That’s a weird title if you don’t already have context for the Furby Robot we’re building! In the last update we shared some progress, ending with some fur we bought. Well we have some updates for you starting with the fur. We are applying it by using the cosplay pattern making trick of making tape patterns, then transferring those to the fabric. Then we’re attaching the fabric with velcro.

There’s been lots of (somewhat disjointed) progress being made on the robotic dog Furby project so we thought we’d update you! First off, we decided on which form factor we want the Furby to take and we went with the “centaur” version (or as I think of him… the llama). This form should not interfere with the sensors the robot needs to move, and we like the look.
We tested whether or not th...

Evan is expanding our robot army, but this time it’s not a 3D printer or laser… it’s a robot dog. Like one of those walking, kinda creepy, robot dogs. He found a pretty “cheap” one, and his original idea was to turn it into a furry cat-like companion for Joob. Well, we quickly realized that Joobie had ZERO interest so we switched gears, and decided to turn it into a walking, talking Furby.

And this time it involves a popular salty snack… Takis! Neither of us had actually tried Takis in forever and wow those things pack a flavor punch. They’re like quadruple=layered in flavor/salt dust. We actually made rice krispies with 3 different Takis flavors: Fuego (the red one), Blue Heat (the blue one), and Dragon Sweet Chili (a less popular flavor, but we wanted to try it because it had “sweet” in the name).

We discover a crack in the glass!!!! We also cover:
- Why we didn't go with a Buy vs. DIY format at the beginning/thumbnail
- How we didn’t actually realize we couldn’t check on the rose til we put it in the pressure pot
- Our worries about leaving it too long or too short
- The debate of whether or not to redo the rose after we saw it was frosty/ghostly
- The yellow slow cure resin (and we found the new resin right after)
- Was CNC neces...

Hey y’all! We wanted to update you on the resin rose because we hit some snags. First off, we tried to CNC a hole in the base so we could insert a light, and the hole was so off center that it busted through a thin edge of the particle board base… whoops. Honestly though I think it’ll be ok since we can just paint it all black.

We also had planned to leave the rose in the pressure pot fo...

Y’all may not know this about me, but I’ve been in my boba tea era and I don’t think it’s ending any time soon. So we thought it’d be fun to do a second channel video where we try making it ourselves for the first time using a cheap kit and an expensive kit! Because buying boba is usually like $6.50 for a large so if I can make it at home… that’d be AWESOME

Just look at the pure ...

RIP to the project Evan breaks partway through. Anyways, in this Aftershow we cover:
- Other ways we thought about making a “resin” computer
- Our original design (e-waste)
- Thoughts on assembly cubes and how we could use those in the future
- The true extent of Katelyn’s silicone fiasco
- How much harder the real resin pour process was compared to our small scale test
- How well we think it would hold up
- What would we have done dif...

Hey ya’ll! So after Chunk 1 and Chunk 2 last October, we started brainstorming other fun things to try preserving in resin (although admittedly, we wanted a break from pumpkins specifically after that haha!) And an idea we thought of was recreating the Beauty and the Beast rose, but instead of preserving it with magic we preserve it with resin instead! We actually started by buying an officially licensed Beauty and the Beast rose to use as a jumping off point…

For those who want to see how the resin computer project turned out, we’ve got final shots for you! Though I will admit, when we first demolded our resin computer panels we feared they kinda looked like a preteen girl’s art project.

But once we demolded all 8 pieces and started assembling them, the vision started coming together! And yes, we did pour resin panels for the bottom AND an inte...

Hey guys! So many of y’all may have already seen the video on Safiya Nygaard’s channel where we made a giant franken yankee candle together. First off I have to say, we had SUCH a good time hanging out and working on this with Safiya, Tyler, and their team. And I’m glad we can finally talk about it now that the franken yankee video is out!
For this collab, our main responsibilities were 1) figuring out how to make a clear, round candle jar big enough for 30 gallons of w...

Sooo I was doing the silicone pour for the second batch of silicone molds for the resin computer case we’re making, and I committed a cardinal silicone sin. See, when you’re pouring your mixed part A and part B silicone from your bucket, you don’t scrape the sides because there might be unmixed silicone there. Well I was running low and although I knew not to scrape the sides, I did pour out a LOT more of the silicone in the bucket, so much that some of the on-the-sides stuff must have ...

Wanted to update y’all on how the resin computer is going! I mentioned in the last post that Evan made a custom shelf for our big pressure pot (Max) and the reason for that is because we have a LOT of molds to make… 8 to be exact! We disassembled the computer (which was a bit more nerve wracking than expected… I thought we’d just like remove acrylic panels from a frame but NO, we had to totally take apart the whoooollle computer).

We've been wanting to make a custom computer case for soooooo long. Our original idea was making one out of resin of course, but we didn't have much planned beyond that. So we started the hunt for a computer with a case we could disassemble and make molds of.

But then we had to figure out what the actual design was. Do we do something we've done before, like galaxy or ocean? Do we try something...

Over 1 year ago we made thick coffee (by mixing ThickIt into coffee) and I thought to myself, wow this is bad, why did we do this?! Well, time does weird things to your memories because I started thinking I really wanted to make another drink THICK. Evan and I were brainstorming and we decided to try various juices as the theme. Our logic was “what if thick juice is like a life hack to a smoothie?”

- Expectations vs reality on each makeup item
- Which was our favorite?
- Packing our entire filming setup in 4 suitcases

Hey guys, we wanted to share an update about how Evan is doing. I know we’ve alluded to it in some posts and streams, but we really haven’t talked about the extent of it much or how it’s affected so many things. It started mid October, right before TwitchCon, and at first we thought it was a muscle-related thing, like he had thrown out his back and would be better after a few days. Fast forward two months, many doctors appointments, and one MRI later, we finally know what’s actually g...

- Most surprising rool
- Favorite tool
- Least favorite tool
- Most fun to test

Hey guys! Wanted to share an update on *one* of the projects we did with Safiya, the one for our channel (we're keeping the one we did for her channel hush hush for now). So if y'all saw our last post about this, we brought a bunch of resin and makeup to her studio so we could test mixing makeup in resin to see how it would color it, and if any weird reactions happened. And wow - honestly most things exceeded our expectations, yet one of the items we were most confident about was probably the...

Why did we do this? Mostly for fun. We thought it would be fun to buy and test, and probably roast, some terribly rated products (kinda like when we test life hacks!) I have no idea how many Evan bought but he said he may have gone overboard so I’m scared haha. I’ve been banned from opening Amazon products til everything arrives and the ban has been active for weeks already. How many bad products will we own??

Wow, this video has been a long time in the making! It all started back in March of 2022, when my dad and brother pranked me by hiding a piece of onion in my pillowcase. Our bedroom smelled like onion for DAYS and by the time I discovered it, the onion stank had sunk through the pillowcase, sheets, and into the mattress itself. It was so bad.

- How long this video has been on our to do list
- Why we finally did it
- Our original plan vs what we actually did
- Fear that the projects were a failure
- How long it took something this large to cure
- The “huge” mistake we made but only realized when we were done
- Anything we would have done differently

Hey guys! So we made/crushed a ton of flakes/chips, and it was finally time to mix together the terrazzo for our butt stools! Which turns out is a ridiculous amount of material for the 2 giant molds we’re using. It looks like a bucket of ice cream btw.

Sitting on a big mold full of wet material felt very wrong but we both successfully made butt imprints! At least the plastic wrap we lined th...

Hey guys! We’re finally doing part 2 of a series we’ve been wanting to continue since… wow since a year ago. We’re gonna try making more of your “bad” DIY ideas! There were so many ideas submitted last time that we wanted to tackle but didn’t have time for, so we’re doing them now :)
The first one is “hammer shoes,” for doing things like nailing into a deck so that you don’t have to keep bending over. Other than that it was left pretty open ended. So we decided to ...
