Ya'll. We're finally deep diving Reply 1988. This will be a two-part series (with a gap in between to tackle Love and Leashes). The first pod with be more of a traditional deep dive into characters and plot points. The second pod will be "I Have Questions" and tackle some of the historical nuances and slice-of-life aspects that appear in the drama.

Tsundere Appreciation

Tsundere is a Japanese term for a character development process that depicts a character with a personality who is initially cold, stern, or stoic before gradually showing a warmer, friendlier side over time (often melting through love---sigh)

K-drama writers understand that this type of character is often catnip for viewers...and they deliver with LOTS of tsundere being featured in shows. 

Sound off and give some appreciation for excellent Tsundere characters.

Afternoona Delight Pachinko Book Club: Register Interest

Apple TV finally announced that March 25 will be the release date for ‘Pachinko’. The series will debut on March 25 and is adapted from the NYT bestseller of the same name by Min Jin Lee. Anyone who regularly listens to the pod knows that I. AM. EXCITED. FOR. THIS. SERIES.

I saw Ateez in concert and I’ll never be the same

So first of all I want to thank everyone who sent well wishes for my concert experience. I was anxious about it because I am anxious about everything (lol) but it ended up being absolutely incredible. I laughed. I cried. I screamed. I stomped until my feet ached.

I got into Ateez end of 2020 and became a full-blown Atiny (fandom name) in 2021. I love the vibe of the group. It’s all about teamwork and to shine as bright as you can while being uniquely you.

I decided not to commit to another drama for a few days to focus--and then my sister was like please watch Singles Inferno so I can talk to someone about it. I'm deep in the Fated to Love You vortex....I've lost significant sleep in last 2 days AND today I did something I almost NEVER do which is day watch. For me, Kdramas are a strictly evening affair as a rule because I wait until small folks go to bed and then claim MY TIME. But today I snuck away for two hours because I'm literally addicted. So this makes me curious how everyone else watches content.

I Was Just Living My Life Without Knowing About Jang Hyuk

As much as I am 100% fine with my noona to ajumma fangirling—sometimes it’s nice to encounter an actor who is a little more… well-seasoned.

A listener recommended that I try Fated to Love You and it stars my girl, Jang Na-Ra (Go Back Couple) AND promised some of that earlier 2010’s drama flavor so I jumped in and so far it’s a lot of fun.
