Little Break

Hey guys. Sorry I've been MIA. Just a lot of life things have been hitting at once. Just needed an impromptu break this week from everything going on. I apologize for the late notice. Spoiler alert for those who haven't seen it. But I have a quick question for those of you who have....at what point in the film did you figure out the first big reveal/twist? Was it around the halfway point, before, or after? if at all?

DECISION TO LEAVE

I caught this one over the weekend, and while I admired a lot of aspects of it, it was a bit of a disappointment for me, compared to other works by Park Chan-wook. Though I feel his films deserve multiple viewings from me before I feel confident in a solid opinion. But while we are on the subject...what's your favorite Park Chan-wook film? 

RIP Coolio

Naturally, on the way to work this morning, the first song I played in honor of Coolio was Gangsta's Paradise. Duh...it's a requirement at this point. 

But immediately after....you gotta go for the good shit: The "Hit 'em High" Monstars' Theme from the Space Jam soundtrack. I mean you got Coolio, Busta Rhymes, LL Cool J, all in one song!

Unfortunately I've had Thrift Shop stuck in my head randomly for the last two days. I was hoping Coolio would break the vicious cycle. But.....

What movie have you seen the most, and why? 

Wise Words

I respect Louis CK's intellect a lot. I really like what he says here about fame, and choosing to focus on the positives of what happened to him here. Accepting the realities of the world, and how this can benefit you, is something I wish we could hear more of. Fame and attention is really not what you think it is. We will all be humbled eventually. Best to recognize it, and be aware of it.

The Force Awakens

bruh....I just watched this one a few nights ago after a long absence. I was so prepared for a better film than the prequels this time around. Wow...it was terrible. XD Way worse than the prequels, imo. My original rankings that I posted a while back of the Star Wars films...is definitely getting switched around. Once I'm done, we will have to compare and contrast.

I used to be a waitress at a bar briefly, but then once the pandemic happened in 2020, I told my boss that I wouldn't be returning before lockdown started, and he was closing down shop temporarily anyway. Turns out he was shot and killed a few nights ago in a homicide. He was an extremely angry man, ex military trained hard-ass, and whatever happened, happened due to escalation of tensions apparently. Wild. How are ya'll doin? Not the best segue-way, I'm aware. ><
