwest style, chicken, onion, cilantro, black beans, and corn. The last one is more of an Italian style, pancetta, chives, Gorgonzola cheese. I’m thankful to my chickens for producing these eggs. It’s good to know that when another situation arises where we don’t have access to food out here that we can still have ...

Morning tea

Feeling pretty good today. Although I had a setback yesterday, something scared me so I ran really fast and definitely felt the pain afterwards. However, I’m noticing I’m healing quicker each time a setback happens. I did spend the rest of yesterday in bed but this morning I feel pretty good, a couple little aches here and there, but this tea seems to always help. I know I post about it a lot, but turmeric, ginger, lemon, honey tea reduces inflammation. Also, honey is fantastic for hydrat...

Things are happening!

I’m excited to show you what’s new, soon!!!!

Things will be changing on PATREON soon for my page. It’s simply too hard for me to keep up, protect my content from being stolen etc. things need to change. I’m hoping you will all love and appreciate the changes as I make them.

There’s something really disturbing about seeing my content for sale on pages of strangers. The entitlement of stealing someone’s intellectual property and creative work blows my mind but it’s a ...

My road dogs are barkin’

It’s been a few days now since I returned home from Illinois and my dogs are barkin! So much walking through the airports has made my feet swell. To combat that I’m closely watching my sodium. As I have explained, we needed to make sure that Azrael was safe on her flight home so we chose to drive to Miami from Illinois, it’s a long drive, which she enjoyed, but it meant a short two hour flight for Azriel instead of the normal 4 1/2 hours it takes from Chicago to Puerto Rico. Plus the ca...

Healing is not linear

Yet another reminder in the last few days that healing is not linear. I know I keep jumping ahead of myself, but I want to be well again so badly! I’m definitely keeping more busy than I have so far since my surgery, I’m able to expend more energy and do more. Definitely thankful for this. Loving the sunshine and we have had electricity since the day I landed! Can’t say the same for water, however, we do have backstock of water, so we are OK there. The water is still kind of in and out ...

My first bath after returning home

When we returned home, I wanted to get in the bathtub right away but honestly after six months of my bathtubs sitting there with no use, they were quite filthy. We had to do some work uand clean up the area and buy we, I mean Jeremy. I did nothing. He literally did it all. He ran the bath for me and Allowed me to sit in silence with my self. What an incredible gift! I’m feeling a little bit more empowered each day and I’m definitely feeling more like myself now that I’ve returned home a...

Looking in the rear view

This road dog has been going through old photos on my way home after 6 months in Illinois, healing from my hysterectomy.

This pic popped up and I was flooded with feelings. So many things are happening in this pic. I won’t go into detail right now.

So many memories on this land, In this building, this town, with this dude. I continue to be thankful for all of it and look forward to returning to work in Iowa in March. I’ve learned so much from Mike over these 13 years and hop...

Goodbye tour

Our goodbye tour started today with my parents. They are so cute. My mom loves Village in, so that’s where we always meet up when we lunch.

So, today we said our goodbyes at VI. We chatted about family stuff and they sent me off with a very thoughtful gift that I will keep private but I’m so thankful and touched.

Next we stopped at my BFF Nicoles to say goodbye and give hugs.

After that we met up with my kids at the Rock Island pancake house and celebrated Oliver’s ...

Road Dog Diaries, Ready set go!

Only two more days until I head back home to my place in PR with Jeremy.

As I’m packing up to go I’m thinking of all the people and things I will miss here in the QC.

It’s been a long hard 5 Months but I’m ready to come out of this with more wisdom and strength than I had upon receiving this health journey.

I thought I would be much more mobile and self assured by now but I’m learning patience with myself. I expect that in another month I will be able to have my...

A little shadow work

I’ve been thinking a lot of shadows, shadow work, etc. I struggle with stillness.

Obviously I’m doing some pretty intense shadow work lately. In times of stillness, truth surfaces. There’s been so much stillness that my truths are surrounding me. It’s an interesting time to reflect and make peace with my imperfections and embrace myself whole.

What does stillness bring out in you?

New Glasses

I’m finally getting used to my new glasses. The first day was a little nauseating but now I love them!

I did not wear glasses until after I started Pickers but now I’m in love with frames. I kept losing my glasses through my travel and couldn’t make time to get a new prescription so I’ve been going without. Finally I found time to self care my eyes. The process of picking frames took a lifetime but within a couple of hours I found the right ones. Funny thing, these are the firs...

Happy Birthday Lolah!

We had a little family gathering for my baby Lolah’s 22nd Birthday. It was Beautiful to have the fam together and the cake from Nothing Bunt Cakes was ridiculously good! We also ordered the Jalapeño Hawaiian Lopiez pizza. I’m obsessed!

Oliver got Lolah a bag full of Foodie Minibrands and we spent the night opening them. Duuuude, it’s so fun to open these things! Lolah got some for us all over Christmas and we loved them. She has always loved cute, fun, snuggly, mini things.

Coming out of my cocoon

One more day till I have my last gynecologist appointment. Since Sept 17 (the day after Riot Fest) I have been either on bedrest or on restriction with my movement. I’m still not allowed to carry more than 3 lbs, no bending over or twisting, no running or jumping etc. so basically I’m only allowed to walk slowly, sit, lay down.

Tomorrow that all changes! Barring something crazy happening, I will be able to return to normal movement. I will be emerging from my cocoon of healing and ...

My goldfish series🧡🐠

This is a classic example of nipple rouging. This is and was an important piece of Striptease history. In the 1970’s nipple rouging became so popular at strip clubs that it launched the the “Benefit” makeup company. Their very first product was a nipple rouge that is now branded as a cheek and lip stain.

Do you remember

The episode out east where we picked the Time Capsule 1930’s vintage collection?

The women who owned the house and collection were designers and the family packed up their entire collection of designs that sailed around the globe with them, in the 1930’s. A few decades later, the passenger ship would fall out of fashion. By the 1960’s air flight became the preferred way to travel around the world.

It’s believed that The family of Women had servants who lived with them and...

Archiving

I’ve started archiving my vintage again. Partly because I’m preparing to sell some of it and partly because I’m documenting it for insurance since since I’ve moved it all to one location and unboxed it all again. I still have many boxes of vintage in PR but will be bringing it back in suitcases as I travel back and forth between Illinois and PR.

I’m thrilled at my choice to keep all my vintage in plastic bins to avoid mice, moths and critters.

I’ve noticed that if th...

Feeling good enough to adventure out more!

We tried so many different adventures, but everything was closed. No matter, we still had fun anyway, and yes we were very friendly with each other. What do you like to do when you get a chance to adventure? We tried to go to the museum, the botanical center, multiple shops, all the indoor adventures were closed down, but we got to have some good outdoor adventures so everything worked out. We saw tons of bald eagles this day.
