BTS Cenotes

Shooting with Stephanie Sinn and Perry Julien. We had a wonderful guide through the Cenotes in Tulum. You can find him on instagram at @m_o_n_t_o

We could shoot at this one cenote all day, but eventually we moved to another with mangroves and a single crocodile. We met the crocodile too! It was beautiful. Tulum was beautiful. Being around lovely places and enjoying nature makes me want to bring a part of it home to spread around me.  Can we not make every place wonderful to be?

Home from Florida

These photos were taken by Brandon Rudich. I edited them. Maddie Marissa styled the wig.

Got home from Florida. I feel like I can hardly move my body. I was starting to get sore by the end of the trip, and very tired. I found getting enough sleep harder as I mixed early shoots with late nights with friends... that's my own fault. I was excited to meet some new friends and get to hang out with some familiar friends.  I worked hard at keeping healthy this trip so I could k...

Too Grown- Feminity and Sexuality

Selfportrait Series

I've always looked older than I was but it became especially apparent when I was ten. So at what point did I become a woman? Or have a sexuality?
That part doesn't matter to me quite as much as at what point did I become a possible sex object.
I still marvel at being a person strangers know or feel inspired by. I'm just me, but to a host of followers I'm a glamorous model leading am exciting life. I don't mind people finding me attractive or sexually attract...

Images by Stories in a Picture

Freelance modeling is a strange profession.  I'm not sure what to relate it to.  When I first started modeling it was a hobby.  I picked it up from a friend that did photography, and then his friends. I started searching for other photographers to work with.  It didn't much matter what kind of work they did, I had a fascination with all of it. I still don't know if I have a favorite genre.  I don't think I could only do self portraits too, as I see my own photography ...

Jack Rabbit by The Naked Desert

Phoenix in January. It was so warm in the sun. I started the shoot with a jacket and immediately heated up in the sunshine.  Phoenix is so alien to me. I grew up on the East coast of the USA, and have never seen anything like it until I did in 2016.  The west coast inspired me to open my mind to the possibilities of my own country.  Cartoons and movies can't capture the quality of the tall, armies of Saguaro cacti.  They give me a sense of vertigo, like when I first saw ho...

Nova Amour and I by Grant Beecher

The first time I met Nova, I bonded with her.  I toured with her for a month a few summers ago and look forward to your next 5 month long, summer tour. If I can do it with anyone, it'd be Nova. Sure, we'll probably annoy each other, but we see eye to eye on so much.  We're introverts that want to go to bed early. We just want to model and photograph.  She likes to drive, and I can drive at night or in rain.  We go well together. I'm like 4 or 5 inches taller and quite a bi...

I more sensual set taken while at Clairbnb in Vegas. I almost forgot about all these until a friend posted a different photo of me there. I have so much to share! It was a great weekend hanging out with 10 other traveling models/photographers.  I felt so free. I mean first I was intimidated by everyone.  I was with some of the most amazing models in America (and Canada).  My take away is how kind and welcoming the best of the best are.  I think the best get to the top by h...

First Creative Self Portrait- The Human Candle

Still on Memory lane. This was one of the first editing projects I gave myself and then hid it away out of fear once again that they weren't good enough, that I only liked them because I'd done them. Well it's almost 2.5 years later. I'm impressed with my former self.  I've grown, but I envy the creativity and experimentation of my beginnings. I don't know that I've lost it though. I just challenge myself harder, but maybe art isn't about the constant challenge. It's about creating, and ...

As I was scrolling through old photos last night, this one jumped out at me. I saw this and decided to return to this set to look back through these. You can thank this photo for the new self portraits I've edited and posted on here the last week.  Now that 2020 has come are you enjoying the new year?

Start from the beginning

This is one of my first ever self portraits (which is why I look a bit different). I think this was the end of 2016. A photographer had cancelled on me last minute, after also having made me feel inadequate.  I've since learned that some people will use various manipulation tactics to get me to lower my rates. For instance suggesting I might not be worth the money so he wanted to pay only half my rate and he might give me the rest if I'm a good model.  I'm so naive.  And back t...

Happy New Years!

Wardrobe Your Fairy Godmother

This has been a magical year of personal growth and acceptance for me. I'm excited to see how I can take this personal growth into the new year! While the new year is just another day, it's a good reminder to take a step back and reflect on ourselves. Did anything leave an impression on you?

Edits

My plan was to edit at least one of these and post them before midnight but I struggled. I have another one that I probably worked the longest on and it still didn't come out right. Maybe I'll wake up in the morning and it'll look alright. It isn't a self confidence issue but plane old writer's block. I forced myself to squeeze out some creativity and perspective. While it might not be my best work, I feel some cathartic release. Editing is a great way for me to be creative besides editing. P...

In the Tahiti ocean with the rays and the rainbow fish, I felt the painful sting in my nose and throat trying to swim in the salty water.  I fight the force of the salinity to the crystal clear bottom. With all my might, I try to relax and pose near the bottom.  In the ocean water, I experience what a lot of models and people in general experience, I float like a helium balloon...

It's the weekend after Christmas and the weekend before New Year's.  It's been a week and a half now since my birthday.  This time of year so much comes together that it feels very much like some important change has occurred, and that I should be different. I don't know that anything really changes, but I've learned a lot over the last year. The new year feels like another opportunity to get up and try again.  I have new goals and aspirations and wisdom, and my whole pos...

Post Birthday Shenanigans

It's been a busy week. Between planning or celebrating my birthday with friends and family, working on side projects, and looking for houses, I haven't had a lot of time to answer messages and think about my upcoming tours. Hopefully I'll get some of that done today, but I'm in desperate need of relaxation as well as still having personal projects to finish up. I regret putting off answering messages and getting enough sleep. I know it'll bite me in the butt. The lack of sleep mixed with the ...

It's my birthday! Happy Birthday Me

Photographer Snails Love Tea

So far this has been the best birthday. I'm in a good place in my life. I've been working hard the last few years to all my life. My mental health has gotten to a pretty good place with therapy and medication. My coping skills, life balance, etc have come together a lot. Nothing is perfect. I obviously don't get enough sleep or take enough breaks but those are things I'm ready to work on for myself. I'm excited for the next part of faith in myself my life a...

It'll be my birthday in a few more days. I'm ready.  It's been a really wonderful year. I let go more than I'm use to and that taught me a lot about my limits and self care.  I can't remember if that was my intent for 2019 or 25, but it happened. It didn't happen perfectly, but it has mostly happened.  Something I've learned and continue to learn is to appreciate my own opinion and my work.  It's hard for me to feel okay being an artist and a freelancer in a world of techi...

I miss Florida. People have a bad idea of Florida. I get ti. It's press is awful, and going to the tourist spots are awful! But I've come to love its nature and animals. I love the water and perfect winters.  It gets crazy hot in summer, but it honestly does everywhere. I hate the summer and always will. The only thing good about summer is the pool and water.  But it's too hot to breath and impossible to live in.  The sun constantly threatens to burn me and mosquitoes and insec...

I live and breath in water

I miss it so bad. Listening to the rain tonight is lovely but I still feel chilly tonight and would rather stay dry to stay warm. I'm biding my time and imagining the days of summer where I can return to the water. I'm looking forward to all the moments.

Need to get a little cold

Maybe I should continue my Ireland tale.  What was is like? We hiked a bit.  We hiked the circle of Kerry in Kenmare.  Though we hiked all day for 14 miles, we didn't make the full circle.  Grant got tired and dehydrated.  Lucky me I'm use to dehydration and painful feet, and I had a blister on the back of my foot that still seems to be healing.  I learned to bring two pairs of shoes since my feet will inevitably come to hate any pair I wear for a week straight. ...
