Woods Witch

I told y'all I loved the trees! And I love channeling my inner Stevie Nicks. This is an exclusive sneak peek of a photo shoot I did among the trees with the talented Madison Hurley. Keep your eyes peeled for more (and less šŸ˜‰) coming next week.

Trees

ā€œWhen you go out into the woods, and you look at trees, you see all these different trees. And some of them are bent, and some of them are straight, and some of them are evergreens, and some of them are whatever. And you look at the tree and you allow it. You see why it is the way it is. You sort of understand that it didn’t get enough light, and so it turned that way. And you don’t get all emotional about it. You just allow it. You appreciate the tree.

The minute you g...

Throwback Thursday!

Oh my gosh. These photos are throwing me for a loop! I hopped in the way-back machine and found these gems of me and the brothers. That photo of Mike and I was taken in my old backyard that shared a border with Antique Archaeology. Love these boys!

Road Dog Diaries, Robbies New Shop

Yesterday started out simple enough. It was a beautiful day, not too hot not too cold.

The day started out with A crew meeting to discuss some of the current events in our lives and how we best support everybody. My choice was to take social media off of my phone and focus specifically on Patreon Again. This will help me to focus on the task at hand during the day and to post and check my social media once a day and that’s it.

I already feel a huge weight lifted off of my should...

Why do We Connect to Vintage Through Stories?

Stripping history time! Class is in session folks. Why is it that we connect more to the vintage we buy when it has a story that goes with it??? History of course!! Story telling, just like sex work, is one of the oldest traditions in human history. For the majority of time the history that we had to cling to, everything that we knew about our ancestors and the beginning of things was passed down orally. Sharing knowledge is a selfless act of love and rebellion. Educating yourself and others ...

More Than a Backdrop

Having the ocean at my door has been one of the best things for my health and my spirit. Every day I get to wake up and spend on this incredible island is a treasured gift. Being able to rub the sleep from my eyes, kiss my fur babies, and head to the water is church for me. I can let go of everything and baptize myself, washing away whatever sins I have convinced myself of committing. The ocean, the reef, the island is sacred. The Holy Trinity. As much personal meaning as I ascribe to them, t...

Road Dog Diaries. The Arrival

It’s 5:44 am in Iowa. I’m thinking back on the last couple of days, getting ready to leave PR. We had family in town so I was trying to drink in all the family time I could before the early morning 4am, 2.5 hr drive to San Juan to board my plane.

Finally Azrael is getting used to the ocean! Yayyy! I’m starting to understand that if there is a reef of rocks or coral on the shore she is happy as a clam and doesn’t mind the waves lapping the shore. I think it’s the unsteady fee...

Holding My Breath

When you try to tell someone you think something is unlikely you say, ā€œdon’t hold your breath.ā€ Why? Aside from the obvious, I mean. Especially now, our breath is important. Our breath is the constant reminder that we are alive. Without it, we cease to be. Establishing the mind-body connection as much as we can is so vital. One of the best ways to do that is through our breath. Whether that’s through breathing exercises, meditation, yoga, or even plugging your nose before jumping in, ...

Paddleboard

Here are a few ways you and I can start today to reduce our footprint and help our oceans. 1. Make seafood choices that are sustainable. Meaning, either eating no seafood or making in season local seafood options. Stop buying from companies that use longline fishing techniques that overfish our oceans. 2. Cut down drastically on out plastic usage. Make purchase choices that are plastic free when possible or are not single use plastics if plastic is needed. But try to avoid using plastics nea...

Road Dog Diaries, first the packing then the bath.

This photo is a quick shot Jeremy got of me while relaxing in my bath after packing for my travels tomorrow. I will be leaving at 4am to drive 2.5 hours to San Juan with my PA Debbie, to catch a flight to Moline with a layover in chicago where I will need to pick up some new makeup because I’ve lost mine in the move.

I just don’t wear it out here because it’s so sticky and hot.

We have Jeremys sister and her son out here visiting so I’m sad to leave them but excited to s...

My big dog setting adventure

This week Memphis is in Chicaho with Oliver so we are watching these precious babes. Picolina and Lua are visiting Grandma for the week and we have them all tuckered out.

I honestly had some hesitation and worry about having all of the dogs but it’s been incredible. I did get kicked out of my bed in the middle of the night, four dogs in one room with only one bed is a lot, however I’m getting used to it and I’m loving the daytime.

All of the dogs work as a pack and they ju...

Sea Fan coral

Alcyonacea, also known as sea fan coral, is a soft, woody coral found all over the world and particularly here in the Caribbean. It comes in a rainbow of colors and grows wide like a fan, giving the coral it’s name.

Though it looks like a plant, sea fan is actually a living animal with a central skeleton called a colony. Each colony has numerous polyps and each one of those has eight tentacles which spread out like a fan to catch plankton.

This amazing coral is so b...

TBT : Asian Burlesque Festival, NYC (pre covid)

This was one hell of a night! I remember the night starting off with Haley and myself so excited to see the Asian burlesque festival. I was so excited to see my friends that I haven’t watched on stage for quite a while. My buddy, Calamity Chang took her time to interview with us and I learned so much about her. Normally most of my Burlesque takes me through Chicago in the mid west on a regular basis so going to New York is always such an exciting time especially to see burlesque. Especially...

Throwback Thursday: Lili St. Cyr Bathtub Time

This is my personal nod to Lili St. Cyr who sensationalized the bathtub  burlesque concept and molded burlesque in her very unique way with  routines such as ā€œSalome’s Bathā€. To read more on Lili St. Cyr please  read ā€œGoddess Of Love Incarnateā€ by my dear one, Leslie Zemeckis.

Underwater Adventures: Coral Reefs of Puerto Rico

What is a coral reef?

Coral reefs are one of  the most attractive and most complex biological communities on the  planet. The word ā€œcoralā€ is used to describe a group of tiny organisms,  from the phylum Cnidaria, that secrete hard calcareous skeletons and  live in colonies in the form of polyps.

In the Caribbean, there  are more than 70 stony corals, whose skeletons are complex structures we  call coral reefs. Associated with thes...

Underwater Adventures: La Parguera

Welcome to our fun little under water adventure in the mangroves.

The Mangroves are a sweet little spot in the intertidal and coastal areas of the ocean where trees and shrubs thrive. In this environment with plenty of space to hide, new life is born. Baby sharks, squid, stingrays, fish etc. are born here and are able to hide among the roots of the trees and shrubs for safety and protection.

There are many different types of trees that grow in the mangroves due to the low oxygena...

A Beach Striptease

We actually took this video deep in the pandemic. We were not allowed to go to the beaches so we would find a little private spots that we could go to where nobody else was, early early early in the day before anybody else had woken up. This is one of the spots, I’m not gonna say the name of this place but if you live on the island, I’m sure you’ll know where this is.

On this morning I had only worn exactly this to the beach, we decided last minute to do a little fun photo shoot ...

Wet & Messy!

I couldn't have said it better myself.

Read what Katie Tandy has to say about food fetishes.

Color Me Kinky: Sploshing (Food Fetish)

Sploshing—also known as Wet And Messy (WAM)—is a fetish nothing short of a multisensory extravaganza. We're talking a bona fide kaleidoscope of bodily stimulation. As  with any kink, it manifests itself in all kinds of wonderful,  panty-tingling ways, but at its essential self, sploshing is all about  ...

Favorite Picks : Cancan dress

The CanCan first appeared in Paris in the 1830's, it was known as a high energy and scandalous performance, giving a show through high kicks and lifting of the skirt. You may know it best from Moulin Rouge.

The Cancan was a call for change - The cancan was a way of fighting against strict Victorian values, particularly for women. At a time when women were not supposed to be out of breath or show their ankles, lifting their legs into the air couldn’t have been more different for women ...

Wet Wednesday: Underwater No. 6

Sometimes life needs to be about play. It’s important not wear ourselves so thin that we create illness and instability. I know the hustle is real but listen to your body. If you’re tired sleep. If you’re overworked, take more time for yourself. Listen to the rhythm on your cycles. When to stop and when to go.

Folks tell me ā€œthat’s a luxury I can not afford ā€œ. To that I say, I see you! But after I stopped hustling, I started making better money and working fewer hours. Prio...

Oceans cover 71 percent of the planet and are home to important species and ecosystems that we rely on for food, livelihoods, climate regulation and more. But the oceans need our help. Saving the oceans can sometimes feel like an overwhelming task, but if we all pitch in, we can make a big difference.

How can vintage help our environment?

How can vintage help our environment? Humans are wasteful creatures, this we know. So many flash in the pan fashions start out with a bang and then I find them littering the aisles of thrift stores and attics all across America. Defunct reminders of the social acceptance we just had to have then discarded when social opinions change. I’m guilty if it too! Trust! Buying primarily vintage clothing can help decrease our carbon footprint and give us a more unique sense of style. One that’s no...
