INTEMPERANCE VI - Chapter 23, Bringing it Home

We roll through the second half of Jake's show and then move onto the next city. A few dynamics among the characters are explored and Steph, Lucky, and James engage in a Pulp Fiction style dialogue regarding racial relations, homosexuality, and the origins of the species. INTEMPERANCE VI - Chapter 22, Opening Night

Sometimes my chapters are a bit less than the average of twenty pages and I explain myself by saying that I was finished with what needed to be said and that's how many pages it took. This chapter is the opposite. It is considerably longer than the average because I was not finished with what needed to be said. As Jake says up on the stage: "I hope you like this". We're getting toward the end of the latest novel, which means my natural inclination is to speed up production. It also helps that various factors in Covid life have allowed me to score a much-needed week off from work, which also increased my productivity. INTEMPERANCE VI, Chapter 20, Totally!

A new character is introduced, one I am enthusiastic about. I have and do know people such as Tiffany, so I hope I am not being offensive. Let me know your first impressions of her. Also, Matt Tisdale returns from his European tour and evaluates his situation. Let me know how this plotline is going as well.

No charge for this, but a quick confirmation. I do not believe that, at this point in the story, Meghan the nanny and Matt Tisdale have ever actually met each other. Please confirm that I am correct in this. I'm hoping to finish up chapter 20 tonight. If I can't, I will definitely finish it tomorrow. I don't recall any point where they met each other, but sometimes I forget little details.

INTEMPERANCE VI - Chapter 19, Y2K

We skip forward a bit and the turn of the century is upon us (yes, I know it's not really the turn of the century for another year, please don't write to correct me). Jake's tour is being planned. Caydee reaches the terrible twos. And it's time to find out whether or not the world is going to end. I really had a good time writing this chapter. Hope you like it.

INTEMPERANCE VI - Chapter 18, Decisions, Decisons

The Kingsleys and their nanny take a little trip together. Decisions are made after much pondering. Will Meghan keep working at her job? Will Celia be open to the KVA winery deal? Are the showers in the venue safe? What should one order at a traditional German restaurant? This is meant to be a mostly lighthearted chapter with some hints of seriousness in the Meghan story, which contains some significant insight into her psychology. I am on my yearly vacation this week so I've had more time to write as the trip that Mrs. Steiner and myself were going to take had to be cancelled because I picked up a little case of the flu the day before we were to fly out (yes, the flu is back). In any case, I'm all better now and was able to kick the story down the road a little further. Hope you like this one.

INTEMPERANCE VI, Chapter 7, Life Goes On

Please make note of the note I put at the beginning of the chapter. The first, brief scene belongs at the end of Chapter 6 and will be moved there in the final edit. Just what it says in the title. Celia, Jake, Laura, and Caydee take a little trip to Celia's home nation to let her heal and to try to put things behind them and forge a new path forward. Will the new path be the same as the old one? I have found in my research for this chapter that Venezuela, politics aside, is a stunningly beautiful place. As always, let me know how I did. INTEMPERANCE VI - Chapter 4, The Aftermath

Jake and Laura visit Celia in the hospital and they all deal with the ramifications of the breach of privacy and the situation they all contributed to. As always, let me know what you think. A suggestion from one of my patrons figures heavily in this chapter after he brought up something earlier that I had not even thought about. Hopefully we'll return to more lighthearted issues in the next chapter.
