Meanwhile a detective is actually doing her job pretty well and Helen attempts to find the trail of someone she once thought to be lost...

Ok, ok see I kinda think we're tryin' to cook a bit now, ya know? While nowhere near as laughable as the previous episode, I'm still finding myself very much entertained by the shenanigans of Guy and now Jasper. Funny part? 3 episodes in and we are already halfway done lol
I'm in for the entire journey though! Let's see what kind of stakes we can raise and characters we can develop in the span of just 3 more hours >:D

I'm not gonna lie, this is actually really good! I love the "horror sequences" and the fact that this show makes me uncomfortable and often times upset tell me that it's doing it's job and doing it well. Great use of practical effects and Stephen King lore. Incredibly interesting angle with our boi Dick and the team being formed. I'm really looking forward to seeing how it all pays off...

Ok.... is it anywhere NEAR the quality of "Interview with the Vampire" ? I'm starting to think.... no, probably not. HOWEVER, is this episode an incredibly silly and entertaining episode of television? ...... yes lol

I've been going back and forth between Seasons 2 & 3 and am struggling to divine my favorite. I think the "relationship" elements of S2 are more interesting overall, though I find myself gravitating more towards S3's overall themes of "spirituality" and "life/death" etc. Perhaps I'm just a morbid 'lil MovieMan, ya know?

1:25:00-ish - MY 2nd viewing thoughts
The penultimate episode for Season 1 folks, my gal pal in hot on the trail towards "I'm Caught-Up City"!
We deal with the fallout from hammering hearts as we try and tackle love triangles, households full of compromise, problematic interview techniques and toxic entanglements. All that being said, I'm sure there's a happy ending somewhere in all of this, right? ..... right?
With that, I'm now caught up on "The Bear" for what (in my personal theory) will most likely be a 5th and final season...
Love the choice they made for this finale in keeping things laser-focused in location and setting in order to lean fully into the dialogue and performances. We FINALLY get some conversations that have all been a long time coming. I have my own theories for next season and how the show may potentially end, so let's watch and discuss and see where we can go from here....
Well, with that, we close out the first (and hopefully not last) season of "Alien: Earth". In retrospect, after marinating on this now for a little over a week... I can certainly agree that, while extremely enjoyable and high quality throughout, it is not an especially "perfect" show.
I don't mind a bit of a "cliffhanger", or the idea of the show-runner(s) keeping some cards close to the chest, but I gotta admit that there are a LOT of plot threads not really closed out that I thought...
