This was a tough chapter to write and I struggled with it a bit. But here it is. Please let me know how I did. Is what happened easy to follow? Am I holding up suspension of disbelief? Did Mindy get what is coming to her to some degree? Please, no suggestions of violence toward Mindy. Celia does not really roll that way and neither do I.

Okay, it turns out that I am going to have to change the sub-title of Intemperance IV to something else. When I first started the narrative, I planned to take the story to a certain point where "Never Say Never" was relative. But now, I am well over 500 pages into the tale and nowhere near that point in the story. So, once the current issue at hand in the plot is wrapped up, Book IV will conclude and I will move on to Book V and then rename the subtitle of Book IV when I publish it on K...

Greg confesses to Celia what he has done. She is not happy about it.

This one is truly a transitional chapter in several ways. I will say no more, except to ask for your usual feedback and, if anyone is interested in what Tabitha was watching on Sesame Street, it can be found at the following link. Warning: If you watch it, you will never be able to listen to the Beatles sing "Let It Be" the same way again.

A lighthearted, feel-good chapter. Perhaps a transitional one? Perhaps some foreshadowing? Perhaps the calm before the storm? Anyway, hope you enjoy it. I enjoyed writing this one a lot. It flowed out of me quite easily.

A tiny bit of retcon here, as I changed the date that Celia's tour starts by a few days to fit this chapter. Sorry if that offends anyone. Also, it may seem to some that this chapter is not advancing the story much, but it really is, by showing an important development in Jake and Laura's relationship. I hope you enjoy it. I really enjoyed writing this one.

Hey, Patrons (no charge for this post), I am doing well. Shoulder is pretty much healed, no COVID currently, and I'm about 3/4 through Chapter 20, which will be interesting, to say the least. I'm just hoping that someone out there will save me an hour or so of pouring through back chapters for a small detail (that I will be called on if I get it wrong). Did I ever mention where the first stop of Celia's current tour was going to be? Please post your reply. Thank you all for your support...

The shoulder is much better. It turns out it was not a tear, but a pinched nerve at C5/C6 in my neck causing the pain. The physical therapist I'm seeing has been very helpful at getting me back to full duty and teaching me how to sit at the computer so I can type out my tales. In her honor, I included a physical therapist character in this chapter, though any resemblance between my PT and this chapter's PT is only in my imagination. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this next chapter, whic...

You are not being charged for this post. Part of my recuperation from my shoulder injury has been trying to sit at a computer and do non-typing things to at least pin down what kind of posture does not aggravate the injury. Thankfully, Microsoft Flight Sim 2020 just came out and offered the perfect activity for this. I am not endorsing the program and they are not paying me to advertise it; I just enjoy it. Readers of mine will have probably figured out by now that I have a love of avia...

Thank you everyone for your patience with me. I'm still not back to 100 percent, and I'm still on light duty, but I was able to sit down tonight and finish up this chapter. I'm pretty sure I'll be paying the price for it later, but all in all, I'm on the mend. As always, let me know what you think. Things are starting to move toward a conclusion.

To my loyal Patrons (you are not being charged for this post, by the way):
No, it was not the dreaded COVID that took me down, just normal work in an emergency room. I tore my trapezius muscle on my right side a few weeks ago and had to go on light duty. And, while I was on light duty, a little old lady started to fall in front of me, I instinctively grabbed her, and she instinctively grabbed my right arm and pulled it, further tearing the muscle (I did not let her fall thou...

Sorry, everyone. Like Matt and Jake, I do not drink or engage in other intoxicating substances while composing my writing. However.... I have been known to down a few Grey Goose and Tonics or perhaps a glass or two of wine while doing the final edit. Such was the case tonight, and I forgot to actually post the chapter. My bad. It's here now, however. So... as mentioned earlier, let me know if I kept Greg in character. I know I kept Mindy in character.

This chapter is all about Greg. Let me know how I handled the situation. Did I stay in character?

I got a little unscheduled time off work this week so I had more time to work on the next chapter. And here it is. This one is truly pivotal and I'd love to hear some feedback on how I pulled off the scenes. Believable? Am I staying in character? Please enjoy (hopefully) and let me know how I did.

Sorry I've been taking so long between chapters, everyone. A lot going on in life these days. Mrs. Steiner and I went on vacation - not the vacation we planned when I applied for it, thank you COVID -- but we managed to get away to Las Vegas in the COVID world, which is an interesting story in and of itself. Anyway, 13 is done and I'm back in the groove. I'm going to try like hell to get 14 out before the end of the month.

To all my loyal patrons: Sorry it took so long to get this chapter out to you. A little perfect storm of circumstances slowed me down for this round. First of all, this is a pivotal chapter in the tale and I wanted to make sure I got it right and made it as believable as possible. There was a bit of writer's block involved here, but I pushed through and hopefully pulled off what I was trying to accomplish. Let me know how I did. In addition to that, I was dealing with a few real life is...

Sorry, everyone. I'm running a bit behind on Chapter 8. I have about two-thirds of it composed (and everyone's favorite actress will finally make an appearance in it) but, unfortunately, I live in the real world and the real world decided to challenge me with a kitchen plumbing emergency these last 2 days. So, instead of writing the last third of the chapter, I've been installing a new faucet and repairing water damage under my sink. I go back to work tomorrow so I won...

I know I took a little artistic license on when the Soul Train Music Awards were held. They were actually in March in 1994, not July. Sorry if that bothers anyone. There is no need to point it out to me.
