Stranger Things 4X7: Chapter Four: The Massacre at Hawkins Lab

Holy shit. We learned so much in this episode.

So, long story short (because it's late, and I'm exhausted), Joyce and Murray manage to break into the prison. But once inside, it's much more difficult to extract Hopper than they'd intended (I assume). Eventually though, they get to the control room and help them escape from the Demogorgon. Finally, Hopper and Joyce are reunited.

Somehow (I'm honestly still not sure how) the group in the Upsidedown managed to contact Dustin and Co....

You guys. Why is this show so good? And why don't I know anyone who's seen it? Seriously, this is the most fun show.

So we're got a new drug, worse than Vertigo. And, while Wild Dog tells Oliver that he knows the area that it's being manufactured in, Oliver tells him to stand down and let Felicity to her work up. You guys, this episode really got to me. I spent a lot of my youth in meetings. And, for whatever reason, with this episode being kind of focused around that, it opened up some old wounds. My dad was in and out of recovery my whole childhood. He lost his battle when I was 18. I cry a ton in this reaction. And a lot at things that aren't really tear worthy. Sorry about it.

I feel like this episode could have been so much more impactful if we didn't have Clay and Quinn in this dream world. The suspense would have been heightened so much if all we got was them in the hospital.

So in this episode, I'm mostly worried about Haley and Brooke. Not that we don't have other stuff gong on. But, thanks to this dream world, I'm less concerned about Quinn and Clay than I should be (plus they are now in the opening credits, so I feel like they are gonna be fine).

So, Oliver is a really shitty teacher. But to be fair, it's HARD to be in charge. Especially when you're used to working alone. But Felicity manages to put him in his place, and help him figure out what he needs to do.
