A few undersketches for small paintings

Hey everyone,

Before I jump into bigger pieces, I need to warm up and get myself back into painting, so I've been putting together a few small concepts that I will paint in the next few days.

I painted a few things already, but some didn't work out, and I will share all of that with you soon, but in the meantime, here are a few undersketches for a few pieces I hope will work out!

Process PDF Format Poll

EDIT :
So, as of today, 05-09-19, we are at 30% PDFs and 60% Videos. Therefore, I have decided I will be working on videos most often, but will upload PDFs every so and then also. Thanks for your votes everyone, you were really helpful!

Hi peeps,

As I mentioned in this update post a few days ago, I wanted to ask you what format you like the most for th...

All the paintings I have planned (sketches, concepts...etc...)

Hi lovely people,

How are you all?

Over here, things are good. I'm my usual amount of exhausted, but at least I managed to spend a good portion of last week sketching, which felt incredible.
I shared the sketches in my Patreon Lenses (which you can access like an Insta Story on the Patreon app), and I'm so glad you guys enjoyed them! Thank you for all your kind comments on them :).

I am now going to start working on bigger paintings View Post

August 2019 Sketchbook PDF

Hey everyone,

Here's the sketchbook PDF for August!

These were the last sketches in my completed sketchbook (of which you can watch the full tour on my Youtube channel here), and the last two are from my new sketchbook.
It's a grey paper sketchbook, which is really interesting to work in!

I hope you'll enjoy it :)

Love, M

July 2019 Sketchbook PDF

Hey everyone!

I am finally done with my Strathmore Course! Well, so long as they are ok with it and don't want any changes, haha. But for now, I have sent it over and am waiting for a response. Hopefully, all will be good!
I wish I could release it early for all of you, but as it's a commission for a client, I unfortunately can't do that, but I hope you'll like it once it's live on their website (September)!

It was great practice for my future Skillshare class...

Finished Coaster Paintings (Oregon Show!)

Hi peeps!

I have finished the little coaster paintings and they are now on their way to Oregon for their show in September!

I ended up painting a Sneyel (see what I did there XD) instead of the eye in the crystal, as I wasn't super confident with the design yet. I'll re-explore it in the future I think though. I think it could make a cool sticker or pin. Once I figure out how to design my pin...

Talking of stickers, I haven't made a new one ...

Strathmore Course Painting Demos

Hi peeps,

I'm still hard at work on the Strathmore course and the coaster painting, which is why I've been somewhat quieter than usual on here, but I thought you might like to see the pieces I will be doing demos of in the Strathmore videos.

I will be walking everyone through the deta...

Coaster Paintings WIP Sketches

Hi peeps,

Merry Monday! How are you all?

Over here, things are quite intense, as I have started working on the Strathmore course videos, which will be my main job all week, and probably next week too.
BUT! I also have to fit in a couple of small coaster paintings for a show I was invited to participate in in August, in Portland, Oregon.

The show is organised by Out of Step Books, and they were kind enough to ...

New Painting : "Kindling"

Hi peeps,

I think I have finally finished the piece that I started before I went on holiday!

This one is title "Kindling".
I love that word, and as a child, I always thought it referred to a small and kind (kind-ling) creature, so it feels gentle and poetic to me, although my drawing doesn't exactly reflect that, haha.

I only had a minimal amou...

I'm back! - Sketches, Holiday photos and July plans

Hi everyone!
I am back from our holiday!

We came back on the 27th of June, and had a couple of days to settle back into our lives, unpack, refill the fridge, we had a family dinner...etc...and now, it's time to get back to work. :)

✿ OUR HOLIDAY ✿

We had a wonderful holiday, and I'll be honest, I feel incredibly sad that it wasn't longer. I would probably have needed at least another week to fe...

My Favourite Artists

Hi all,

I've been asked a few times to make a post about my favourite artists and biggest artistic inspirations, so this is it!

I have numerous artists I admire and inspire myself from, and listing them all would probably lead to this post being miles long, so I'll be focusing on the ones that haven't changed after many years. My tastes vary, and have changed over time and depending on my artistic direction of the time, but some works and people have stayed...

"Unravelling" PROCESS VIDEO

Hey peeps,

Here's your June Painting Process Breakdown!

This month's breakdown is taking a bit of a different form than previous months, as I didn't scan the piece as I went, so I decided to comment over the video instead.
I still show you all my supplies and explain my process in details, but it's in video form.

Let me know what you think of this format, and if you found the video interesting in any way!

Below are the timestamps if you...

"Kindling" Work In Progress

Hi peeps!

So, I'm really happy, because I managed to create 99% of your rewards for this month in the two weeks I had before I went on holiday. I really didn't think I would manage that!

However, the one thing I did not manage to finish, was the painting for the monthly print. I am about 80% done with it, but wasn't able to finish it before I left, I'm sorry!

Here's the piece so fa...

"Fortitude" Real-Time Video

Hey peeps,

As promised, here is the real-time video of Fortitude!

I talk for about 20 mins at the beginning, and then I overlayed some music for the rest of the video. I go into what supplies I used to draw the piece, and I talk a little about how I perceive this piece and what it means in my eyes.

I thought I'd also add the supplies I used in this post, and you can see the reference images I used down below.

Enjoy!

"AEVUM" Real-Time Painting Video

Hey peeps,

Here is the video of the hand painting for my 1-Year Anniversary :).

I decided to title the piece "Aevum", which refers to time and eternity in latin. I thought the word sounded beautiful, and the sound of it makes me think of a rush of air and a vacuum, which goes well with the piece, I think. What do you guys think? Your suggestions were what prom...

June 2019 Sketchbook PDF

Hey peeps,

Here's the Sketchbook PDF for June!

I didn't do a lot of sketches this month, but I focused on creating sketches that felt more polished, so I personally really love this spread. I hope you will too!
I will probably be offering prints of most of these sketches in the near future!

I hope you are all well,

What you can hopefully expect for June and July

Hi peeps,

So, as you may have heard already, June and July are going to be a little different than usual.
June because my boyfriend and I are going on holiday for 10 days at the end of the month (I CAN'T WAIT), and July because I am going to need to focus on putting together my 4-video course for Strathmore that is due at the end of the month (if you don't know what I'm taking...

I just finished my Redraw of my Inktober 2017 Day 11 piece (as you had all voted on this one). I gave it a title this one, and called it "Fortitude"

I was both excited and also scared to redraw this one, because it was one of my favourite from my 2017 series. I was intrigued as to how I could revisit it, but I also was ver...

"Unravelling" Painting

Hi peeps,

Those of you who watch my lense (on the Patreon app) will have seen a few work in progress pics of this piece as I was painting it today, but here it is finished!

I really enjoyed painting this one, and it's always a bit frustrating how little of the subtle details of the paintwork my scanner picks up. T_T
But anyway, I like this one, and it was obviously inspired by my 2018 Inktober "Frayed"  drawing. :)
I want to do a big painting with that conc...

Some Small Hand Studies

Hi peeps,

Merry Monday to all!

I had a pretty busy week-end as I am preparing Phosphenes and The Conflict to be shipped to Bath for a show at the Fringe Arts Bath Festival, and, let me tell you, preparing big framed paintings for shipping is rather stressful! But hopefully the show will be cool.
For those interested, the show will be from the 24th of May to the 9th of June, in Bath, UK. My work will specifically be in the Fantastic and S...
