I love how intimate some of these images feel. Especially the second and third photo. I don't think I've ever shot myself so close up. It's funny how even when I'm alone and shooting myself, and not even fully nude, I can feel so exposed and vulnerable.
I really just wanted to focus on lighting myself well and shooting with intention- really taking the time to fine tune the composition. I'm also obviously obsessed with this top- I love how the pearls...

A little sneak peak of more upcoming work with my favorite lamp and mirror. I've been experimenting and focusing a lot on lighting my sets properly and playing in darker more intimate environments. I usually rely on natural sunlight, but I really love the dynamic range of emotion that I can play with using minimal light and how it pushes me to improve my skills as a photographer and self portrait artist.
Lots of new work coming soon! Thank you ...

Another set from my recent Spring collab with Randy. As soon as I saw this skirt, I knew I wanted to shoot in it. I felt like a ballerina- so feminine and graceful. It was so fun to pose in and play with the sunlight through the fabric. I've done very few shoots where I feel like I'm almost in a fairytale, but this is definitely one of them. I almost felt transported back in time, and half expected to see a castle when I turned around. I have a thing for army boots and prett...

This photo is from my last roll with the doubles from my last post, but I thought it deserved it's own post. I'm so fucking proud of this photo. It's definitely one of my favorite double exposures and self ports that I've ever taken. I actually cried when I saw it for the first time- because of what the photo itself represents to me, but also because I executed my concept so perfectly, that it turned out even better than I had hoped.
To me, this pho...

Some double exposures from my last roll. I'm really fascinated with the composition of the first one. I love how I can capture more than one emotion in the same image- sometimes even very contradictory emotions. I love how doubles express the complexity of human emotion.
I really wish my framing wasn't so off on the last image. I think that one would have been incredible. It'll be a little hard to redo that one since the trees have mostly all filled in, but I think I'm going to attemp...

Wildflowers are everywhere right now, and I'm in heaven. They're so unique and delicate, and the array of colors just makes my heart happy. This is the first bouquet that I picked this season. I had originally hoped to shoot this set in color as well, but the battery in my Pentax K1000 died. Both of my main cameras have built in light meters and I don't have a backup so I had to wait for a new battery to shoot my roll of color. But, I did! So, there will be another set, with a different bouqu...

Excited to share some more BTS with you guys!! I get so anxious when I record myself, even when I’m just speaking, but really wanted to give you guys a closer look into my film world. These are the last two rolls I sent in to the lab. Normally it would be two or more rolls of mostly self portrait work, but I finished a roll from my little p&s from the last 6 months or more and wanted to see what I got. Hope you enjoy the preview!! Full sets coming soon 😊

Excited to share my first collab of the year! I shot these over the weekend with a photographer I've worked with twice before (Risen and Light & Motion sets) and really vibe with and have similar artistic concepts. I had been wanting to shoot at this location for a while and we really lucked out as far as the weather. I was kind of perfect out there. Even the wind just added to the overall mood and added some amazing motion to our shots. I love shooting outdoors because I can really tune ...

Just a little set on one of those days where the end of day light catches my eye. I don't really have anything planned other than to capture the light on myself and see how it moves me. I also have a small hanging crystal that fills the room with rainbows. Look closely and you can find a rainbow in two of the photos.
I've been wanting to post this set for a few days, but was having a hard time uploading for some reason. I'm currently waiting for scans back from the lab and am working o...

Old set that I was in the mood to post. From one of the many weekend adventures with my good friend Eric. We met up yesterday for lunch, a bike ride, and some crystal shopping. At the end of the day, I felt so happy, grateful, and fulfilled. It’s always a beautiful reminder to me to surround yourself with those who bring out the true beauty of life and make it safe for you to be completely unapologetically authentic. Which one do you like better, 1 or 2??

I was planning to post the first and last images. I wasn’t sure about the others. But I feel like they’re all appropriate to post. I’ve been dealing with loss and grief this week. This set is a reminder that with the light comes the dark, and with the dark comes the light. One cannot exist without the other. And even in the chaos of this crazy world, there is still so much beauty. I identify as an empath and a lot of the time, I feel so overwhelmed and consumed by my emotions and the de...

A little sneak peak of a set from my last roll that I’m excited about! I went for a morning hike the day earlier looking for fungi and wildflowers. This is the bouquet that our Mother Earth gifted me and they were just too beautiful not to shoot. Any guesses whether I shot the set in color or b&w?? Full set coming soon!! 😊😊

You know how much I love my flower doubles, so I was really excited when all the spring blossoms popped up!! These are a few of my favorites from my last couple of rolls. I didn’t experiment as much as I would have liked but still happy overall. I’ve also included doubles that didn’t turn out as planned (including completely forgetting to press the film rewind button for the daisy double) and that it’s really a matter of trial and error and learning what techniques work for you. I als...

Just a little BTS clip of how some of the images from this set were made. I wanted to give you guys a little look into my process of posing and the space where I shoot a lot of my self portraits. I’ve been having a lot of concepts come to me lately after feeling stuck in an artistic rut, so I’ve been finding myself shooting a lot more. This was right after work which is why I’m still wearing my scrub pants. Hope you enjoy this little clip!

I’ve been having a lot of fun stepping out of my comfort zone experimenting with my double exposures and slower shutter speeds creating motion blurs that I think overall create more abstract images. I really love this set- I love how they’re not your typical “romantic” aesthetic but still carry a feminine energy to them. I also love the eeriness and how that mood plays off of the emotions that I was trying to capture- the feeling of wanting to hide from everyone including yourself, an...

As obsessed with B&W as I am, I fall in love with Portra and its tones every time I shoot it. All of these photos are completely unedited except for the last image, which I darkened just slightly. I just absolutely love how rich and warm the colors are. I’m also clearly a fan of light and shadow play, and I was really pleased at how I was able to work around the lamp to light my body while creating intimate shadow play that also seemed to create a harmonic balance with the light. The la...

From my last couple of rolls and part of another series expressing and capturing my own internal struggles with being a woman, being a human, self reflection, self discovery, soul healing, remaining authentic, and honoring vulnerability and every moment of the process. And through it all, learning to let myself be truly seen.
While I know what these photos mean to me, I love that they can be so up for interpretation.
Shot with my Pentax LX/43mm on Kodak Portra 800. I absolutely lo...

Before I fell in love with film photography, I would express myself through writing, especially poetry. This is one of my favorite poems that I’ve ever written and I feel like it perfectly represents my healing journey through self expression and self portrait work.

This is a self port that shot a couple of months ago and is a great example of my cropping style. A lot of times, I find myself tightly cropping my images in order to really focus on one aspect. In this shot, I really wanted to showcase the leaves and my curves as an expression of how nature and feminine energy intertwine. Which crop do you prefer and why? I actually don’t care for the image as a whole, but I love the cropped versions. Shot with my Pentax LX/43mm on Kodak Tri-X against my f...

After viewing my creator insights, it looks like 33% said that you’re here to help me financially, which honestly means the world to me. I absolutely adore shooting film and I love sharing my work with you all and hearing your perspectives and feedback. All I can hope for as an artist, is that I’m inspiring others, even in the smallest capacity. That being said, shooting film is expensive, especially when you don’t develop you’re own film. These may be the final images from this weekend, but I’m actually hoping for a few more. Shot by my good friend Eric, on my camera that he gave to me for my 30th Birthday. The camera that started my journey into film. My Pentax K1000. I love that my first camera was one out of his very own collection. I love that he’s been my mentor and has turned into such an amazing friend. I love that after almost 15 years of friendship, we’re still making art together and memories that I’ll never ...

I’m really proud of this double exposure. Shot on my last roll of B&W. I had this concept in my head for a few days and it’s something that I’ve been learning and thinking a lot about lately.
We all crave human connection. We all crave intimacy, safety, touch, and to be heard. It‘s just human nature. But at the root of it all, we need to learn to show up for ourselves and bring all those things to the table, b...

Nothing too artistic about any of these self ports (except the last on, my favorite!) but what I love about them is that I was so incredibly happy and at peace when I took them (even though I may not look it.) As much as the intention of my self portrait work is too help me along my healing journey, I feel like joy is just as an important emotion to capture as all the other unpleasant ones we have to work through daily. It’s a reminder to myself of why I’m on my healing journey and why I ...

This is a recent set that I shot with my Pentax LX on Kodak TriX 400. If you know my shooting style, you already know that I’m a sucker for morning light, shadow play, and flowers. I love the first image and how the light suddenly transforms into the shadows and how the transition seems to happen so organically. I also love how harsh some of the shadows are as it relates to the emotions that we feel and process through during periods of personal growth. It reminds me that one cannot exist w...
