current events! finally shelving 'nothing for nothing' for now, picking up 'foxhood' again!

after 2 years of toiling away trying to make it work on and off, i'm deciding to finally just shelf 'nothing for nothing' again for a good while, it'll probably be at least 2 years until i pick it up again because every time i try to do something with it, i spend years on it making hardly any progress.. 'nothing for nothing' is actually the same reason it took 1.5 years between uploads last time.

unfortunately i hadn't been able to get much done this week, i'm having a lot of trouble getting back into animating specifically for 'nothing for nothing' which concerns me given how much work i have cut out for myself animating episode 1.. i think pressure's getting to me in that regard, so i may temporarily step away from it to continue work on the parry gripp animation or something for now!

good news!!! medicated at last!!

great news after this past week! my resting heart rate is totally normal again and i'm back on adderall! it already feels pretty crazy in how much better i operate compared to how i am off of it, though it'll still be a bit before i'm at where i was before due to that long period of A Whole Lotta Nothing + right now i'm on a low dose and need to build back up to my previous tolerance. baby steps but this has been a big win to have all that medical stuff out of the way!

progress has been made! things are looking to be back in order soon!

the 2-3 months ive had to go without adderall are likely soon to be coming to a close and i'll be able to get back to business soon enough, as the doctor's appointment i need is happening this week! so here's the current plan!

1080p of the silly mini christmas "special" + current status of 'nothing for nothing' + more plans going forward!

things have been going pretty well! given that i'm soon likely to be back on adderall so i'll be able to really get back into the swing of things, i've been hard focused on 'nothing for nothing' after getting this little christmas animation out within the week! i believe the script for episode 2 is 100% done now and just needs slight tweaks as time passes, and the final animatic for episode 1 has had good progress!

more good news! plus a silly little WIP!

progress has been keeping steady! plus, my heart rate has returned to normal at least for the time being, so i may very well be good to go back on adderall following my doctor's appointment in early january! i'm not gonna keep my hopes up but it's good regardless! when all that medical stuff is said and done i plan to really sink my teeth into nothing for nothing's animatics with some rough voice acting and such so i can start showing it to people and getting their thoughts!

good news! progress has been kept up!

at this point, the script for 'nothing for nothing' episode 1 is pretty much 100% complete and just needs an extra gloss-over which i'm doing while i make an extremely rough animatic for it! the script for episode 2 is very near completion as well! the reason i'm able to get these done so fast is that the general outline of each episode has been created and refined over the course of the past nearly 2 years now, so it's just been a matter of actually writing down the dialogue and the specific...

animation update! mixed news, but i'm getting somewhere!

so the bad news first, it is going to take at minimum 1 more month, likely 2 or more depending on the circumstances until i'm able to be on adderall again. the good news though! is that i found a good way to still be productive during this time, and it's for something meaningful: nothing for nothing! the one i've been working on since may of last year that takes place in the future, specifically.

more general update! still pretty confused..

progress had been made on porting "boy arena" to the new networking scheme, a pretty decent amount thankfully, but i'm still feeling so uncertain when it comes to what i actually want to do and commit to right now.. i think the unfortunate answer is i don't think there is a solution, i'm likely just going to keep bouncing all over the place project the project rapidly like i have been these past few weeks off of my medication.

general update! things are getting a little rough

i've been sketching but ultimately not much was done this week again unmedicated.. bad news too, i won't be able to be medicated with adderall again until mid-december at the earliest, so there's an entire month ahead of me like that.

to be blunt, the reason i had to go off of the medication is because of some heart complications, my heart is beating abnormally fast, notably for my resting rate which ended up in me going to the ER earlier this month where they couldn't find anything wro...

what you see above is a bunch of model sheet stuff for "nothing for nothing" i prepared around this time last year! they're a bit outdated since it was before a slight style overhaul, mostly maddie's because she in specific became a lot more angular, but i figured it'd be interesting to share regardless! these were for myself but mostly also for the other two people i'd be working with to bring "nothing for nothing" to life when the time comes to work on it as a team for episode 2-4!

sunday WIP stuff: let's talk animation!

here's something i whipped up this week: a full animatic for a new animation! ideally i'd like to commit to this one and see it through, but we'll see how that turns out... it's meant to be a pretty low-pressure animation that's more of a "Hey! I'm Still Alive And Working!" given that its only about 22 seconds long, but it's a fun little one!

foxhood development: new movement stuff!

a focus of this week has been a re-work of the movement system to be more fun and fluid, as well as adding proper controller support! the results so far have been very promising! unfortunately this will require a re-design of pretty much all the level design made so far, but that's not a big deal because they were intentionally made very scrappy in the event they needed to be re-done later down the line.

week 2 of "what i worked on over the break": "Destination The Planet: Arena" PvE mode!

here's another one of the projects i worked on while i was away, a PvE mode for a multiplayer spin-off of "Destination The Planet", a game i made and released a demo for last summer! DTP: Arena has been in development since last year, it's only this year that i decided to start work on a silly little PvE mode for it!

it's heavily inspired by Salmon Run from Splatoon 3 so there are 2 types of enemies: zombies and Bosses. zombies are your fodder that spawn much more frequently than bosses...
