[Research] On Chastity and collars!

So today I come to you with some questions!

As usual, I use player feedback to improve the game, and find answers when the questions are related to topics I don’t know much about.

First topic!

Power collars!

So power collars came as an idea a while ago, and much before that I had a similar idea inspired by skyrim mods.

In my games collars are usually one of the first restraints enemies tend to put, being somewhat on the low end of the power scale. So “Power collars” (I could actually use a better name for this) would just be the same collars visually but enchanted, and they would provide a much harsher debuff. In the same way that hand and leg restraints work, requiring a previous lower level restraint to be in place before they can be put on by enemies). 

So in this way power collars would require normal collars to be on the character and then, when put they will provide a harsh debuff/limitation.

Examples of this would be:

Exhibition collar: While wearing this collar you can't redress yourself.

Shock collar: Whenever you try to remove a restraint from yourself you take damage and a has small stun effect (Fortitude 15)

Slut collar: You are always considered to be in a free use state, allowing enemies to have sex with you whenever they want. (This collar will remove itself after some time)

Submission collar: Your attempts to gain domination always grant 1% domination.

Servant collar: Your attempts to gain an escape gauge always grant 1% escape gauge.

Drone collar: Your maximum Resolve cannot be more than 1. (So you will constantly fail charm and trance checks)

These are the ideas I currently have, you can suggest more to me, and if they fit I could add them. The idea is that having a power collar would be punishing akin to one of the big restraints but in a different way.

As always you will have to enable them on the bondage section, so you can enable the Exhibition collar but not the Servant collar for example.

Buffs extensión

One of the mechanics I’m trying to implement and make fun to play is using several buffs. However, one thing that I keep finding is that, on a sort of “meta” analysis, using buffs is not a great idea if you plan to fuck, because of the long-ish duration of sex you may end up losing all the buffs before you get out of sex, and as such, some gameplays may not be desire to enter sex, which would be a shame.

So here are my questions: would you like to have passively, whenever one character cums to extend the duration of all the (extendable) buffs they have by 20 seconds? 

This could lead to some unintended combos, but it could also make more viable the use of stacking effects and buffs (such as the Frenzy buff, or the Divine might buff)

And lastly, this is where my expertise drops to 0, the topic of chastity.

I don’t have this fetish, and I Don't understand it much (I mean I do understand the intellectual part of it, but I don’t exactly get what “gets you going” with this one).

So far I have two options on how to add chastity to the game, each option has their own implications, so I would like to get your feedback by voting here, and maybe talking about it on the discord or below. For game purposes I intend chastity to work mostly as a magic effect, rather than a metal cage.

Option 1: Chastity as not being able to use genitals for sex

I know this is the “real” chastity, however for gameplay purposes this implies that characters with the chastity restraint/ buff will require specific sex animations that they will be able to participate in. This means that on average they will only be able to see/use 10-20 animations at maximum, from the almost 200 available on the game. With this option the character will lose Willpower the longer it goes, unable to participate on sex, especially if enemies manage to arouse them. 

Option 2: Chastity as being unable to cum

This option is more friendly to the game itself, as the character will be able to participate in all sex animations, but they won’t be able to cum. Every time they would cum they instead gain a stack of frustration (increasing damage done and damage taken) and whenever they finally cum they will lose a massive amount of willpower (based on frustration stacks). 

This is a more lightweight option, but also a bit more dynamic.

As always chastity will be a module by itself, so you will have to enable it to experience it.

March objectives!

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

It’s a new month, so let’s see what is coming up this month!

New stuff:

  • Bukkake: I will be adding bukkake!

Whenever you have your hands restrained and enter a sex interaction, you will have a chance (set by you) to instead have your enemies masturbate in front of you (very in front of you!).

  • Emotes: I will be adding the option to do emotes. Not really much gameplay impact on this for now, but you will be able to do some dances and poses!

  • New area: Nazuban war camp. This new area will include the samurai and ninja themed enemies, who use wrestling-themed sex positions.

  • New sex positions: I will be adding 2 completely original sex positions, as well as importing 13 sex positions from previous projects. I will try to add more new threesome positions, but I’m unsure if I will be able to make them in time.

  • Diary: I will add a feature in the journal where you will be able to write whatever you want. You can use this to track stuff you want, or whatever you feel like writing on the character diary.

Content changes:

  • Max level :Will be increased to 17

  • Quests: I will revisit this system, as it seems to be causing a bunch of issues

  • New equipment: New weapons and trinkets will be available!

  • New abilities: New abilities will be added, including new ero abilities as well.

  • Performance: I want to try to improve performance a bit

  • Talents: I plan to add 6-10 new combat talents, and 6-10 new ero talents!

  • Bug fixes: I plan to fix everything reported so far!

Experimental:

  • Clothing physics: I will try a new solution for clothing physics. It may work, it may not work.

And that’s most of it for this month!

While there aren’t that many new features, this month I will focus a bit more on extending basic features and improving already existing stuff, as well as preparing it for the biggest missing feature: companions and summons. So far I have been having a bunch of issues when I try to add them, so I’m basically rebuilding parts of the code to make it compatible with this and make it easier to extend in the future.

I guess not even I can escape from the refactoring monster…

This month's update is scheduled for the 15th!

[Research] Sex style animations!

This week I was busy, since this update the issues weren’t that urgent I decided to postpone a fix until next month and take 2 weeks to dismantle the whole game and fix some core issues. Some of the issues are very rare, but when they trigger they could get the player stuck or have enemies perform extra actions, or stuff like that. I found the root cause but it required a big rewriting, so yeah, this is what I’m working on right now.

So today I wanted to make a small poll!

You have played on the Prison, with the “Villain/ Rough” type of positions

You have played on the Den of desire, with the “Sensual” type of positions

And you have played on Kinky Fight Club 2 (or against some enemies) with the “Wrestling” type of positions

So tell me, which of these do you like more (and would like to see more). Vote below, preferably only one category, but you can vote two as well. 

Would you like to see some Bondage-specific animations? 

These will require one of the characters to have their arms bound and will only be used in that case. I’m still unsure on if they would work as a replacement of other animations of that same type as random, or be specific for some animations when bound…

Yaradiel's Crown update 0.3.5!

Today is update day, so let’s get to it!

What’s new

  • Added a new title system! 

You can now choose a title to have for yourself, go and talk to the Herald on Zantlaha (outside the pyramid, going towards the market area). He will allow you to select two words to match and make your new title. This feature will be expanded in the future, right now it doesn’t do much, it is mostly a roleplay thing. When the game is finished title words will be unlocked when completing certain achievements, right now all words are unlocked. I would also like to add in the future that some npcs react to your title.

  • Added combat Hotkeys!

 You can now press 1 to 9 to use your actions in combat. You have to enable this on the adult settings, as this changes the buttons layout slightly. This makes the game almost playable one-handed. I will add a toggle for the camera in walking mode to follow the player, so it can be fully one-handed playable (when enabled) in the future. I personally love playing with hotkeys as it makes everything much faster. Making this feature took quite some time, as it is a fully dynamic system, changing - adapting- every time you open a menu rather than being hardcoded. 

  • Added masturbation! 

You can now buy on Zantlaha a bottle of lubricant to masturbate. When cumming while masturbating you won’t lose Willpower. 

In order to masturbate whenever you want you have to use the Lubricant item (sold in Zantlaha). It has unlimited uses!

Be warned, walking around with 80%+ Pleasure may cause you to start masturbating!

  • Added a new area: Den of pleasure, Vip area!

  • Added a new original sex position: Sensual titjob! This includes the Command and perform variations

  • Added a new original sex position: Sensual reverse cowgirl

  • Added a new enemy: Warrior muse

  • Added a new enemy: Eromancer

  • Added a new enemy: Temptress (or Tempter, male version)

  • Added new elites: Latex nun, Zain the master, and Shine

  • Added a new boss event for Shine. (Will you fall for her charms?)

  • Added a new overleveled elite: The neolatex siren (recommended level 30…or being very brave!)

  • Added a new adult setting: Rough sex mode! When enabled, if the starter of the sex position pleasure is at or above 20% it will start at 50% more speed. This just makes it more speedy and rough visually, gameplay wise there isn’t much impact.

  • Added a new adult setting: Sweatiness! As your characters participate more in sexfights and cum, they will get more sweaty! (Added based on player requests!)

  • Added 2 new abilities that can be used while fully bound. Tessa sells them

  • Added trinkets that have an additional effect when wearing specific clothing

  • Added new weapons: Dolls gloves and Dark staff

  • Added new combat abilities

  • Added new ero abilities (brat ero abilities!)

  • Added Mayhem’s intro quest (you will be able to meet Mayhem!)

What changed

  • Max level increased to 16

  • Grapple abilities are now sorted by “school” rather than alphabetically

  • Added 7 new sexy dance animations to the club dolls! (You will be able to use these in the future)

  • Updated enemies on the Den of pleasure capture area (to include new enemies)

  • Threesomes where both characters (attacker and assistant) participate in the sex act (instead of just holding the other) now both receive pleasure and cum.

  • Speed increased by 50% while no action is being taken (time between turns reduced)

  • Tessa’s shop now removes spell books that you already know the spells of

  • Modified enemy ai, so now it no longers bugs out trying to escape and is a bit more aggressive when entering sex

  • Enemies are now less likely to repeat same attacks over and over 

  • When using the End scene action you instantly increase the enemy pleasure by 30%

Fixes

  • Ambush message no longer pops up while not on stealth

  • Fixed an issue with Cadence not applying the buff correctly

  • Fixed an issue that allowed “Join in” to invite someone into heavy bondage causing issues

  • Fixed an issue that caused stuns to wait after casting finished to actually stun.

  • Fixed an issue that allowed enemies to attack while casting (after being hit)

  • Fixed an issue that could cause some status attributes to stack indefinitely

  • Fixed a visual bug with charmed eyes sometimes deleting base eyes

  • Fixed an issue with Execute and raging strike not working properly

  • Fixed an issue that could get players stuck after being restrained

Overall I feel like this update brings a lot of small quality of life changes that makes the game even better!

I don’t want to make a long post because I don’t feel very good today, I think I got a cold, or something like that…

[Research] On girls tastes!

Hey friends

Today I want to do a very specific poll. I want to ask my girl gamers and guys who like guys, how do you like your guys.

It’s no secret that I love women, but what girls find attractive in male characters is sometimes a mystery to me, as I get some very different, and sometimes opposing responses.

So today I’m  making a poll so you can tell me with your votes

I know that different people like different stuff, so I’m sort of gauging how big each % of the players are. This is mostly so I can make better male npcs for the game.

So I got 5 basic options.

If you feel I am missing something let me know

Option 1: Burly

This is usually muscular, and/or athletic. The very classic 80’s action hero. Big, muscular, rough, strong.

Option 2: Kinky

This varies in body size, but usually includes kink adjacent elements like leather/latex pants, gloves, harnesses or things like that. I’m not entirely sure how to describe it rather than just “has a BDSM energy”

Option 3: Elegant

While in some cases I found it may be close to the kink, this is the more formal side. The classic 007, always on a suit, always elegant. Usually with a very dominant and calm energy.

Option 4:Feminine-ish

Also twinkish. Not strictly a femboy, but not very masculine, not very muscular, usually with no beard or strong features.

Option 5: Punk

The sort of “bad guy”, but not going on the burly category, so the usual slender guy with spiky things, this may even include goth guys.

...

As you may see, my categories are not great, but this is the biggest group I could sort of figure out. If you find that I’m missing something, let me know!

I also finished the Titles system today, so I’m just adding words. If there is anything you would like to see in the titles, put it in a comment!

The title system works with a prefix and suffix, usually an adjective and a noun, so for example “Valiant” and “Slayer”, or “Kinky” and “Adventurer”. 

I already added like 100 words, but I want it to have all the words you want, so tell me if I’m missing something. (Yes, I already included the word Taco, both as an adjective and a noun!)

February objectives!

I hope you are having a wonderful start of the month!

Let’s see what is coming this month!

New stuff;

New area: Den of pleasure VIP. The second part of the Den of pleasure, which includes three new elites, and among those the irresistible Shine. Will you be able to resist her charms?

New enemies: You will be able to find new enemies in the new area!

New equipment: In the new area you will be able to find new weapons such as the dark staff and the doll gloves (who have attacks such as booty strike and boob strike!) and some new trinkets!

New sex positions: I will be adding two new “Sensual” themed sex positions, and possibly one or two threesomes.

Masturbation: I will add a new feature to allow players to masturbate, allowing them to relieve themselves and not lose Willpower when cumming. (This is also a tech prerequisite for other features like bukkake)

Sweatiness toggle: Due to popular demand I will add a toggle to enable characters to look more sweaty the more they engage in sex!

Title system: I want to add a small title system. This will work similar to the one in diablo 4: you get to choose two words to make your title. 

Right now I will add a bunch of words all unlocked, but later when I add achievements these will be unlockable based on your actions. (Right now I’m interested in it working properly)

So how this works is, there will be an npc in Zantlaha that you can select two words from lists to make your title. This title won’t have an impact on the game for now, but it will be shown on the main menu so you can more easily recognize your characters.

So for example you can use the word “Dirty” as either a prefix or suffix, so you could be:

“Dirty Warrior”

“Mage Dirty”

“Dirty Dirty”

So that’s the basic idea, so you will be able to put a tittle (mostly for roleplaying reasons) for your character, such as “Slutty Knight”, “Mighty Fucker”, or more normal stuff like “Brave Warrior”, “Daring Adventurer”. 

Combat changes

New abilities: You can find new combat abilities and shadow themed spells in the new area.

New talents: I want to add at least 7 new combat talents, with 4 of these being magic related talents

New ero abilities: You can find new ero abilities in the new area: these abilities are brat themed! (they make use of the brattiness effect)

Combat adjustments: I will be testing some of the new melee abilities to properly balance them.

Bug fixes

I want to fix the goddamn issue that causes players to get stuck with bondage on real time mode, as well as every other thing reported.

And that’s what is coming this month!

I will be doing some more modifications and upgrades, but these are the main features coming this month. 

I’m also working on Kinky fight club 2 right now, and getting it ready for this month’s Steam next Fest, (is a fest of demos), so this month I will be working mostly on these two projects

I will upload a new update for Solas city Heroes next week, so, yeah these last weeks have been very busy!

For this month’s care package it will include stuff from the next faction: The Nazuban!

So those who get it prepare to get your hands on a nice katana!

YC small fix and a [Research] poll!

So today I bring a small update, just a bugfix.

Sorry for the inconveniences, I always try to get everything working on the first attempt, this month it didn’t work out…

But besides the small update for fixing stuff, I come today with a 3 different polls!

This is mostly for research, the results of this are not necessarily to implement on YC or any other new projects yet. Now, some of you will always say “Just add it as an option”, which of course is doable, granted it takes double or triple the time to develop, but what I’m trying to gauge here is interest. There really isn’t much sense in spending hours developing a feature that only the 1% of players want, when I could have used that time to develop something the 30-40% of players want.

The first one is about skin shininess and sweat.

This has been asked sometimes during Kinky fight club 2’s development, and I kept forgetting about it. So now I want to see if you guys and gals are interested in it. This would work in this way: as your character starts getting more horny/aroused, and after cumming some times, their skin will start to get more sweaty, becoming a bit more shiny. 

The second one is a bit more silly.

Would you rather have sex abilities organized by type or alphabetically? 

By type: They will be grouped by similar effects, so you will have for example all the rigger type, then all the wrestler type, then all the seducer, etc.

Alphabetically: Exactly that, abilities will be sorted by their name.

The third one is for pure research, and it is about the overall sex gameplay.

On Solas City Heroes and Yaradiel’s crown I applied two different, sort of opposite systems for sexfight attributes.

On Solas City Heroes the characters sex attributes were much higher than the enemies, however, as they started to participate in grapples, and sexual interactions, they started to get tired/horny and their sex attributes diminished. In a similar fashion, whenever they cum they would have their maximum Health reduced.

Overall this design makes for a strong start, but it starts becoming harder and harder the more the player progresses or gets taken down. 

On Yaradiel’s crown the character's sex attributes are similar to those of the enemies (yet slightly higher generally), however they get reduced by some status effects, but then return to normal. 

This design is different from in SCH, as it makes the player constantly at a similar power level than enemies, and while it gets down temporarily, it gets up back again, making it more of a rollercoaster, rather than a free fall on the combat difficulty.

Which of these two do you prefer? 

These two designs are different, because they are part of different games, but I do love both of them, becoming weaker and weaker as you cum more, or having the chance to make powerful comebacks are both styles that I do enjoy. 

So yeah, I just wanted to ask about this.

Yaradiel's Crown update 0.3.3

Today is update day, so let's get to it!

New stuff

  • New area: Den of pleasure!

The doors of the Den of pleasure are open to the public! This private club is the spot to find fun and sensuality on the island. Be warned they are very loyal to Talara and you may not be welcome there!

  • Added a new original foreplay position: Sensual oral! This position includes FF and MM variants as well as perform and command variants!

  • Added a new original sex position: Sensual doggystyle!

  • Added a new enemy: Club staff

  • Added a new enemy: Bladedancer

  • Added a new enemy: Shiny muse

  • New ability: Summons!

Some elite enemies are now able to summon new enemies through the fight. There is a hard limit of how many new enemies can be summoned in one fight, so fights won’t end up being endless.

  • Clothing manipulation

If you enable it now enemies can manipulate your clothing to put you in humiliating outfits! In this current version it only works when captured, and if you enable both options, I plan for future updates to add spells for the enemies to use this. I also added some outfit stands that when the player interacts with them they can willingly put on some outfits! These outfits only last until you go to your room and change back to one of your own outfits. Your outfits are not lost or overwritten!

  • Added Neolatex restraints!

These new restraints are made of an almost impossible to tear latex. They are shiny and include some neon patterns. You can enable them on the hub, and this is the style of bondage those in the club will put. 

(Neolatex restraints in action + paint censorship for public image)

  • Added an indicator of the area the character is on the main menu

  • Added the Sex realism option

  • Added Ero ambushes! (It’s like normal ambushes but one of the enemies may go straight to sex when entering combat)

  • Added compass to the walker user interface!

  • Added new ero abilities, including one for submissives that drops domination! (added by player requests!)

  • Added an unstuck system

This system can be found on the settings tab. You can use it to return to the base, it will take you out of combat if needed, but it won’t remove restraints. It can be exploited as a free emergency scroll, but I would rather players have this and exploit it than get stuck and cannot play

  • Added a new interactable: dance spot! (related to club capture area). 

You can interact on these spots to dance (or do other stuff in the future), and while you are doing that, enemies will not spot you. 

  • Added boss events. Important bosses will have a small event trigger when approaching them for the first time ( before they have been defeated the first time). 

Right now only works with Warden Garrik. These boss events will mostly be a dialogue, working both as an introduction to the boss and as a way to respond to the boss. There will be choices in the dialogue, and if you take the wrong ones you can end up in an almost unwinnable fight! 

Combat improvements

  • Maximum level increased to 15

  • Added new items to the vendors, these items will appear as you reach level 10, and some will be upgraded as you reach levels 15, 26 and 37. These include weapons, potions and spells, lots of new spells!

  • Added 47 new icons, and replaced old icons on some abilities and buffs for the new ones

  • Added 14 new ero talents

  • Ero talent Shared sensations has been reworked.

 The previous one was too similar to other effects, I want for the kinky characters to make use of quickly stacking Exhausted on enemies, rather than just making them lose health. There are some new ero abilities that synergize with these changes!

  • Reversal actions now require 50% escape gauge, down from 70%

  • Increased overall experience gained by 30%

  • Elites Defense and Health reduced (while it is fun to have to fuck them to win it shouldn’t be required and their current health pool and defense were too high)

  • Slightly reduced enemy vision angle (150º -> 120º)

  • Credits are now displayed on your Attribute tab

  • Added some more settings for controlling the walker camera: with these settings you can change the position of the camera on both the X and Y axis.

  • Added the ability to put enemies on heavy bondage. 

Clothing

  • Improved the quality and reduced clipping of 6 of the bras

  • Removed complete maid dress and complete cleavage maid dress, and added the choker and garters as separate clothing items

Bug fixes

  • Putting restraints on others no longer triggers the Hidden desires talents

  • Putting restraints on targets while they are casting no longer interrupts casting and bugs out

  • Fixed an issue that caused assist animators to be reset when exiting threesomes

  • Improved the UI of the shop so it better fits all the screen resolutions

  • Defeating an elite for the first time now spawns the Shrine (no reload required)

  • Queued characters no longer gain turn meter

  • Struggling on heavy bondage no longer plays animations

  • Fixed an issue that could cause the player to get stuck queued

  • Added a failsafe in case the tutorial dialogue doesn’t work properly

  • Added missing lore and descriptions to some items

  • Updated player AI during grapples

  • Improved camera focus for quest or boss events

  • Fixed a bunch of small issues that I forgot to document

  • Enemies are more likely to enter sex instead of wait when the player is stunned

I feel like this update brings a lot of small changes and QoL improvements rather than big massive features, but it still packs a more than decent number of new features.

  • Added new weapon types, including the troublemaker gloves (brat gloves)

New year, new objectives!

Hey friends

Happy new year!

I hope you had a lot of fun and rest during the holidays. I sure did. So let's get to what is coming this year and this month

For this month I want to focus on a bit of bug fixing and finish adding up some of the content. 

I will add area 1 of the club, which includes new enemies, New loot and abilities and a different vive than enemies in the prison. 

I will be adding the neolatex restraints, as well as the costume modification system, as I want to use that for some minigame on the capture area for the club. 

Part of the New loot includes the doll gloves which come with some ero attacks like booty strike!

For the rest of the year I plan to add most of the remaining Core features such as masturbation, bukkake, gallery, summons, full body bondage, and emotes, among other stuff.

I also want to add more content to systems implemented, like 2 or 3 more heavy restraints, a lot more dialogues, quests, and a lot more sex positions.

Ideally around July or August I will have finished with the current phase and I will be able to move to the next phase where I will heavily focus on polishing and making everything look, sound and feel prettier.

I'm still on the lookout for a level designer and a writer, so I can speed up the development by not having to do those things that I don't like much and consume a lot of time.

I also plan to release Kinky Fight Club 2 either mid march or mid april. I will talk more about everything that happened around Kinky Fight Club 2 later on, but I will make a demo for the players before launch.

Lastly I want to do a small update to Solas city heroes, mostly fixes and maybe importing some of the New positions to that game, but I don't think I have the time to make much new content there. 

And I think that is all, I will work this whole year on Yaradiel's crown as I want to make this game really really good.

[Devlog] 2024 madness!

Hey friends!

I hope you are having a very fun time during the holidays!

Today I wanted to talk a bit about all the stuff that happened during 2024. This is just a devlog post (and a bit of rambling).

It’s been an intense year…

The first important thing that happened this year is that I realized how much I misjudged the interest of people on kinky fight club 2. While there were a lot of people interested in a sequel to kinky fight club, I believe KYFC was still a niche game, and as such it kind of failed to make the studio grow. 

So I decided to speed up and ramp up the development of Deviance. At that point I was working on it for a few weeks only, and I was barely moving all the hundreds of meshes, textures and animations to Unreal. And here is when things start going downhill. I had hired Programmer #1 to work on unreal on November 2023, so I can start moving to the position I want to do: Creative director, so my challenge here was to learn to command others rather than just do it myself. For a bit it went decently, much slower than I expected, unsure if it was because he wasn’t as skilled as he said he was (which ended up being the truth) or if things just took that long to normal people. 

And here comes the “Fun” part. Due to personal reasons, I decided to take 2 weeks off at the end of May. During that time, literally on day 2, the Programmer #1 send me a message to say he found a client with a bigger project (so more money) and that he was dropping the project. Nice. After coming back and trying to figure out what to do, because I spent 3 months preparing and learning non-code stuff on unreal, and now I don’t have a programmer, and the motherfucker didn’t write any documentation…

However, this guy recommended me someone else that worked with him, since we were sort of “friends” I trusted him and tested Programmer #2…

Things started well with Programmer #2, and as usual the first thing she does is remake everything Programmer #1 done because he did a shit job (which was true). 

At this point I realized that there was no way in hell I could provide a decent first demo for August, as I intended. 

So I started a new project and crunched like a maniac to get a “small” first demo for August…

(First concept for Yaradiel's Crown, inside Kinky Fight Club 2) 

I couldn’t get it done in time, so I got it for September. At this point I was working like crazy on both games, and I also tested 3 other possible additions to the team: two writers and one level designer. Let’s just say none of them made the cut, one of them ended up being an activist and tried to weaponize the game against me…Without even having worked on it!

By the end of August I was exhausted, I basically remade RPGMaker on unity, by myself… and then added sex! 

My original plan for Yaradiel’s crown was to be a small prequel to develop while I were moving to Unreal, however, at the end of August (or around that time) Programmer #2 got an offer for a teaching job, and decided to drop the project. This person not only did not complete the task she said she would do, it left the project in a worse state than it was before. 

(Progress after 1 month, I do really like making the UI first)

At this point I found myself having wasted almost a year of development and a lot of money and time. I tested over 20 people, hired some, fired all of them, and all I had to show was a project that looked pretty but didn’t work. Unplayable. So I decided to cancel Deviance and abandon the Unreal engine.

At the same time, the former CEO of Unity left and Unity canceled their stupid “install fee”, and started taking steps to improve as a company and regain our trust. With all the frustration I had I decided to stick to what I know and keep working on unity for some more time. This is when I started expanding on Yaradiel’s Crown and decided to make it a proper game rather than a small prologue.

After October I managed to slow down a bit. I was happy with the game’s overall reception. I know there is still much to improve, but I was happy with the progress. I started looking for level designers, as that is something that takes me a bunch of time and I feel I could hire someone else to do it. I posted an ad with simple instructions to test people, and at this time 22 people failed the test, 2 passed, one of them got intimidated by the game being an adult game (this info was in the ad tho) and the other wanted to pay him “senior level designer AAA rates”... (for someone with an almost empty, amateur level, portfolio)

So here I am, still looking for level designers (and possibility writers). I have learned a lot this year, and realized that I could make really cool stuff. I found out that every year, I have been consistently increasing my skills and becoming able to make more complex stuff. I think the biggest challenge with Yaradiel’s Crown was making the ATB combat. 

I wanted to make something similar to all those RPGMaker games that I love, yet something different, something a bit more innovative. I definitely innovated there, but I’m still not sure if most players love it.

I think after the last update where I gave the player “absolute turn priority” is when the game started feeling better. I did post a google form so players could give me feedback, and reading that has been reassuring that while the game is in no way perfect, I’m going in a direction that most players are happy.

On a systems level Yaradiel’s crown combines a lot of old systems that I had to remake, and a lot of new systems. It is the first “open world” game that I make, and integrating the whole moving + saving and loading wasn’t easy. I wanted players to have an immersive and constant experience, so if the last time they played they were in a hard situation and full of restraints, the next time they join they will still be in that situation, rather than starting “a new match”. This required a rework on both the buffs and bondage systems, so the data can be accessed and stored more easily, while also giving the player feedback on what is going on (the buff icons, the sounds, the visuals, etc).

Overall I’m happy with how things turned out on a personal level, I grew a lot and I created a lot of things that last year I didn’t think I would be able to make. I’m still annoyed at how everything related to Deviance went. I spent a lot of money and time there, and well, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose…

Yaradiel's Crown quickfix and Feedback form!

I’m back with a new quickfix, that actually got kinda big…

There is one big change in the game that I want to test out, but I feel it improves the player experience.

Starting on 0.3.1, the player's turn will always take priority. That’s basically the player cheats on the queue and gets first. This will reduce the cases where you may not get to perform an interrupt, block, or even an attack (due to being downed), so will feel good.

Now, some of you may think, “Dude, why didn’t you do this from the beginning?” And my honest answer is… because I didn’t think of it. I can make the most complex and interconnected systems, however I do sometimes miss out on the simple ideas. On a first look I thought of this idea as being “unfair”, because you know, you skip the queue, but… Unfair to who?The important thing is that the players have fun!

So, yeah, thanks to Cirnostyle for the feedback that actually triggered this train of thought!

This update also includes some nerfs to enemies, because they were hitting too hard, and some other small changes that should keep the game still fun and challenging, but not it should feel less unfair for the player, specially when fighting against 5 enemies. 

And I think this is as good an occasion as any, so please, complete this form if you can, it shouldn’t take more than two minutes. It is a feedback form regarding the first impressions for the whole Yaradiel’s Crown project. So please complete it after playing this update.

Yaradiel's Crown update 0.3!

Let’s get to it!

Threesomes

I added treesomes! In order to have them, first you have to go to the adult settings, and set up the % chance you want for threesomes. Whenever you enter a sex interaction, or use any type of reversal, the chance is rolled, and if there are any nearby extra characters on their turn they can join. 

Right now threesmes are only for enemies as the player does not have companions yet, but once companions and summons are added to the game, the player will be able to have them.

You can also have preferred and disliked threesome positions!

Gamepad improvement

I worked on adding a bit more gamepad compatibility. It is not fully compatible yet (it will probably never be, at least for customization) but so far I have been able to play some time with only the gamepad. 

New combat content

I added a bunch of new abilities, spells, talents, ero talents, buffs and weapons to the game. You can find most of these in the new area.

Maximum level is now 13

I also did some rebalancing for enemies, they hit a bit less now, but won’t die so easily on “higher” levels. (as in 5+)

I also did some rebalancing for buffs, which has been an issue in previous games to get them “right”. Right now buffs are not stronger per se, but they have fast speed (as in, consuming less turn meter when used) so you can quickly cast a buff and get back to action. Some buffs were buffed, like Reinforce, to be more impactful, and others have had their Focus cost reduced.

A new area has been added: The Ark Prison high security wing. Which basically is what the name says, in this area you will find the dreaded warden Garrik. I may use this area to add some extra elites in the future…

Three new enemies have joined the game: Prison enforcer, Nurse and Prison vindicator, and also three new elites have joined the game: Garrik, the warden, The order officer, and Ishna, the corruptor, a dangerous succubi currently imprisoned. 

I slightly improved the camera follow speed, and now also made the camera to store the position it is when ending the match, rather than only when entering or leaving sex. 

I also did some adjustments, so the combat in general should feel a bit more dynamic and fluid.

New adult content

As always with the addition of new enemies also comes new sex positions:  Villain footjob (comes with MM and FF variations) and Villain standing doggystyle, making these the last villain type of animations for now. (coming next month: sensual animations!)

With the addition of threesomes I also added all the threesomes from previous games, so 23 new threesomes on the game! (remember that most of them are very gender or role exclusive, so you probably won’t see more than 10-12 for any specific setup)

When cumming pleasure reset to 0 now, rather than 35% as before. I intended this to be an extra mechanic, but the game has too many mechanics already, so there was no need.

I also made it easier to escape and use reversals, as sometimes it took up to 6 uses of “escape” to actually escape and that felt like too much to me. All reversal abilities now require less escape gauge.

Added individual actions to capture scenes. Whenever you are captured you can now use individual actions instead of the 10 round actions. In the future these individual actions may have a bigger impact.

I changed how vibrators work. Before they essentially just gave passive pleasure, and the small stun chance. Now they still have the stun effect, but instead of giving pleasure, they now slowly drain your Temperance until you become Aroused! Keep in mind, the vibrator will keep trying to make you Aroused, so if you already are Aroused, it may trigger your Fetish drawback!

I feel like with these changes it interacts better with other systems, rather than just being a boring losing % of maximum pleasure every 5 seconds. 

Starting on this update, whenever characters cum, and you are using the “enemy won’t let go” setting, instead of always changing to the enemy being the one starting the next position, it does not work based on who came. Essentially, if you came, then the enemy will be the one starting the next position, if they came, it will be you starting the next position. This makes this part of the game a bit more fair!

Bugfixes

I fixed a lot of issues,so there shouldn’t be any game breaking issues right now.

December objectives

December is here, and so are this month’s objectives, so let’s get to it!

Threesomes

This month’s main feature. You will be able to set a % chance on the adult settings, whenever you enter a sex position you will roll for a chance to be able to enter a threesome, if there are enough free enemies around they will join the sex interaction!

I also expanded on the threesomes (basically rewrote it from scratch) so now there is a preferred and disliked threesomes tab, so you can select your favorite positions there! 

Each enemy will have three threesome positions, usually tied to their identity/faction or related to their other sex positions, so enemies with more wrestler type animations will still get wrestler type threesomes. There aren’t that many threesomes yet, but I plan to keep adding on the future. 

Right now the threesomes are only for enemies, as the player doesn’t have allies yet, but once I can get the minions (summons) or companions (party members) systems working, the player will be able to start threesomes as well!

Expanded capture

I will be improving on the capture system by adding individual actions that you can take on a turn to turn basis, including to struggle, pleasure your partner, try to dominate them, lose domination, or change position. 

While these individual actions are just a basic expansion of what the current system is, I want for some other factions in the future to have a different gameplay when captured: they will request a specific action, and depending on what the player does they may be rewarded or punished… (however this part is coming in the future)

New area and enemies

I will be adding the High security wing of the prison, being the second and last area of the Ark prison. Here you will find the incredibly mean and sexy warden Garrik, as well as other two elites, one of them being an unruly prisoner…

In this area you will also find new enemies: Prison enforcer, Prison vindicator and Nurses!

And with these new enemies comes  two new “villain” type positions, a doggystyle one and a footjob one!

Combat expansión

I will be adding more combat talents, increasing the maximum level and adding new weapons and abilities! 

Quest system improvement

With the addition of the last area, you will be able to complete the first quest. And I will also be expanding the quest system.

Bugfixes

As always I will be fixing all the reported stuff and trying to improve the quality of the game!

Optimization

I will be doing several tasks to increase performance on computers. My current focus is both increasing FPS and also reducing memory cost of the game.

And that’s all for this month friends!

The main feature for this month is the threesomes, which is taking a lot of time to get ready, but I’m also rewriting a major part of the customization system to try to use a managed memory system that is not the basis of unity. This is being a pain in the ass honestly, but if I can get it working I can theoretically reduce the memory usage of the game by roughly 10 GBs (of RAM), so it is an important upgrade.

I may add some more small thingies as usual, but these are the “heavy hitters” of this month

So I been playing a bit with postprocessing, and I wanted your opinion on which option you like more

Yaradiel's Crown update 0.2.3

Today is update day, finally!

Let 's get to it!

Heavy bondage

I added Heavy bondage to the game!

Heavy bondage, as I explained before, is everything that puts you on “furniture” or locks you in place. In order to make it work you will have to enable it first, and then go to the bondage tab and set the % chance for a heavy bondage furniture to spawn, and then the chances for the effect to trigger. 

While bound in heavy bondage, you won’t be able to gain domination, and gaining escape gauge is greatly reduced, however enemies may take more time between turns to have fun, so you have to use that time to escape from the heavy restraints!


Traps and ambushes

I added traps to the game. These come in several different flavors, including: bondage traps, heavy bondage traps, explosive traps (if you reach 0 Health when triggering it, enemies will spawn to take care of the situation), alarm traps, and gas traps! 

Traps also change positions dynamically, so you won’t always see the same traps in the same places. 

I also added a special ambush event, which I don’t want to spoil anything, but I would like to know if you guys and gals enjoyed it. 

The ambush event is not a strictly auto-loss, but it puts you in a very difficult fight, where you may end up being defeated…

Fetishes!

I added a fetish system! The fetishes are special talents on the ero tree, which you can learn. You can learn only one of them, so choose carefully. These talents give you a big bonus to one stat, and more passive bonuses, however, whenever you become aroused, while already aroused, your Fetish drawback will trigger, giving you some debuff and penalties. 

Elite enemies also get fetishes, so you can even use this to beat them…

I plan to expand this a bit more in the future, but for now I would like some feedback on this topic


New Area and enemies

I added a new area: Ark prison!

You can now enter the general population area of the Ark prison (with the maximum security wing coming next month) and fight against 3 new enemies:  (among some Corsairs and Onyx servants)

Fugitive prisoners, Prison guards and Prison officers!

There are also 3 new Elite enemies:

Bronn the muscle, Blight, and Dark shine (who is imprisoned, and you have to open the cell to fight her)


The Ark prison also includes the Ark prison capture area (Cell block C) where you may be taken if you are defeated while in the prison! (as each area, has their own faction and capture area)

New sex positions

I added two original new sex positions and imported 13 sex positions from previous games to the game!

The new positions are Villain prone doggystyle, and Villain lifted doggystyle!

Quality of life improvements

I made a lot of small changes to improve the overall quality and polish. Specifically I spent a lot of time working on the camera, so the new camera feels a lot better than before, and now it even stores your preferred camera position when entering or exiting sex!

Buffs and debuffs timer no longer goes down while on cumming animations, so their duration is not wasted, and some of them work multiplicatively, making them more powerful.

You can now use potions and some items during combat, however using one item in combat will reduce your turn meter by 50. There is a limit of 7 consumables per combat, but I don’t really see a reason why someone would use that many consumables in a combat unless trying to cheese it or bug it.


Quest system

I added a quest system, where you can read quests and see objectives, and complete quests and all that. Right now there is only one quest available and you cannot complete it yet, but hey, the system is there!

 

Content update

I added a lot of talents, like 40 in total, to both the combat tree and the ero tree. I also added more items, including weapons, and consumables.

I also rebalanced some attacks and abilities so it is more fair, as some where underperforming and some were overperforming.


Massive bugfix

I fixed a lot of issues, and improved a lot of other things, check the changelog below to see the huge list of changed stuff.

Forgot to mention, I also added a weapon and trinket upgrade system!

You can now go to Marius, the blacksmith and upgrade your weapons or trinkets! (Gotta find some Akarian sunstones/moonstones first!)

All in all, this is a huge update, I managed to get the heavy bondage system working without many issues so I had more time to focus on improving other stuff. 

I really don’t have much more to say, so I will just keep working hard, rather than writing stuff.

I’m still looking for a level designer, as the few candidates I got failed miserably at the simple tasks / reading comprehension, so I’m still capped at the speed I can work, since making levels takes me a lot of time.

About potions

Hey friends!


I hope you are having a great week!

Today I come with a question about potions!

So far I have set that potions cannot be used in combat, this was mostly because to me it was always kinda silly seeing people just randomly pop a potion in the middle of a fight. (Have you tried drinking something fast? or even in the middle of any activity, even less combat)


But this is a game, so here I am asking your opinions on this. So here are my three options


Option 1: No potions in combat! (as it currently is)


Option 2: Potions on combat, but they reduce your turn meter by 50.


Option 3: Potions on combat, they reduce your turn meter by 50, and there is a limit or cooldown (like maximum 5 potions on a combat)


That’s it, that is just the question today.
While I always love to give player more options, I don’t want the game to be trivialized just by popping 500 potions per combat, as it can be done in some other games.

So yeah, just a random question!


You still won’t be able to use potions if you are gagged!

November Objectives!

Today I come with some news of what is coming this month!

So this month I have been (and will be) working mostly on two big features: Heavy bondage and Fetishes. There will also be a bunch of new other stuff as usual, but I also want to take things a bit slower, and instead of pumping more and more features, do a bit of polish. 

Heavy bondage is the word I use to refer to furniture bondage, or basically anything that ties the hands and immobilizes the character in the place. When I can’t find exactly a word for something I just make it up, so yeah, Heavy bondage is that. So this month I will be adding the basic version of this, by basic I mean it is fully functional but it doesn’t include a pretty “carry to” animation.

Fetishes are something I have been toying for various games and I haven’t really found an implementation that I 100% love, so here I am trying something new! In Yaradiel’s crown Fetishes are special talents that you can select (you can only select one!) They will give you some passive stat bonuses and other fetish related bonuses, but (big but!) All fetishes have a “fetish drawback”, which is a mechanic that triggers whenever you would become Aroused but you are already Aroused. When those trigger they put a debuff (usually lasting 30 seconds) or something similar, showing how the character is experiencing such extreme arousal that they cannot focus on the fight!


Another thing I’m working on is the Quests system. I want to add a “simple-ish” (cause nothing in my games ends up being simple honestly) quest system, where you can check your journal for quests and objectives. I want to make something un-intrusive, almost non existent, that the player will have to immerse themselves in quests rather than just blindly follow quest markers around. I don’t plan on making extremely complex quests that would be hard to find without markers, but rather that if you read the quest description you should be able to complete the quests. For now there won’t be many quests, but I want to add more later on, and possibly a system to make procedurally generated bounty quests, so you can always have something fun to do!

I will also be adding new content: 3 new enemies, 2 completely new and original sex positions, a whole new area, and a new capture area, the Titansteel type of restraints (only hand restraints, used by enemies in the new area), and a bunch of new combat talents and ero talents. 


That is most of the new stuff, I will for sure add some more things, but in general this is what I plan to add for this month’s update. Another thing I want to do is go a bit slow but focus more on quality than quantity. For the first demos I really focused on getting shit done, and I did a lot. The game has like 30 different systems working together, which is impressive considering how short the timespan for making them was. Now I want to go a bit slower and polish more. I started with the camera, and boy I hate working with cameras, but I’m much more confident of the new camera I made, both for running and combat. It is not only smoother, but also has a convenient feature to “remember” the last position you set the camera for standing combat, sex combat and being on heavy bondage. 

TLDR: I will do a bit more polish and focus more on fixing bugs.


I've been super busy and couldn’t work on Kinky Fight Club 2 for the last month, but the release is still planned for early next year. I want to participate on the February Steam next fest, and release a bit after that.

Small poll about traps!

I came back today with a quick poll about explosive traps!

So, I’m adding traps on the next update. They work like mines, you step on them and they go boom. There are different types of traps planned: alarm traps (alert all enemies within 25 meters), bondage traps (puts restraints), teleport traps (teleport you back to a specific location) and explosive traps among others.

So everything was going great, but I can’t decide on how to make the explosive taps work. 

So rather than just build all three and blindly test I ‘m gonna ask you what would you prefer to see:

Right now it works as this:

Triggering an explosive trap deals damage. As long as your Health is above 1 after it hits there is no issue, however if you fall to 0 (or below) here comes the different possible outcomes:

Option 1: Only damage

You take the damage, and become Weakened and your Health stays at 1, so when you start your next combat you will have a bad time… (unless you use a potion) 

This option is the simplest, but in a way avoids the main pitfall of the trap if you have potions or are close to a campfire for example.

Option 2: Damage and Stun

You take the damage, and your Health stays at 1, you are not weakened, but you are stunned for 7 seconds, so if any enemy is pursuing you they will catch you. Additionally enemies within 10 meters will also be alerted due to the explosion.

This option is good, but it may lead to long moments of doing nothing if there aren't close enemies.

Option 3: Damage and fight!

You take the damage, and your Health stays at 1, but a new enemy spawns next to you and instantly starts a fight. You are stunned for 1 second, only for the purposes of this working.

This option is the concept of “you got knocked out/downed from the explosion and enemies came to find you on the ground”. However this option may be the harshest as it will punish the players 100% of the time they fall below 0 Health without a chance to not be punished (in previous cases having no enemies near and potions will nullify the downside of getting to 0 Health)

[Yaradiel's Crown Poll]

Today I fixed a bunch of bugs, fixed 11 out of 19 of the reported issues, so I’m hopeful I will be able to bring an update for wednesday.

However, for today I wanted to do a poll about Yaradiel’s Crown!


I mostly want your opinion so I can better balance some of the experiences of the game, so vote below and help me make a better game for all of us!


One thing regarding money: I have reduced the price of all clothing to half, so once the update is live all clothing will be much cheaper!


Another thing I wanted to ask is what is your opinion on an instant-lose scenario.


For example: there is an open cell in the prison, with something inside, once you enter the cell, the door closes behind you, and you are captured. 

While this idea may be fun for some, I want to see how most of the player base feels about it.


Regarding the capture scenario, I'm asking for the duration since you can press the "End scene" button, which is when you have 100 focus already.

So tell me with your votes!

Yaradiel's crown update 0.2!

Early update this month, yay!


Let 's get to it!


This month’s focuses on two big features:


Bondage

I added bondage to the game, right now you can choose from a lot of restraints to wear. You should enable them first on the adult settings section! (And also explore all the options there!)


Depending on your settings enemies will be able to put restraints on you (and you on them!). Restraints provide hardships for those with them, and the more restraints you have the more challenging it becomes to fight back…


Each restraint gives a debuff related to what it does, so hand restraints (such as linked cuffs, armbinders, yokes, etc) won’t allow you to use attacks or spells that require hands to attack, or gags won’t allow you to use spells that require chanting to use!


You can check the full list of restraints and what each of them does on the Codex in the game!



Enemies will put restraints on you whenever you are unable to properly defend yourself, such as when stunned, weakened, or similar effects. Some enemies will also have power attacks, that if you don’t block will put up to two restraints on you!



You can check and put restraints on yourself if you want from the Bondage tab on the pause menu, and there you can select and try to remove restraints you are wearing while not in combat.

Give it a shot and experiment with them!

The Emergency recall scroll (also known as the safeword item) now removes all restraints on you.

Resting on Zantlaha will also remove all the restraints on you for now, maybe I will change it in the future when I add more possible interactions with the bondage system

Capture

I added a soft gameover system, the capture system. If you are defeated and have the module enabled, enemies will capture you and take you to their outpost/stronghold! 

Each area is controlled by a faction, so when you are defeated you will be taken there. From there a small scene will start, and when you decide for it to end enemies will leave and you will have to escape from the area to be free.

The enemy outpost has some loot to get, however while in that area you have the “Captured” debuff, which reduces your combat efficiency by 25%, so be careful to not end up being re-captured!


Right now this is the most basic capture zone yet, as this is not only the first one development-wise, but for the players to find. I plan to expand this in the future with different capture zones having different types of traps and challenges.


New area and enemies

I added a new huge area (this area was going to be 3 different areas before)

Central ruins is the central area for Tier 1 of the game, from this area you will be able to access other 4 areas (once they are in the game of course), and as such this makes it so important and big.

This new area will include three new Corsair enemies: The marauder, the brawler and the trapper. Each specialized on something different!

This area will also include one new Onyx servant enemy: the Onyx priest (who can heal others!)

And we also have 4 new elites!  Be warned, one of them is much stronger than the rest, and is not to be fought unless you want your ass to be beaten!


With these new enemies there also comes new sex positions, 27 sex positions were added to the game!

And I also improved the enemy's patrol system and perception system. They should be better at their jobs now!


New enemy power attacks!


I will be adding two new power attacks. Although they aren’t “power attacks” exactly, they are new actions made from enemies that you have to react to survive!


The first of them is the spell. Enemies will now be able to cast powerful spells that you must interrupt (or avoid). While casting they will show a violet aura. Some of these spells can deal a lot of damage, stun you, put buffs on their allies, or even heal them.


The second of them is the grapple. Enemies will now be able to prepare a grapple. While casting they will show a green aura, and you must interrupt them. If you don’t they will grab you and instantly enter a sexual interaction! 


Combat content added

The maximum level has now been increased to 8.

I added a lot of combat content:

  • New weapons

  • New trinkets

  • New spells

  • New talents

  • New ero talents

  • New consumables


And more cool combat stuff for you fellas to find out!


New undressing option

I added a new option that was missing for the undress settings: Move away only if clipping.

This option (mostly used for head and jacket slots) will only remove clothing if they are clipping for sex or bondage situations. It will attempt to move away first, and if that is not possible it will remove it. If the clothing is not clipping, such as boleros or holsters, then it will not move it away or remove it at all.


Travel system

I added a travel system, from both Zantlaha (portal inside the pyramid) and campfires.

From there you can travel to any campfire you have unlocked in the world.


New interactable types


I added a new type of interactables: messages!

Now you can go around the world and read stuff!

You will find some notes around the world, some detailing lore stuff, some offering guidance, and Silvertail’s notes on how to escape from each faction’s hideout!



Bugfixes

I fixed a bunch of old issues, and new issues I just created. The amount is too big to be written here, but you can check the changelog for a more general idea of everything that changed.

I made the post a bit shorter than usual because if I were to detail everything added this post will be over 9000 words. So I would rather just play the game and find out new stuff, or check the changelog. All in all this is a massive update, with bondage and capture being two huge systems to add to the game. 


I hope you enjoy the new systems, and as usual if you find any issues let me know so I can fix them. Remember that as pretty as this looks, this project is still only 5 months old!

October objectives!

Today I come with news and the objectives from this month, so let’s get to it!


Before jumping on the objectives for this month, I wanna show this little Tech tree I made for the game. This shows which big features require each other, and a general idea of the progression on the different areas of the game. Features at the bottom of the chart are the most complex ones and require a bunch of other stuff in place to be made. With some luck I will usually be adding one or two of these per month.

Now, onto this month’s objectives


Bondage


This is the main feature of this month. I will add the complete bondage system, as it is working on Solas City Heroes and Kinky Fight Club 2. You will be able to enable restraints from a list and pick which one of these you want to be used in the game, for male characters and for female characters. You will also be able to use some of the other features such as customizing the color of the restraints, the shininess, if you get the “blindfold effect”, and many other super cool stuff.

Each restraint gives a debuff related to what it does, so hand restraints (such as linked cuffs, armbinders, yokes, etc) won’t allow you to use attacks or spells that require hands to attack, or gags won’t allow you to use spells that require chanting to use!

You can check the full list of restraints and what each of them does on the Codex in the game!


Enemies will put restraints on you whenever you are unable to properly defend yourself, such as when stunned, weakened, or similar effects. Some enemies will also have power attacks, that if you don’t block will put up to two restraints on you!

You however, will be able to learn abilities to put restraints on stunning, arousing or charming opponents, or to put several restraints at the same time on non-elite enemies!


I will also try to add bondage traps, and similar effects. The more restraints you have, the weaker you become!


When remaking the system for Yaradiel’s crown, I changed how it works. In previous games, escaping was a % based chance, so you can get up to 100% escape chance with enough skill, however that didn’t prevent bad luck, so for this game I decided to instead make it HP based for restraints. Whenever someone puts a restraint on the other character, the restraint HP is the rigger’s Bondage power x3 + any bonus related to the skill used. So restraints put from higher level enemies or from enemies with rigger related perks will be much harder to escape than those from low level scouts. This system also makes sure that every time you attempt to escape you gain some progress. Unless you are playing in Hardcore mode, then you have a 5% chance to fumble and not only not gain progress, but also slightly increase the difficulty of the lock!

I hope this makes the game more fun and “fair”. 


I also added a big menu where you can try and put any restraint you want on yourself, and even set the difficulty for it!


In this game (and future ones) restraints now have styles, and enemies put restraints based on the style of their faction. So for example, the Nazuban (Assassins and samurais) will use rope based restraints, while the Onyx servants will use more classic leather restraints. 

You can disable this feature with the “ignore restraint style” option. 

So far I have added three styles of restraints: classic, rope and cyber. I plan to add more in the future.

Capture


Another big feature of this update!

When defeated enemies will be able to capture you (if you enabled the module). You will then play a short minigame and decide how you behave (and you may gain some benefits or be punished based on your behavior), and then you will have to escape from the area. Once you leave the area you will no longer be considered captured (and as such won’t have debuffs to fight). I want to make escaping each different faction hideout feel different and present a different challenge!


New area: Central ruins

Originally I intended Central ruins to be 5 maps, but I decided last week to make 2, the outskirts and the central area. As such, this will be the biggest map on the game, and will have a lot of content. (And also a lot of unfinished content). 

This new area will include three new Corsair enemies: The marauder, the brawler and the trapper. Each specialized on something different!

This area will also include at least one new Onyx servant enemy: the Onyx priest (who can heal others!)

Also this area will include a bunch of elites, most of them of the area appropriate level, but one of them - The White Spectre - being very high level. Don’t worry there will be a warning outside her house, so you don’t go there “accidentally”. Be warned, your chances of defeating an enemy of higher level are very low!


New combat content

Maximum level will be increased to 8

New talents will be unlocked!

New weapons and spells will be added!


New enemy power attacks!

I will be adding two new power attacks. Although they aren’t “power attacks” exactly, they are new actions made from enemies that you have to react to survive!

The first of them is the spell. Enemies will now be able to cast powerful spells that you must interrupt (or avoid). While casting they will show a violet aura. Some of these spells can deal a lot of damage, stun you, put buffs on their allies, or even heal them.

The second of them is the grapple. Enemies will now be able to prepare a grapple. While casting they will show a green aura, and you must interrupt them. If you don’t they will grab you and instantly enter a sexual interaction! 


New sex positions

With the new enemies, I will be adding 16 new positions to the game!


Fast traveling

I will make a feature to travel from Campfire to campfire or to Zantlaha, so you don’t have to walk around!

I will also set up so that if you are defeated and not captured you will respawn on the last rested campfire.


Visual improvements

I will improve some of the auras and visual effects around enemies, so they are easier to read.


New interactable types

I added a new type of interactables: messages!

Now you can go around the world and read stuff!

You will find some notes around the world, some detailing lore stuff, some offering guidance, and Silvertail’s notes on how to escape from each faction’s hideout!


Bugfixes

As usual, I will try to fix as much as I can!


Optimization

I’m always trying to improve on performance, so I keep trying some new stuff to get as much performance as I can!

And I’m very happy with the reception it got. I hope I can count on your support to keep expanding, so we can make the game better!

Right now my biggest showstopper is level design. I do consider myself to be proficient in most game development disciplines, including this one, but it is not one I enjoy too much. And it takes me a lot of time, so I’m trying to find a level designer so I can focus on making the mechanics and animations rather than placing trees and stones.

For those who haven’t tried the game yet, and are crazy enough to be reading all of this, worry not, because this month I will also launch the first public demo for Yaradiel’s crown!

I expect the premium demo update to be around 15-17th, as there are a lot of things to test out, since the two systems I’m adding this month are massive!

And then a few days later I will do the public demo, around the 20 th I think.

YC First update!

Hey friends


I hope you are having a wonderful Day! Because I am!

I'm very happy with the reception of Yaradiel's crown first demo. I was scared that you wouldn't like it, or that it would be a total mess. 


It has some bugs, which hopefully I fixed for today's hotfix update. This is a bugfix update so there isn’t new content.

One thing I added is the “watch mode” special action, which can be used while on a sexual interaction. This action starts the player AI for 10 turns or until the sexual interaction ends. Player AI will behave based on how you set it up in the adult settings.


I want to thank all of you who are supporting the development of the game. You make this possible, and make all the crunching worth it!


During the next weeks and months I will keep updating the game, adding new features and content. 

Many of the systems on the game feel a bit basic, but as I add more stuff they will feel better and more interesting. 

An example of this is the stealth and enemy detection systems. They do feel a bit basic right now, but once I improve it, add new mechanics like traps, alarms and bondage, it will become a totally different experience than what it is right now. 


Same for the combat. I only introduced you to the most basic combat (since I didn't want to overwhelm new players with 100 mechanics right from the start) but there are many mechanics and fun stuff that you will see in the game soon!

(Examples include: stuns, poison, the whole arousal and fetish systems, tank enemies who protect others, grapplers, restrainers, etc)


As you may notice I'm super excited about this project and all the fun stuff that is to come, so as long as you like and support the project, more will keep coming!


There is a known issue, which I’m still unable to fix completely. Well actually two, one is the inventory bug, where sometimes when you pick up items they won’t show up on the inventory until you relog. I'm not sure why this happens, as this is an issue that I don’t even see in the editor, so  I’m trying to fix it blindly.

But the second issue is the more important one. Sometimes when you start the game, the physics engine loads after the player has spawned, and as a side effect the player falls through ground. I’m trying to find fixes for this, and it usually only happens if you leave the game after exiting a shop or customization (however in the customization case you drop to the ground level instead of behind the ground).
I previously added an emergency “net” to catch characters below the ground that basically allows you to use the trigger to move to the central ruins outskirts. However, if you fall below that sometimes you can get stuck. For that reason, I have added the “Scroll of emergency recall” to Tessa’s shop, and reduced the price of the item massively.

In case you didn’t know, this scroll is basically a safeword item, when you use it, you return to your room. It removes all debuffs, restraints (in the future), status effects, and stuff. So please always keep at least 3 of these in your inventory!

(You can now use these even while in combat, something which was always intended but I forgot to implement for the previous release)

Yaradiel's crown first demo!

Hey friends!


I hope you are having a wonderful day, because today is the release of the first demo for Yaradiel’s Crown!

I haven’t been this excited, exhausted (and scared) at the same time in a while!

So, let’s get to it


This first version includes a lot of systems, as I said before, while there isn’t too much content yet, I plan to add content and features every month. 

The first months are the hardest for a project, so I will be very happy to count with your support.

As a part of that, during the first three months (so, until end of november) the demos will include a +100% credits and drop chance bonus, so early adopters of the game can get something cool!


Something that is different now than it will be in the future is the clothing unlocks. Since there isn’t much content to go around right now, there is no point in having 90% of the clothing locked behind impossible unlocks (since the bosses are not done yet), so for now, and until all boss in tier 1 and 2 are done, all clothing pieces will be available on the shop. 


For those who are on the $10+ tier, I have added a system to give something else extra to you. As a way to say thanks, since we are on hard times right now. This is the “Care package” system, which is a exclusive code, for each month, that when you input it you will be able to loot extra items on your room. These items are mostly consumables, and two weapons from the next update (so basically early access!). These weapons are of the same level as the current max level content. So this is not just a “pay to win”, there is no extra power, just some extra variety as a way to say thanks.

All in all, making this first demo took a lot of work. It’s a massive project for one person to do (movement, combat, buffs, shops, dialogues, maps, animations, abilities, weapons, VFX, etc) so even if it is a 0.1, I’m very proud of this first demo.

I wanna take time here to thank all of you who helped me test, those who tried the most on the test channel, and those who helped privately. Overall, since the first alpha (I did 9 alphas!) The changelog is 4 whole pages long! We found a lot of stuff!


Since this is the first public version I expect bugs and issues to happen, but hopefully nothing really gamebreaking.

Keep in mind that you may see some features that may not be working, such as the hard mode on bosses. These features will come in the future (and it was simpler to just make the whole UI now instead of making it partially).

First public demo will be next month, and will include only Area 1 (Central ruins outskirts), but that demo will be released after releasing the new version with more maps!
